I Awoke as an Imprisoned Villainess-Chapter 36 - I think Im getting tougher
I think I’m getting tougher
I woke up dazzled, and it was already morning outside.
Before I knew it, I was asleep with a cushion as a pillow. Claude sama’s jacket was draped over my body.
I wonder if he has gone somewhere, I can’t see him anywhere.
“…Ah, medicine!”
I looked at the pot and saw that it was empty. The golden medicine, carefully filled in a bottle, was shining in the morning sun right next to the pot.
This translucent gold color is proof that the medicinal properties are still effective. Claude sama must have taken it out of the fire exactly on time.
As I was relieved and let out a sigh, the door opened with a squeak. When I looked in that direction, Claude sama looked at me and narrowed his eyes, saying, “You’re awake”.

“Claude sama! Good morning”
“You seem to have slept very well, but have your fatigue been relieved? It seems today is going to be another busy day”
“Yes! ...Um, thank you very much. The medicine and even your jacket...”
“It’s no big deal. It’s what I should do as a man”
Somehow, emphasizing the word ‘man’ Claude sama said, “It’s time for breakfast. Violet is waiting for you in the dining room”.
For a moment, I wondered if we would be eating at this house...but then I thought that since Violet sama was here, perhaps we might be able to have a decent meal...!? I was excited with anticipation.
Seeing me like this, Claude sama smiled a little.
“After eating, it’s been planned to go to the royal palace right away”
“Royal palace...Ah, you are going to deliver the medicine for me?”
When I nodded in agreement, Claude sama looked a little surprised and said, “What’re you talking about?”.
“You’re going too”
“….Eh?”

And so we were in the carriage again.
I had just finished breakfast and was dressed in the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen, and I was dying from the sensation of the rumbling and shaking.
I was nervous about going to the royal palace, a glamorous place that a hikikomori would’ve never had the chance to visit, but more than that, I was suffering from stomach cramps that I had never experienced before in my life.
Today’s breakfast had too many items. The sumptuous meal, rich with cream with butter, was fifty times more sumptuous than the sumptuous meal I had had in the tower. I thought it was the meal of a king who would one day cause a revolution.
Incidentally, the meals of Julia, my mother in law, and my father are to be prepared after Violet sama’s meal- in other words, my breakfast. I’m not even surprised at this level of control anymore. I think I’m getting tougher.
“You ate too much”
Violet sama said to me as I gazed out the window with a distant look in my eyes.
“The number of dishes is so that you can eat only what you want, little by little. Who would be foolish enough to try to eat all of them?”
“I-I thought it would be a waste to just leave them...”
Right. I didn’t know that the servants were supposed to eat the food that their masters didn’t touch. Claude sama told me halfway, but by that time, I was already over full and felt like, “I’ll have a small portion for lunch today….”.
“Are you alright?”
Claude sama looked at me with worried eyes.
“We’re rushing the carriage and the vibrations must be making it even more painful. Although we are almost at the palace...can you bear it?”
Claude sama is very kind. But, it’s so embarrassing that he’s worrying for me after I ate too much. I nodded my head, thinking so.
Violet sama said that the grand duke is a very smart person. That’s why she thinks it’s very important to make the first move as soon as possible, hence, we set out for the royal palace early in the morning like this.
“—If my uncle is the culprit. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew that you and I had switched places”
Violet sama said with a grim look on her face.
“I nailed that vixen yesterday, and Maurice...that priest had been commuting to you, right? That person is my uncle’s subordinate. It must have been surveillance... Well, fortunately, it’s questionable if that man can even properly monitor and report”
That guy acts normal in front of my uncle, so he shouldn’t know how stupid he is.
When Violet sama said that, that priest’s face came to my mind, and I twisted my neck to wonder how he acted normally.
“That vixen was trying to get you to examine Johannes yesterday. No matter how much Arbuthnot blood you have in your veins, she must have been confident that she wouldn’t be found out. ...That’s why, today, I’ll use that medicine of yours, and settle it all at once”
Whoever it is, I’ll make him pay. Saying that, Violet sama shows her dignified face.
I was so excited to see her expression that I felt the question that had been on my mind for a long time began to bubble up.
—If. If the grand duke really is the culprit, why would he harm His Highness and Violet sama’s mother?
Claude sama had told me that the grand duke, who had made a name for himself as a hero in the distant past, had renounced his right to the throne shortly thereafter, and was now quietly living in the north.
After he renounced the right to the throne, he could not take it back again. But if all the other royal family members died, it would be a different story.
—For example, if he was trying to usurp the throne.
His Majesty, of course, would be targeted, as well as Violet sama.
...But. If I was the grand duke, I would go after Violet sama first because she would be the one closest to the truth.
I have no idea what the grand duke is thinking. Violet sama probably doesn’t either.
I was so worried that Violet sama, who was stretching her back with dignity, seemed to be feeling somewhat uneasy. And, I clutched the medicine in my hand tightly.
