I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 568 Date
"How was your day?" Alina asked as he came home, her voice warm and curious as she watched him step through the door.
Dante paused in the doorway, his dark eyes finding her immediately. Behind him, Sable and Lucien shuffled in, both looking tired but happy after their long day.
Sable yawned dramatically. "I’m sleepy."
Lucien nodded. "Me too."
They both headed toward the stairs, too exhausted to even ask for a snack.
Dante watched them go, waiting until their footsteps faded before he answered.
Then he sighed. A long, deep, extremely dramatic sigh that carried the weight of a thousand kindergarten problems.
"Very rough," he said, opening his arms.
Alina chuckled and stepped into his embrace, wrapping her arms around him as he pulled her close. She patted his back soothingly.
"Oh, Dee! But you did good. It was your first time as a teacher. You survived. That is success."
He buried his face in her hair for a moment, breathing her in.
"Survived is one word for it," he murmured. "Barely is another."
She laughed softly. "That bad?"
"Boo has a gossip network. Felix eats chalk. Drake steals biscuits. Luna challenges authority. Rocky cries over pebbles." He pulled back slightly to look at her.
Alina grinned. "Sounds like a normal day."
"Normal is terrifying."
She patted his chest. "You did good. And I think you handled them very well."
"That is a very low standard."
"For a first-time teacher? That is high success."
He smiled down at her, that rare genuine smile that made her heart flutter.
"Though," he added, his voice dropping slightly, "I am more excited for our date tonight."
Alina’s eyes lit up.
"Oh? Still happening? Even after your rough day?"
"Especially after my rough day. I need stars and you."
She blushed. "That is very smooth."
"I learn from the best." He kissed her forehead. "You."
---
After dinner, Alina went to get ready.
When she opened the wardrobe, she found a dress hanging there that she had never seen before. A soft beige color, simple but elegant, with delicate embroidery along the edges. It looked like it was made for her.
She smiled.
He had given her a dress so she wouldn’t have to spend time thinking about what to wear. He had planned ahead.
Typical Dante.
She changed quickly, the fabric soft against her skin, and when she came downstairs, he was waiting.
He wore his usual black attire. He didn’t need to dress up. He always looked like he belonged in a painting.
But when he saw her, his eyes softened.
"Beautiful," he said quietly.
She smiled. "The dress is beautiful."
"The dress helps. But you make it beautiful."
"That is very smooth again."
"I have many lines prepared."
She laughed and walked toward him.
He held out his hand, and she took it.
Then his shadows rose around them, dark and warm, wrapping around her gently like a living blanket.
And suddenly—
They were somewhere else.
Alina’s eyes widened.
They stood on a grassy mountaintop, the ground soft beneath her feet. The air was cool and clean, carrying the scent of distant forests. Below them, the world stretched out in darkness, dotted with tiny lights from faraway villages.
And above them—
The sky.
Stars stretched across the darkness like someone had spilled diamonds across velvet. Thousands upon thousands of them, so bright and close she felt like she could reach up and touch them. The moon hung low and full, casting silver light across the grass.
On the ground, a cozy arrangement was already made. A thick blanket spread out, piled with soft pillows. A small basket sat to the side, probably containing snacks because Dante knew her well.
Alina stared up at the sky, her mouth slightly open.
"Dee..." she whispered.
He watched her instead of the stars.
"Yes?"
"This is... this is beautiful."
"The stars are beautiful," he agreed. "But I am watching something better."
She looked at him, her eyes shining.
"You are impossible."
"You have mentioned that before."
She laughed and pulled him toward the blanket.
They settled onto it together, the pillows soft beneath them. She leaned back against his chest, and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
Above them, the constellations spread out like a map of dreams.
Alina pointed up.
"What is that one?"
Dante followed her finger.
"The Hunter. In some stories, he chases the moon across the sky but never catches her."
"That is sad."
"Romantic, I think. He keeps trying."
She smiled. "You would say that."
"And that one?" She pointed at another cluster.
"The Sisters. Seven of them, bound together so they would never be alone."
"I like that one."
"I thought you would."
They lay there in comfortable silence, watching the stars wheel slowly overhead. The wind whispered through the grass. Somewhere an owl called.
Alina snuggled closer against him.
"Thank you for this," she murmured.
"For what?"
"For bringing me here. For planning this. For being you."
His arms tightened around her.
"Thank you for being kidnapped so I could rescue you."
She laughed. "That is not how thank you works."
"It is how my thank you works."
She tilted her head up to look at him.
"You are very strange."
"I know."
"But I like you anyway."
He smiled down at her, his dark eyes soft in the moonlight.
"I like you too, little dove. Very much."
She turned back to the stars, warm and content in his arms.
"Best date ever," she whispered.
"Second date," he corrected. "We have many more to go."
She grinned. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"I am holding you to that."
And then both fell silent, the quiet settling around them like a warm blanket.
Alina watched the sky, her eyes tracing the patterns of stars she had never learned the names of. They sparkled above her, distant and ancient and completely indifferent to the small human woman staring up at them in wonder.
Dante watched her.
"You know, Dante," she said softly, her voice thoughtful in the night air. "Back then, life was so busy. We chased grades, jobs, solutions to problems. Working, always working. Making sure everything was alright, making sure everyone was taken care of. There was never time to just... stop."
He listened quietly, his hand resting warm on her arm.
