I Became a Mafia in the Academy-Chapter 261
Chapter 261
The Dragon King Quest.
To be more precise, it was a quest to get the talent of the Dragon King, the King of Dragons.
It's one of the coolest talents you can get in CS, with one of the coolest names and crazy abilities.
If I recall correctly, it allowed you to use skills that only dragon species could use, as well as have a few dragons as servants.
It's a rare quest that I've only gotten a few times, even as someone who's played tons of CS, so I'm puzzled as to why it's popping up now.
‘Surely this quest should have popped up later in the game……'
It was supposed to be a quest that you could only get by killing a dragon in a dungeon called the Dragon's Nest, but somehow it was given to me now…….
‘Wait. Was the dragon king I captured meant to become the East Sea Dragon King?'
I think there was one dragon king who would eventually take control of the entire East Sea.
First of all, the location of the dungeon is very different.
Wasn't his dungeon located in Ulleungdo? That's why he was nicknamed the Patriotic Conservative Dragon King…….
‘The way he looks……was a little similar.’
Although the appearance was different, somehow I thought that this might be the one I caught.
‘I must have gotten really lucky.'
At that time, the dungeon wasn't even under the sea, so I had to catch it on the waves that were shaking like crazy.
He wasn't weak or anything, but he was tricky…….
It's pretty sweet to catch one before it grows up.
I felt like I had organized a troublesome task in advance.
Add to that the fact that I received the Dragon King Quest, and it couldn't have been better.
‘Of course, the rewards are smaller.’
But that's no reason to get excited about it.
I don't know if my current specs would be enough to deal with the other great dragons.
So for now,
"Ew!"
I decided to lie down.
"I'm going to die……."
As soon as I finished organizing my thoughts, I fell straight down.
My whole body felt so weak that I wondered how I could have stood up so far.
As I collapsed, I saw the old man looking down at me in disbelief.
"……What do you see?"
"What an asshole."
"What?"
"Do you know how many times lightning struck you in the crown of your head and around your body in that short time? Look at me and you, asshole."
"Uh-oh."
Upon closer inspection, the old man's body was covered in black sooty marks.
That means my body is also…….
I struggled to lift my head and looked at my body, my clothes torn and burned in places until I could barely recognize the original shape.
It was a testament to what had just happened.
"Definitely not normal."
"Why should I be surprised, given what I saw?"
"Well, at least……you're alive, haha."
"Yeah, well, if you were this bad after taking a wood-attribute elixir, I don't want to imagine what would have happened if you had eaten it without preparation. You bastard!"
I wonder if I would have been electrocuted from the inside.
"……How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine. I'm just feeling weakened……but I think I'm just exhausted, so I think I'll be fine after a day of rest."
"Okay, I'll drive you home myself, so don't worry about it too much…… So. Did something change? You've been taking this many elixirs, so I'm guessing something must have changed."
"Wait."
Though I could barely move my body, I was able to raise the aura that filled me.
Wiggle-wiggle-wiggle
I snapped my fingers, causing the aura to rise to my fingertips, and then I applied gentle pressure, as if I was manipulating the electricity of Black Mist, hoping to change its nature.
Crackle.
Sparks flew from between my fingers.
"This much?"
"That's……real lightning, not aura in lightning form."
Kwak Chun-sik was trying to imitate me, but he could only change the form to make the properties similar, not create a full lightning bolt like me.
"Electricity is unpredictable and rare, so it's bound to cause trouble for your opponents, isn't it? What a surprise. Hehehe."
"Yes. I think it would be good to utilize it with Black Mist."
If it was a real lightning bolt, I could use it to create even more combat methods.
"Hmm? I thought I'd seen those shoes before, but they're Black Mist!"
When I said that, the old man made an "Ah!" sound and looked at the shoes.
He was from the same generation as the president, so he recognized them immediately.
"But something……seems to be different about them. Have you touched them at all?"
"I had a friend in Italy, Maestro Ludvio, who helped me."
"Ludvio, you mean the kindly old man? Hmm. I thought I heard once that he was very selective about his clients……Certainly Corleone’s name must be quite useful."
……not exactly by selling Corleone’s name, but by capturing a mythical giant and tricking the Vatican.
"Huh? Now you're moving."
I slowly push myself up, feeling my strength returning.
Then Kwak Chun-sik steps in front of me and crouches down.
"I'm glad to see you're feeling better. So, if you've taken the elixir, we should give it a try, right?"
"You mean the test……?"
Uh-huh. I take the hand he offers and stand up, the corners of my mouth curling up in amusement.
"Coincidentally, the government asked me to capture a villain this evening. Good for a test of strength."
He brushes off the soot as if to tell me to look at his tanned body because of me.
"Tomorrow, after the academy, come with me and we'll go hunt down some villains."
School's back in session, and he's supposed to mentor me after all this time?
"Sure."
I had no reason to refuse.

The next day, feeling more refreshed than usual, I walked leisurely to class.
Was it the effect of the elixir? I felt lighter than usual, which is why people take expensive nutritional pills and supplements.
As I walked into the class, I was thinking, "What's the timetable for today?”
"No, it's true! There's already a rumor going around the neighborhood that Dark Spirit is in Korea!"
"That's just an urban legend, no one's seen them anyway."
TLN: I used them instead of him/her because people don’t know Dark Spirit gender.
"Yeah! I thought so, but someone I know got mugged this time, and it was Dark Spirit!"
"……Wasn't he just mugged?"
They've been swiveling their chairs around since morning and talking eagerly.
I wanted to talk to them about something, but apparently the rumor about Dark Spirit had already spread to them.
As I sit down, Jin-woo turns his head toward me in frustration.
"Boss, the kids don't believe me!"
"Not again."
It was Se-ah who replied.
"Well, he's saying some weird shit about Dark Spirit or something coming to Korea. What? A villain that no one's ever seen before? He’s not even sure what gender it is or what it looks like."
Young-jae nods, pushing up his glasses in agreement.
"You can't say they ‘exist' if they're unobserved, they're just rumors."
"No, the people who've been attacked are real! They're famous in the underworld! And this time, they said it was Dark Spirit!"
"Of course it's an impersonation, he's not some cartoon character, why would he go around saying, ‘I'm Batman'?"
"He is. He's Dark Spirit."
"What?"
"Huh?"
The kids looked at me in surprise, as if they hadn't expected that answer to come out of my mouth.
"There is a villain called Dark Spirit?"
"Is Eugene the kind of person who believes in rumors like that?"
The kind of person who believes in rumors…… that's too much.
"The last time our cafe was robbed, Latte told me about it."
"La, by Latte, you mean the girl who works at Cielo Notturno? Is that what you were talking about the other day?"
The children all remember the time the café was burglarized, so when I tell them that it was Dark Spirit, they look at me in surprise.
"He's registered as an official villain with the Hero Association, and he's in Korea……Well, he's probably right, isn't he? Most villains are afraid of Dark Spirit, so they don't go out of their way to impersonate him."
This created a very favorable environment for me to impersonate Dark Spirit.
And in order for that to happen, the rumors about Dark Spirit had to continue to spread.
The more the name became a symbol of fear, the more likely my plan would succeed.
"It's kind of scary when even Eugene says that……."
"Yeah, that means there really is such a scary villain out there."
“Yaaah! No one believed what I said, so why do you believe what the boss says?!”
"Well, it's Eugene, isn't it?"
"Yeah, because he's the boss."
"Yaaah!!!"
Jin-woo is thumping his chest like he's about to explode with frustration.
"Shut up, everyone! Teacher Ji-hyun is out of town today, so I'm temporarily in charge of Class A."
It was much earlier than when Ji-hyun usually came in.
The class is silent as Park Yoon-ho, a first-year teacher, enters the room.
He turned his head to look at us.
"Looks like everyone’s here……there are 20 minutes until the first period starts."
He checked the clock on his wrist for a moment, furrowed his brow as if pondering something, and then looked back up at us.
"Take your pick. Take a 10-minute break, finish the class on time, and then take another 10-minute break. Or we start fast and take a 20 minute break."
To his question, the kids in our class responded.
"""We'll take a 20 minute break!"""
As if on cue, they chose the fast start and 20 minute break.
He nodded.
"Excellent choice. There's nothing more useless than wasted time."
As he snapped his fingers, the shape of the class slowly collapsed and began to transform into a new place.
‘Villainology'.
The phenomenon signaled the beginning of his class.
"The villain we will be studying today is a villain from the past, a villain known as the Black Butterfly."
At the same time, a human form floated up beside him, an ordinary woman.
"Black Butterfly is the codename she used during her mercenary career, and she became a villain after her awakening. Her activities usually involved the assassination of political figures but mostly assassinations of celebrities and heroes."
In other words, an assassin-type villain.
It's no wonder why he chose to bring Black Butterfly to the topic of Villainology.
‘The Academy heard the rumors about Dark Spirit and they must have verified that it's true.’
Since they had allowed a villain to attack earlier in the semester, they had to teach about a villain similar to Dark Spirit, just in case.
"The scene we're about to explore is nine years ago. A Cuban general was assassinated. I'm going to recreate the scene in detail. And your job there is simple."
-Click!
With a snap of his fingers, the grayish ceiling transforms into a clear blue sky.
At the same time, palm trees and large plants begin to rise all around.
Upbeat music fills the air, creating a party atmosphere.
"Identify Black Butterfly among these people now and think of a way to save the General from her."
As if to announce the start of a lesson the paused bystanders begin to dance to the upbeat music.
"You expect me to find an assassin in this crowd?"
"We’re busy since the first period……!"
The kids are bewildered by the frenzied singing and dancing.
‘……Isn't it too easy?’
It was too easy for me.
