I Became A Side Character Fated To Suffer-Chapter 14:The Real Face Of Noel De Nova
Brutal slaughter...
Except that nothing came into their mind...
Vandalized, brutally broken, tattered limbs and crushed headless bodies piled up on top of one another to form a small mound, upon which a man sat holding a bloody crimson sword while pointing a firearm at them.
And around him, drafted was a bloody trail circled and decorated with the heads of corpses that had their eyes opened in disbelief, like asking what sin did they commit to deserve this.
Noticing the expression of horror, the man opened his lips.
"I didn’t plan all this, but I was bored, so I needed to do something to pass my time, right?"
His purple hair swayed, and a gleeful smile etched on his face, contrary to the emotionless eyes eyeing them like a cruel executioner.
It was a shocking scene, but everything was lacking compared to the person’s identity itself.
The world-renowned Garbage...
The Trash of Nova...
Noel De Nova...
That was the identity of the person reigning over the horror that had been cast.
"YOU... WH... WHAT ARE YOU?"
"Tsk! Again with this cliché question?"
"Why do humans tend to ask the same stupid question when things go beyond their expectations?"
Clicking his tongue, Noel put the gun back into his dimensional storage.
"Now just come at me... I promise I won’t be using a gun. After all, each bullet contains the grounded core of bronze-rank monsters. I can’t use it on you."
"Why?" Kai asked, trying to draw the conversation while signaling someone with his eyes.
Particularly the person on the ground who had stealth capacity.
"Why?" Noel muttered the question and laughed.
"PFT!"
"Of course, it’s because you aren’t worth it..."
Noel’s words struck their hearts.
Anger burned in everyone’s heart; after all, never in their life would they think they would be ridiculed by the person whom everyone mocked.
Why was Noel hated so much?
From the mana fluctuation the person emitted, he was just an Iron rank.
An Iron rank at the age of 18 wasn’t bad, but it was considered bad when the person hailed from a noble bloodline.
No, it was worse than bad.
Because with so many resources, even the trashiest of trash could reach a higher level.
The reason was none other than jealousy.
They were bloody sure that even reaching Iron rank, some forbidden things must have been used. After all, the declaration that the Son of Nova didn’t have mana affinity was a national, no... it was an international sensation.
Most of the commoners and among the lowest groups of secret groups were at the very least at Brass rank. While they had to roll throughout their lives to get stronger, this man had been enjoying all the riches.
So, why was life unfair?
Why was someone like this trash treated as equal to the Prince of Empire while they, as low-level commoners, suffered?
Kai didn’t let his anger and jealousy cloud his thoughts.
"How did you find this place?"
Noel smiled, and instead of answering, he grabbed the hilt of the sword in his left hand and then turned around abruptly, swinging his sword.
"Did you think I’m cannon fodder?"
SWISH!
Turning around, Noel slashed with swift speed like lightning.
CRUNG!
The space distorted, and an image of a man with a dagger aiming at Noel’s neck appeared, but before it could reach him, Noel’s sword passed through the man’s neck, swiftly cutting off the head.
Seeing the man’s body still descending, Noel twisted his torso and gave a high kick.
His sole slammed onto the man’s chest and sent him flying, while the head flew in a straight line and tumbled on the floor, leaving a ghastly blood trail.
With Noel turning back, Kai felt that he found an opening and ordered, "Everyone go and stab him."
His voice hadn’t even faded when, like bullets, the group of men shot out.
Even without turning back, Noel raised his right hand.
From afar, Kai spotted a small button in Noel’s that gave him a bad premonition.
And to prove his thought, the moment the man clicked it, a disgruntled and screaming groan started to echo in pain.
"Hieeek!"
"Kieek!"
"Kyakkk!"
The men who entered froze like statues for a moment and then started flapping like fish out of water. Their jaws opened wide, with their mouths curling in various shapes to emit screams as heavenly energy started tearing through their bodies.
As for the identity of the heavenly energy, it was an electric current. If one looked at the ground carefully, except for the blood-circled marks around Noel, all around the floor lay tiny dotted circular metal pieces, each radiating a deadly electric shock capable of freezing a human brain.
As for the reason it didn’t affect the inside of the circle Noel stood in, it was because, using blood as a medium, an isolating magic circle had been drawn by Noel.
Noel kicked the body, turned around, and gasped as he saw Kai blasting through the bodies of his men and appearing right before him, slashing with a scream.
"You didn’t expect that, did you?" Kai sneered.
Reacting immediately, he yanked the sword in his left hand and defended.
BANG!
A strong force assaulted him, throwing him off balance and pushing him back with great force. Noel’s foot dragged back, and then he stumbled upon the bodies laid behind him.
’Shit! Is that what people meant when they said falling into our own traps?’
’I expected someone with lightning aptitude who can resist. Unfortunately, I didn’t think that head would be one.’
"How unlucky!"
Using force to counter the effect, Noel spun, toppling back while throwing a kick.
BANG!
The kick connected to the man’s torso, throwing him in surprise, and as he turned alongside Noel, he was sent flying.
He was surprised both by the sudden counter and by the physical strength of a mere Iron core.
However, after years of experience, he landed on the ceiling on his feet and used his legs as a spring. He shot down at Noel with a frightening burst of power that created a crack in the rocky ceiling.
"Shit!"
Noel cursed, drawing his sword to defend.
BOOM!
A faint blast echoed, and the force pushed him back again, dragging him across the floor for some distance.
Thankfully, he had shut off the lightning spikes.
Kai pulled back his sword to slash again, but—
As soon as the dragging stopped, clenching his right fist, Noel threw a straight jab at Kai’s face.
Snickering, Kai slightly tilted his head to the side to dodge.
But as soon as he did, a smirk flashed on Noel’s lips, catching him off guard. He grasped his sword to counter anything the man was about to do, but he didn’t expect Noel to raise his feet and slam his leg towards his groin.
Kai’s eyes almost popped out, and he tried to defend, but in mid-air, Noel changed direction and hit Kai’s thigh with a burst of power.
"KHUMM!"
A groan escaped from his lips, and his posture bent forward. At the same time, Noel had gone to the side, and he lashed out, slamming his palm on Kai’s cheek.
SLAP!
The slap was in no way light, as it blew the lights off Kai’s mind, causing him to feel dizzy as he wondered what kind of fighting style this was.
Unconventional and looking pathetic, yet it completely threw him off.
Kai shook his head and gritted his teeth to regain his composure, but by that time, something impaled his chest.
PFFTT!
Blood spurted like a fountain, and his vision was greeted by the menacing, glaring expression of a purple-eyed man.
"H..How?"
"You don’t need to know that, but you just need to know one thing."
"I don’t care about your motives, nor do I care why you kidnapped them, but how dare you scratch my face... You know, this is the only good thing I have, yet you dare..."
BANG!
Noel kicked the guy, pulled his sword out, and then swung it, hacking the man into pieces.
"Also, fuck you all.."
"At least for the face of the Grand Duke, can’t you say that you also wanted to kidnap me."
"Now tomorrow, all those newspapers will print that even kidnappers don’t want to take the trash away..... ARghhhhh!"
