I Became A Side Character Fated To Suffer-Chapter 30:Anyone Else Want To Introduce Himself
"You people really hate learning." He clicked his tongue.
The claws ripped through the air, fast and deadly. But Noel simply stepped forward with one small step and extended his palm, which pressed lightly against Sunta’s chest. It looked harmless, almost gentle.
Then—
THOOOOM!!!
A shockwave exploded from Noel’s palm. Sunta’s eyes bulged.
"G—!"
His massive body flew backward like a cannonball. He smashed through the ground and blasted against a wooden dummy in the background.
CRACK!
Then another.
CRUNCH!
Then a third.
BOOM!
The dummies shattered into splinters as Sunta crashed into the dirt thirty feet away. The entire field went silent and even the wind seemed to stop.
Noel dusted his sleeve calmly.
"Two loud mouths."
He glanced down. Theasre lay half-buried in the dirt beneath his boot, his face swollen and bleeding. Sunta groaned weakly in the distance among broken dummies.
Noel tilted his head slightly.
"Zero bites."
Then he pressed his boot harder on Theasre’s back.
CRUNCH.
The man screamed again.
"AAAH—!"
Noel looked around the training field slowly. Hundreds of cadets stood frozen and no one dared move. Noel spread his arms slightly as a proud grin spread across his face.
"Come on."
His voice carried across the entire field.
"You were all laughing earlier."
He looked down at Theasre and then kicked him aside like trash.
THUD.
Theasre rolled across the dirt.
Noel stepped forward.
"Surely this academy has someone better than these two decorative punching bags."
He cracked his neck slowly.
"Or is everyone here just good at barking?"
His eyes gleamed with mocking amusement.
"Now does anyone else want to introduce themselves?"
The cadets swallowed their saliva, wondering what this was.
What the fuck was this?
Isn’t he just a simple Iron ranker, so how did he pummel two Brass-ranked fighters who were two levels ahead?
This was bullshit.
Just as they were wondering what was going on, a streak of light cut through the air and slammed onto the ground, creating a loud blast that shook away dust and debris.
From the thick cloud of dust, a figure slowly stepped forward.
Boots touched the ground with a heavy thud.
The air itself seemed to ripple.
Then—
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Each clap created a faint shockwave that pushed the dust away like invisible rings spreading across water.
"Hahahahaha!"
A loud, unrestrained laugh echoed across the training field.
"That’s some crazy shit... I like it... I absolutely love it."
The dust finally cleared.
A tall man stood there with a crooked posture and a wide grin that looked half insane and half amused. A deep scar ran across his shaved head like a crack in stone, making his appearance even more intimidating.
He stared directly at Noel.
His eyes sparkled with interest.
"Cadet Noel," he said while pointing lazily toward him.
"That was an excellent display of combat awareness, brutality, and complete disrespect for hierarchy."
He paused for a second.
Then grinned wider.
"For that reason... I will award you 50 points."
The entire field exploded into noise.
"What?!"
"That’s crazy!"
"He beat two cadets and gets rewarded?!"
"This is cheating, Sir Austin!" one cadet shouted angrily.
"They fought without permission! They should be punished!"
"Wait... did you say Austin?"
"Instructor Austin?!"
"Is that him?!"
"The one with the cracked head?"
"Shut up, idiot! Do you want to die?!"
"Damn... it’s really him..."
Ignoring the chaos completely, Austin casually walked toward the battlefield.
His boots crushed broken wood and dirt as he reached the two fallen fighters.
First he crouched near Sunta.
He grabbed the beastman’s chin and turned his face left and right like examining damaged merchandise.
"Hmmm."
Then he slapped Sunta lightly.
Smack.
Sunta groaned.
Austin tilted his head.
"Son of the Mercenary King..."
He then glanced at Theasre lying in the dirt.
"...and the heir of the Beastman tribe."
He scratched his chin thoughtfully.
"I thought you two were some big shots."
He stood up slowly and looked down at them. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"So why are you so weak?"
Noel nodded seriously beside him.
"That’s what I’m thinking too."
Austin blinked once.
Then burst out laughing again.
"Hahahahaha!"
Noel crossed his arms and looked down at them with pure disdain.
"Quite pathetic pieces of shit, they are."
"Barking so much only to end up like this."
He nudged Theasre with his foot."Really bullshit."
The surrounding cadets gasped.
"Did he just call them that?!"
"That’s the Beastking heir!"
"And the Mercenary King’s son!"
"This guy is insane!"
"No... that instructor is even crazier!"
Meanwhile Austin suddenly turned around toward the cadets.
His expression changed instantly.
His grin became wide and slightly terrifying.
"Listen up, chickens."
The entire field froze.
"...What?"
"Chicken?"
"Did he just call us chickens?"
"Yes, you heard it right," Austin said proudly.
"Chickens."
He spread his arms dramatically.
"Look at you all."
"Clucking around, making noise, puffing your feathers..."
He leaned forward slightly.
"...but the moment real claws appear, half of you freeze like decorative statues."
Some cadets clenched their fists.
Others looked furious.
Others looked terrified.
Austin scratched the back of his cracked head.
’They probably don’t like me either,’ he thought casually.
But that was fine.
He had been infamous for years.
After a while, you get used to people wanting to stab you.
Then he suddenly clapped once loudly.
CLAP!
"Anyway!"
"Before I introduce myself properly, I have a proposal for the cadets."
The students stared at him.
"...?"
Austin grinned like a madman.
"If anyone has doubts about my abilities as an instructor..."
He stretched his arms like he was warming up for exercise.
"Now is the time to draw your weapons."
"I’ll take you all on."
The field went silent.
Then he added casually,
"And for the record..."
"If any of you manage to defeat me..."
He pointed to himself proudly.
"You’ll earn the opportunity to use me whenever you need help."
He paused dramatically.
"And I’ll also award you 100 points."
For one second no one moved.
Then—
SHING!
Blades were drawn everywhere and a sharp pressure radiated from the cadets.
Half the cadets instantly prepared to attack.
Austin blinked seeing this.
"...Damn."
He sighed deeply.
"At least let me finish my sentence."
