I Became an Ant Lord, So I Built a Hive Full of Beauties-Chapter 192: New Skill?
Chapter 192: 192: New Skill?
---
The chitin cracked where it pierced. A spiderweb of stress lines burst around the wound.
The other limb curled up toward Kai’s throat.
He blocked it but the blow dented his arm. His bicep exoplate actually bent, warping inward with a metallic groan.
Akayoroi screamed. "Nooooo!"
Vel stared in horror. "No... that’s not possible..." freeweɓnovel~cѳm
"Do something!" Naaro shouted.
Azhara’s ears flattened against her skull. Her claws itched. "I can’t believe my eyes..." she hissed.
And then came the acid.
The Frog-Prince opened his main mouth. It was drooling with thick mucus like a bursting sewer line and unleashed a cone of caustic green miasma directly over Kai’s pinned form.
SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH—
It sounded like boiling oil poured over bone. It hissed. It burned. It ate through the air.
Kai’s chestplate began to melt.
Green smoke curled from the lines across his abdomen. Etched runes glowed. Veins boiled with internal heat. Chitin warped and cracked. Molten trails ran from the seams like lava erupting from a fractured shield.
Kai’s mandibles clenched. His legs spasmed. His eyes dimmed—just a flicker.
Akayoroi’s hand flew to her chest. "He’s... He’s burning!"
Vel stepped back. "He’s... he’s going to die!"
"Move!" Naaro tried to rush forward but Sha held her back.
"No! Don’t interrupt the duel! We are no match for the ugly frog."
"He’s melting!"
Even the HUD behind Kai’s vision stuttered with red error symbols.
[ALERT: Body Armor Integrity 72%... 65%... 58%... Caution: Critical Heat Detected. Pain Resistance Engaged.]
The acid washed over him for three seconds. Five. Ten. The auxiliary limb twisted deeper. The sizzling grew louder. Even Kai’s breathing slowed.
The Frog-Prince laughed. "Ribk Ribk Ribk Ribk" That hideous laugh.
A gurgling warble that echoed across the crater, layered with insanity. "Your shell melts, little ant! No more counting eyes now, eh? Come on, mock me more..."
He drew back one massive claw. Raised it high. The glow from his remaining torso-eyes bathed the battlefield in red like a stage light from hell.
"DIE!"
And then Azhara moved. She didn’t shout this time. She didn’t wait. She was just... there. One moment, she stood still like a loaded spring. The next—
BOOM!
She blurred across the battlefield, darting over toppled logs, her boots leaving no sound behind. Her claws shimmered with aura, honed to the sharpness of diamond filaments.
She struck just before the blow landed.
SLASH!
One clean swipe across the elbow joint of the auxiliary limb pinning Kai.
SPLURT!
Blood and nerves burst. The limb recoiled, twitching violently.
Kai rolled, half-delirious, but still responsive, he snapped the impaled joint out of his own shoulder and flung the broken limb aside.
The air choked with acid smoke.
The Frog-Prince turned. "INTERFERING SLUT!"
His tail-tongue whipped—thick as a python, layered in jagged scales. It connected with Azhara’s side just as she leapt again.
WHACK!
She spun midair, slammed into a nearby rotten tree trunk, which exploded into mulch on impact. Her body hit the ground with a crunch.
She didn’t move for a second. Then... a cough of Blood and a grin.
"Worth it."
Kai’s form twitched. He pushed himself upright, his armor still steaming, half his chest blackened and chipped, but his eyes...
His eyes were glowing again. It was brighter, hotter, colder, And furious. All at the same time.
They flared.
Crimson rings, layered like twin eclipses, glared through the fading acid smoke. The same red pupils. The same divine menace.
Akayoroi saw them and felt her knees wobble. He’s not done. Not yet.
Mud splattered as the Frog-Prince raised both fists and slammed them down again like twin meteorites. Kai rolled his shoulders to the side, but one hammer-blow still clipped his left armguard—sending cracks skittering across its hardened shell. The force hurled him a meter deeper into the crater, ribs grinding into soft, blood slick muk.
Auxiliary arms seized the moment. They rained blows like whips—one lashing his temple, another gouging his thigh.
The Frog-Prince howled with laughter. "You break like shell fruit! I will crush your thorax and wear your antennae like trophies!"
Kai’s eyes narrowed beneath the steaming visor.
His vision blurred. Aura meters dipped. Pain signals roared. But deeper than agony, deeper than fear, a stillness coiled with tight and waiting.
Then...
[Ding! System notifications- Pain Threshold exceeded. New instinctual layer unlocked. New Skills Pain Resistance (Passive) achieved and activated..]
The HUD pulsed dimly. Something unfurled within him.
The Frog-Prince lifted Kai bodily by the throat, webbed hand clenching tight. "Goodbye, Handsome Bug. I’ll send your head back to where you came from, wrapped in leechskin!"
Azhara, still slumped against a tree root, screamed. "NO—!"
Akayoroi’s voice trembled. "Do something!"
Even Vel, normally composed, dropped her weapon. "He... he’s losing..."
The Frog-Prince opened his mouth wide, many rows of needle-fangs shimmering with acidic saliva. "I will feast on your heart first!"
But Kai’s body didn’t go limp.
It was tense.
A cold aura exploded outward—not fiery or chaotic, but refined and compressed like the edge of a blade. Steam ceased rising. The very moisture in the air recoiled.
Then...
Kai’s right claw moved.
Fast.
It wasn’t a punch—it was a declaration.
CLANG—SNAP!
The claw jammed forward and crushed the Frog-Prince’s incoming fangs in mid-chomp. Shards of molars sprayed like broken coral.
Kai spoke, low and clear.
"I. Don’t. Kneel."
His body ignited with aura—not fire, not shadow, but Monarch Pressure. His leg joints compressed, enhanced. Antennae pulsed with war-light. His wounds were slowly healing.
From within, something ancient stirred.
Not rage. Not instinct. But purpose.
It surged from his star core like molten light through a cracked shell. The cracked horn plates on his arms pulsed once—then split open like blooming obsidian petals.
Kai’s exoskeleton flared with dark-blue streaks. Subdermal plates shifted, realigning under the surge of condensed aura channels.
But it wasn’t just raw power.
It was calibration.
