I Became My Healer Elf Character-Chapter 118: Domain

The next day Hikari woke up inside of the manor with a cat girl on one arm and a dragon girl on the other. Though, when she looked around, she realized the bed was already full of girls. Mizuko and Ayase had also joined some time in the night. Hikari wanted to laugh from the scene. Her life had become something straight out of an anime.

It was also odd for all of them to be clinging to her. It made her seem like the lady of the house when that job was supposed to be reserved for the sleeping kitten next to her. Either way, she decided to use magic so that she didn't stir any of them.

She propelled herself into the air like a vampire awakening from her coffin and landed on the floor. However, her tactic was found out quickly. Each of the girls opened their eyes and looked towards the silly elf.

Hikari produced her pure white wings for the occasion, making it seem as if everything was intentional. "I have decided that I will always have these wings out while we are here. If you think about it, people here already know me. There should be no reason to hide."

Mizuko spread her own beautiful bat wings. The vampire girl landed next to her goddess and gave Hikari a hug. "There was no reason for you to hide yourself in the first place."

Kurayami joined the two of them and agreed. "Exactly, it's only normal for the mortals to want to bow in your presence. They should show you the respect you deserve even without the wings." The dragon paused before completely changing topics. "But Master, what are you going to do now? Are you planning to regain the memories you lost?"

Hikari shook her head. "I'm not entirely sure I want to regain the memories, but I would like to retrace some of my own steps. Even without the memories, there is still a lot I can do."

"But what about the rest of your domain? What will the angels think if you don't remember them?"

Hikari sighed, knowing that such a question would come. "I've thought about this problem before. Immortality comes with such a risk that one could get bored, yet what happens if someone erases their memory? In that scenario, they can start all over again. They can become friends with all of the people once more."

Kurayami nodded. "It makes sense to me, but maybe some of them will be sad. All of those memories you shared together were forgotten."

"This is the way of life. It's how mortals live, and you yourself forget things all of the time. So what if I don't remember everything? It's not like I can't get to know them all over again. Maybe I will learn something new about them that I didn't know before, or maybe the new memories will help me remember something that happened already?"

Ayase hugged the elven goddess. "Whatever you choose to do, I will support you, but you know, I am glad you were able to remember me."

The elf returned the hug. "Well yeah, most of my memories are of Earth. So all of my memories of the people here were from inside of the game. Since then, I've already shared many memories with Kurayami for example."

"That's true," the dragon said with a bright smile. "Traveling with Master in that other world was so fun. I wonder what happened to that Empire since we've been gone?"

Hikari chuckled. "I imagine that they've already fallen. Considering how long we've been here, the time over there must be a month already. We can always check on them later. It is my personal Hope that everything ended as it should."

Ayase nodded. "You mean with that older brother as the leader and hopefully the younger brother at the bottom of the sea?"

"Something like that. Either way, we should start moving soon. There are many things I want to learn here. First of all, I want to figure out how this place has a connection with Earth. This has been bugging me for the longest time, but I'm not in a hurry to learn."

The butler walked in at that exact moment and bowed. "Forgive my intrusion, but I couldn't help but hear much of the conversation. I might have a way for Lady Hikari to get a lot of answers to her questions. What I said last night is true. I have no idea about your origins, but there are people in this world who know a lot more than me. Particularly, I would look for the people who research all things to do with yourself. You can find many hermits holed up in places. I know the approximate location of a particularly devout follower of yours."

Hikari nodded. "That would be helpful. Is there a fun way to get there?"

"Pardon, Lady?"

"You heard me. I want a fun way to travel. I could easily fly there myself, but that ruins a lot of the adventure."

The butler laughed and attempted to cover his mouth. "Forgive me, Lady Hikari. I didn't expect you to say something like that." Seeing the elf wave him off, the man continued. "There is a fun way to get there. Should you wish to, this city has airships powered by magic. There should be at least one of them taking a trip to Lindle."

The man produced a map and pointed to the capital of Lindle. "If you want to take the airship, one should be able to drop you off here. Keep in mind that this is a city very much unlike the one we're in. In terms of technology, they're less advanced." Then he dragged his finger some distance away from the capital towards the wilderness. "If you continue in this direction, then you will reach a hermit somewhere in those woods. I have no idea why your follower chose this location, but they should still be around there."

Hikari nodded as her eyes looked a the location. A sudden idea popped into her head. She'd definitely been to that specific point before in the game, but why would a butler have gone all the way here to talk to a follower of hers?

Seeming to understand the doubt in her eyes, the butler continued. "There was a time when I was far more interested in the words of the gods and goddesses. In my travels, I happened upon that place. It's certainly like nothing else."

"What made you stop pursuing those things?"

"Love made me stop. You can say that's why I became a butler here."

Hikari decided not to press any further. "Well, thank you for all of the information and hospitality. We should be out of your hair pretty soon."

"Don't mention it, Lady Hikari."

The elf produced several gold coins from her inventory in a small brown sack. She placed it down on the end table. "You can take this for services rendered. I won't take no for an answer."

"You give me no way to refuse. You'd make a for a shrewd merchant if you weren't a goddess. Though, may I ask a question, Lady Hikari?"

The butler bowed. "I know you've lost much of your memories, but it would be great if I could finally know the answer to something for certain. What is your true domain?"

Hikari nodded. It didn't take her long to think of the answer. It was something she was beginning to recognize deep within herself. She understood that her domain encompassed far more than she originally thought. Was there anything preventing her from realizing it? Was it just a fear that she'd be looked upon differently? With a long breath, she finally found her voice.

"I am the Goddess of Hope in a sense, but it's much more than that. I encompass the Hope of everything in the world. The reason that probability weighs in the scales of sentient beings can be traced back to me."

The butler's eyes widened, not quite ready to believe what he was hearing. "Does this mean?"

Kurayami chuckled, waiting to provide the answer herself. "It's exactly what you think mortal. It means that Master is the strongest. Even if all of your gods came at her, none of them could touch her."

Hikari smiled wryly at her dragon. She wasn't willing to test the theory, but for some reason, she suspected there was some truth in that. After all, in her own history she'd killed a crazed goddess, and more recently she killed another goddess. In theory, Hikari countered a goddess of darkness, so that could explain her beating such a being. However, to beat such a being in one hit along with her supporters?

Moreover, Hikari remembered some things that Amelia said. The girl called her an existence that sits up above the council of gods. If that didn't make Kurayami's words true, then Hikari didn't know what would. Which made her sudden mortality on Earth all the more mysterious.
