I Became My Healer Elf Character-Chapter 133: Maxine’s BL Collection
Hikari looked at the waitress girl and sighed. The elf turned to Kurayami and thumped her on the forehead. "What are you telling her?"
"Master...Hikari, does it even matter? I thought you were more open to revealing yourself now."
The elf shook her head. "This place is completely different from either of those places…"
"Miss Hikari!" Maxine shouted. "You gave me real gold coins!"
Hikari smiled wryly. "You figured that out already, did you?"
"Yes, there is no way I can accept a tip like that so easily. Not only that, but it seems like the feds are going to look for you now."
"How did that happen?"
"I went to a pawn shop...Wait, you didn't steal those coins did you?"
The elf placed a finger on her chin and tilted her head. "I'm not sure stolen is the right term. I did raid and take them from a place I didn't necessarily own, but many of them were earned through quests. We'll just say that was questing gold."
Maxine's mouth flopped open like a fish.
"Relax, I'm joking!"
"You shouldn't joke about something like that! The feds could be watching our every move."
"It's okay. If they come for us, we'll just leave for Japan."
Maxine sighed and held a hand to her temple. "You can't just fly to Japan. How are you going to get there? Border customs at the airport would check your passport. Then the feds will be waiting for you."
"You act like I'm a criminal or something. I didn't steal them, dork. I just tactically acquired them. Besides, even if the feds were after me, it's not like flying in a plane is the only way to get there."
Maxine frowned. "Quit messing with me! Are you girls really not humans?"
The elf chuckled at the waitress. She'd had enough of teasing the poor girl, so she decided to give her a branch. "We're not humans. I'm an elf, and all of my companions come from the same world as me. You ever heard of [Gensuba]?"
Maxine's face wrinkled, trying to remember the name. She didn't even notice that while they were walking they had already reached a park. A flash of realization came over her. "That's the popular VR game! So you're cosplayers, after all!"
Hikari shrugged. "You can think of us that way if that's what makes you happy, but let me ask you then. How many cosplayers do you know that have real gold coins?"
"I don't really know any cosplayers, but I've never heard of this either. If you're really an elf, then you should let me touch your ears…"
The elf took on a more serious expression. "No one is allowed to touch my ears except for these four."
"Then how am I supposed to prove that you are what you say you are? Ever heard of the scientific method?"
Hikari sighed and pointed at a nearby bench. "Sit there. I will prove that I am what I say I am, and then you will go on about your life the same as before."
"How can I go on with my life the same as before with all of that gold? I'm going to buy a house with that money."
"Fine, I'll prove we are what we say we are, and you will show us to your apartment."
"What?"
"Well, Syndra's apartment burned down, so we need somewhere we can think."
Maxine nodded and took a seat on the metal park bench.
Hikari looked around and made sure that no one was watching. She focused on the inventory within herself and produced an apple. The apple appeared in her hand.
Maxine's eyes widened, but logically she couldn't believe it. "A magic trick?"
"This is real magic. Taste the apple, and if you don't believe me then the next magic trick will be removing your hand. Though...I specialize in healing, so I could fix it right up."
Maxine's face filled with terror and she shook her head rapidly. "I believe you! I believe you! I believe you!"
Hikari burst into a fit of laughter. "Shut up and try the apple already."
"I can't believe you would joke about something like that! You're so mean…"
Either way, Maxine took a bite of the apple, and her face glistened with glee. She chewed and smiled.
"This is really good…I've never had an apple so delicious before."
"Well, it came from our home world...Now, it's time for you to honor the bargain."
Maxine pointed across the street towards an apartment building. "I live in that one."
The waitress led them inside of her complex while finishing the apple. Her room ended up being on the 5th floor, but this place was far more run down than Syndra's. Though despite everything, Maxine still kept the inside as pristine as she could. Moreover, the woman had a bunch of old gaming equipment.
She had a gaming PC inside of her room, decked out with pink. Everything was painted that color, including the mouse pad which had a cute decoration of kittens. On a shelf nearby, Maxine had a whole library of manga, and many of them seemed to be rated 18. It seemed that he girl had a strong BL preference.
Maxine blushed in realization of what she was showing complete strangers.
Though, Hikari ignored it and decided to lighten her mood. "You have a nice setup here. It's sort of retro without VR."
Kurayami thumbed through one of Maxine's books. "Master, there really are a bunch of drawings in this book."
"I told you that this world had those things, and I told you not to call me that anymore. You're my equal now that we're engaged."
Maxine ignored that the dragon was thumbing through her book and focused on what Hikari said. "You two are engaged? You're gay?"
"Yeah, is that a problem?"
Maxine shook her head. "No, I like gay people. I'm not gay myself, but I've always had an interest in boys love. I always wanted to visit Japan and see if I could broaden my collection. The only bad thing is I don't understand Japanese."
Hikari shrugged. "I could easily teach you something like that." The elf walked towards the computer desk, noticing the camera and microphone. Nearby on the ground there was sound canceling equipment placed in bags. "You planned on streaming?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, I've already been streaming, but I don't get many viewers. The few that I do get complain about the echo. I wanted to set these up all around my room."
Kurayami interrupted their conversation and pointed to a particularly lewd illustration of two boys. "Master...Hikari, where your from are there books like this with girls?"
"Of course, yuri is a popular genre." freewebnσvel.cѳm
Maxine looked at the two of them confused. "I'm not really understanding where you come from. You have a lot of knowledge about this world, and she doesn't. Why is that?"
"It's quite simple. You could say I got isekaid. At the same time, you could say not, but the truth is that I lived in Japan. Syndra here is actually from New York, so she has much more in common with you."
"Really?"
Syndra nodded. "My room was the one in that house that got burned down. It seems that my transfer caused a great change to me." The girl looked suspiciously towards the fairy goddess.
"Don't look at me! It was necessary to bring you over there."
Maxine smiled. "Wow, it feels like I just entered a fairy tale."
"Right," Hikari said, "before you can become too excited, we need to borrow money to stay in a hotel."
"That's really no problem, but it would be easier if you all could just stay here."
Hikari looked at the ground and the small apartment and shook her head. "I don't think that would be possible. Besides, if money is an issue, I can always give you more gold."
"No! Don't do that! You've already given me enough. I honestly just want to give it all back."
"No takesies backsies. Isn't that a saying here? You can just consider it as me giving you a boost to your streaming career. Now you'll be able to afford a house with a whole studio for streaming."
"People don't just gift people whole houses!" Maxine shouted and finally yanked the manga out of Kurayami's hands. "And you! Stop reading that!"
Hikari laughed. "You don't need to be so modest. You gave us a great service at the coffee shop, but now you won't need to work there, and you could even move to Japan if you want. I'll teach you the language."
Maxine frowned. "I'm not really into girls…"
"I wasn't hitting on you!"
The waitress stuck out her tongue. "It feels good to get you back for all of this." Maxine reached into a small drawer of her desk and pulled out a wad of cash. "This is all that I've saved up from working as a waitress. You can keep all of it."
"Thank you."
