I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal-Chapter 48 - 48 Misunderstanding
48 Misunderstanding
Shen Yin rubbed the space between her eyebrows in frustration. “Yun Shan, the grudge between us has nothing to do with my son. Don’t hurt him. As long as you return him to me, I’ll let you have Lian Jing.”
“Are you serious?” Yun Shan smiled in surprise. “But I don’t trust you. You have to call Lian Jing now and make things clear, then send me a recording. That way, your son will be safe and sound. How about that? Your son is obviously more important than a man, right?”
To Shen Yin, Shen Nian was definitely more important than Lian Jing. If she had to choose between the two of them, she would choose Shen Nian without hesitation.
However, she did not trust Yun Shan.
Shen Yin gripped her cell phone, her gaze becoming more and more determined. “I can promise to do that, but I need assurance that my son is safe first. Let me speak to him.”
Yun Shan was stunned for a moment. She felt guilty, so she deliberately raised her voice and replied, “What can I possibly do to him? As long as you do as I say, I’ll let your son go home safely. Otherwise, you can forget about ever seeing him again!” ƒr𝙚𝙚𝘸e𝚋𝐧૦ѵ𝒆𝒍.𝒄𝒐m
With that, she hung up decisively, afraid that her lie would be exposed if she continued to talk to Shen Yin.
Of course she had not kidnapped Shen Nian. She had not even recovered from the shock she received that morning, so she was not in the mood to deal with Shen Yin or even scheme to kidnap her son.
However, since Shen Yin had misunderstood, she certainly would not let this opportunity pass.
By the time Shen Yin found out the truth, she would already have drawn a line in the sand with Lian Jing. Considering Lian Jing’s temper, he certainly would not want a woman who did not know what was good for her, and who had broken up with him.
Once Lian Jing abandoned her, he would never turn back, no matter how much Shen Yin regretted it. Then Yun Shan would be the only woman left by Lian Jing’s side!
Yun Shan felt great when she thought about how Shen Yin would blame herself and regret it in the future!
After hanging up, Shen Yin did not dare to delay. She immediately called Lian Jing.
The call was quickly picked up. A familiar low voice sounded in her ear. “Yin Yin, did you miss me? I just arrived at the police station. Come down. I’ll take you to dinner.”
“Lian Jing.” Shen Yin paused for a moment before clicking the recording button. She took a deep breath and steadied her voice. “Let’s not meet again in the future. We’re not from the same world. Nothing will come of this. Goodbye.”
“I dare to say that again.” Lian Jing’s face darkened. He heard the beeping sound coming from her cell phone, and he narrowed his eyes and coldly walked into the police station.
Shen Yin followed Yun Shan’s request and sent her the recording. Yun Shan quickly replied, “Wait.”
As the seconds ticked by, Shen Yin’s mind was thrown into further turmoil.
Ever since she said those words to Lian Jing, she felt something to the contrary.
This emotion had been jammed in her heart. As it grew, it finally formed a stream of tears that flowed from her eyes.
“Yin Yin! What should I do? I’ve searched the entire mall, but I still can’t find Nian Nian.” Li Zi had been anxiously running around the mall. When she finally saw Shen Yin and how forlorn she looked, herself blamed even more.
Shen Yin did not know where this emotion had come from. She mechanically clicked on the voice message sent by Zou Sheng, but she did not get the answer she wanted.
Zou Sheng said that the surveillance cameras in this mall did not capture that particular corner, and the surveillance cameras facing the exit had not been repaired, so the cameras had not captured any traces of Shen Nian.
Shen Yin thanked him softly, then patted Li Zi’s shoulder and comforted her softly. “It’s alright, Nian Nian should be fine.”
“How did you know? Did you find him?” Li Zi grabbed her arm anxiously. Seeing that she was in a strange mood, she asked worriedly, “Did something else happen? Don’t… don’t cry.”
Shen Yin shook her head, feeling empty and uncomfortable. “Nothing. Let’s go home first.”
Although Li Zi still had some doubts in her heart, she judged from Shen Yin’s expression that she knew where Nian Nian was. Her heart finally stopped racing.
“Okay, let’s go home. We’ll talk when you’re in a better mood.”
Li Zi coaxed her as she brought her to the car.
Along the way, Shen Yin kept sending messages to Yun Shan, requesting to see Shen Nian.
However, for some reason, Yun Shan would reply to her perfunctorily in the beginning, but later on, she did not reply at all.
Shen Yin was jolted out of her grief. An ominous feeling rose in her heart.
