I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 112: A Great Performer (1)
"One day, there will be many tribes far stronger than you. And when that time comes, you’ll realize too late that all you’ve done is create enemies," Roxanna said in a cold voice.
"Mr. Tiger, you really underestimate people who have suffered the same pain. When victims share that kind of hurt, their bond becomes strong, even stronger than anything else. And once they have nothing left to lose, they will do anything to destroy you and your people."
The more Roxanna spoke, the quieter Jarva became. His face slowly turned pale. She spoke like a great shaman who could see the future, and her words didn’t sound like a guess at all. It felt like she was describing something that would truly happen.
Well, there was always a possibility that it would happen. After all, history that she studied in the modern world often showed that pattern.
When colonized countries formed a union, it would be the end of the colonizers’ reign. She had even read history about a great conqueror whose head was eventually cut off after all of his victims united and ganged up on him.
If humans could do something like that, then beastkins—creatures with wild instincts—could be even more ruthless and cruel.
"Are you... are you some kind of great shaman?" Jarva asked, his voice uneasy. "Did you just curse me?!"
"Curse you?" Roxanna was about to say it was only a prediction. But then, another idea crossed her mind. "Yes," she said simply. "I did."
Her expression became calm and flat as she looked straight into Jarva’s eyes. "I can even make you kneel before me."
[I didn’t know I could sound that scary...] Roxanna thought. [But what if he isn’t afraid? I don’t think I’m that frightening.]
In truth, Roxanna wasn’t a cruel person at all. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Even in the past, people would laugh whenever she tried to look angry.
But right now, she was using evil Roxanna’s body, a body that had carried an evil spirit for years.
Even when she only lowered her voice and narrowed her eyes a little, no one dared to laugh. Her voice could sound cute at times, and the way she spoke was usually soft. But once she turned serious, it felt like she became a completely different person.
[Do you want to see your expression now, Host?] The system suddenly popped up a hologram mirror in front of her face, making Roxanna startle a bit.
[Why does my face look so terrifying?!] Roxanna shouted in her mind. [With a face like this, I don’t even need a Halloween costume!]
However, this was actually a good sign. It meant Jarva would truly believe she was being serious, and that she wasn’t as soft and harmless as he thought.
Jarva climbed down from his horse and strode toward her. "I think..." he said with a sharp laugh, "you’re just talking nonsense!"
On purpose, he lifted his large sword and rested it on his shoulder, trying to look fearless. "A great shaman? My ass!" he snapped. "I’ve never even seen one with my own eyes! They only exist in legends!"
Roxanna didn’t flinch. Instead, she spoke calmly inside her mind. [System, I want to activate the skill "Emergency Command Seal."]
The system answered right away. [Skill Activated: Emergency Command Seal.]
[Say your command.]
Roxanna’s lips curved into a small smile, and when Jarva finally stood right in front of her—close enough that she could clearly see the anger in his eyes—she gave her command.
"Kneel."
Roxanna said the word in a soft voice, but the moment it left her lips, something strange happened. It felt like the air around them became heavier, and it affected Jarva badly.
Jarva’s mocking smile froze on his face. His fingers tightened around the sword handle as if he wanted to fight the force pushing down on him. His knees trembled once, then twice. He bared his teeth, trying to resist, but his body betrayed him.
"N-No...!" he growled, his voice full of anger and disbelief.
A moment later, Jarva dropped to one knee. His sword slipped from his shoulder, and the tip hit the ground with a dull clang. His whole body shook, as if he was being crushed under the weight of a mountain no one else could see.
Roxanna didn’t move. She only stared at him calmly, as if this was the most natural thing in the world, while Jarva’s eyes widened in horror.
Behind him, the tiger beastkins also went stiff. They stared at Roxanna with pure disbelief, like they couldn’t accept what they were seeing.
There was no way a little fox could make a great tiger leader kneel before her!
Honestly, Roxanna didn’t want to waste that one-time-use skill on something as trivial as this. However, she realized that this little performance would definitely bring her many advantages in the future.
"So, Jarva..." Roxanna took a step forward, then leaned down so she could clearly see his face, so close that she could see every bit of tension in his eyes. "...do you believe me now? Do you believe that I’m a great shaman who can curse you anytime I want?"
"Right now, I’m only making you kneel," she continued. "But who knows what I can do next?"
Then she lifted her gaze, looking past Jarva, straight at the Black Fang members standing behind him.
"If I want to, I can make your entire tribe suffer from an illness that can’t be cured. I can make all of you so weak that other tribes could attack you without fear." Her lips curved slightly, but there was no warmth in it. "And heaven knows what will happen to you and your tribe once that day comes."
Jarva’s breathing turned rough because deep down, he knew Roxanna wasn’t just trying to scare him.
Jarva and his tribe had done too many cruel things to others. They had destroyed settlements, taken land, enslaved beastkins, and made countless people suffer.
So Jarva understood better than anyone that it wasn’t impossible for the same fate to come back and hit them one day.
