I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!-Chapter 137: One Minute Away
She held her breath. "So both of them are in danger," she whispered.
Luan could move well, even in deep snow. But he would get cold easily.
Cyrus, on the other hand, could last longer in low temperatures. But if his wings froze or got hurt, he wouldn’t be able to fly or escape.
Either way, neither of them was truly safe.
Roxanna closed her eyes for a second. Then she took a deep breath. "I’ll go to Luan first," she said softly but firmly. "He can’t stay in the cold for too long."
If she remembered correctly, Luan was carrying backpack number one, while Cyrus had number two. The number was printed clearly on the back of the backpack in bright yellow, so it was impossible for her to forget.
"Take me to bag number one," Roxanna added.
[Route marked: Bag number 1.]
A glowing line appeared on the panel, pointing toward Luan’s location.
She actually didn’t want to choose between her two husbands. But based on the animal documentaries she had watched before, birds had a better chance of surviving longer in cold environments.
That was because birds had very dense and thick feathers that worked as heat insulation. Meanwhile, a cat with short fur like Luan wouldn’t be able to survive in extreme cold for too long.
"Please... I hope both of them will be okay," she muttered to herself.
Before leaving, she quickly bought three winter coats from the system’s market. One was for herself, and the other two would be kept for her husbands later. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

She quickly put on the gloves and the new winter coat before stepping into the snow.
After the avalanche, luckily, the weather seemed better. At least, there were no signs of another snowstorm coming anytime soon.
However, she still couldn’t be sure, because the weather in this world was truly unpredictable.
[Host, do you want me to play some music to accompany your journey?] the system suddenly asked.
[Since the system is inside your head, you can listen to music without making any noise in the real world.]
Roxanna raised an eyebrow and laughed. "You’ve had music all this time? Why didn’t you say anything?"
[Because it wasn’t important for your mission, Host. But since you’re alone right now, listening to music might help you feel less nervous,] the system replied.
Roxanna laughed softly. "That’s not a bad idea."
A moment later, cheerful pop music filled her mind, and the fast rhythm helped push away her fear and sadness. Without realizing it, she began to hum along as she walked. Sometimes, she even sang quietly to herself, just to keep her thoughts from sinking into worry.
She kept walking toward the west, ignoring the cold that kept biting into her skin and bones.
Still, even though loud music was playing inside her head, her thoughts were still filled with her husbands. That feeling became even worse when she noticed that Luan’s position was stuck in one place.
The red dot wasn’t moving at all, and Roxanna was sure that was a bad sign.
Meanwhile, the red dot showing Cyrus’s position was still moving a little. It seemed that he was pacing around to keep himself warm. He probably guessed that Roxanna could find him, so he decided to wait instead of wandering around and reducing their chances of meeting.
[Estimated time to reach Bag Number One: 5 minutes.]
Roxanna asked the system to turn off the music in her head and began observing her surroundings carefully.
Her fox ears twitched as she tried to catch any sound, no matter how faint.
[Damn it! All I see is white snow!] Roxanna complained in her mind.
[Shit! Shit! Shit! I’m only one minute away from Luan now. Doesn’t that mean I’m really close to him? Or... am I standing right above him?]
She stopped walking and lowered her head.
There was a chance that Luan was buried under the snow.
But where should she dig?
"Luan!" she decided to shout. "LUAAAN!!"
She called his name again and again until her throat felt sore. Even so, she didn’t care. The only thing on her mind was finding her husband buried in the snow.
Fortunately, her efforts weren’t wasted. Not long after she kept calling his name, Roxanna heard a faint sound of someone digging upward.
The sound was very weak and almost impossible to hear, but it was enough to give her hope.
She pressed her ears closer to the snow’s surface and shouted again, "LUAN! KEEP DIGGING!"
She held her breath and listened to the scratching sound coming from below. Without wasting another second, Roxanna moved directly above the sound and began digging with her bare hands.
Snow flew everywhere as she scooped and pushed it aside. "Hold on!" she cried. "I’m coming! Don’t stop!"
When the scraping sound from below could no longer be heard, Roxanna dug even faster. "Just a little more!" she encouraged him. "You’re doing great! Don’t give up!"
After digging for a while, she finally saw a hand sticking out from the pile of snow. His skin looked very pale, but at least his fingers were still moving, even if slowly.
Roxanna immediately dug deeper until she was able to find Luan’s face buried in the snow. He was barely breathing when she found him, and his face was also extremely pale.
She quickly pulled him up and rubbed his cold face with the new gloves.
"It’s alright. It’s alright. I will warm you up," Roxanna repeated again and again, whether to comfort Luan or herself.
She wrapped her arms around him and pressed his head to her chest, sharing her warmth. She placed the heating stone between his hands, then took off his jacket, which was dirty and wet from the snow, so she could put the new one on him.
"Luan! Luan! You... you’re still alive, right?!" Roxanna patted his cheeks because she wasn’t getting any response.
