I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 716 - 494: Stunning_2
Boss Chen greeted Xia Liang with a cupped fist salute and asked.
Xia Liang returned the salute and said, "I am Chen Ke. I have no master; I'm just a self-taught amateur."
Hearing Xia Liang's incredibly boastful words, everyone applauded and cheered.
…
"Cut! We got it!" Cao Yi said with a smile. "Xia Liang, your acting was superb! It's rare for someone to pass a scene on the first take without any mistakes, especially on their first film! Your magic was also spectacular! I can't believe that just by showing you the script, you could perform the exact magic I envisioned! Amazing!"
Xia Liang's performance was completely natural, as if he wasn't playing a character but simply being himself. Composed and elegant, confident and poised.
Most importantly, his positioning was perfect. Very few actors could instinctively find the camera's position and present their best angle to it right from the start. Many newcomers constantly missed their marks, and it was common for them to block the camera.
He was simply a born actor.
"Filming with you really saves on film stock," Cao Yi said with a laugh. "We don't even need any retakes."
At that moment, Wen Bin and Yi Fei also walked over.
"Master Xia, your acting was truly impressive! You don't seem like a newcomer at all! You're more like a veteran actor with years of experience!" Wen Bin praised.
"You flatter me," Xia Liang said modestly.
"I'm just telling the truth. Right, Yi Fei?"
Hearing Wen Bin's question, Yi Fei smiled and chimed in, "Master... Master Xia's acting is indeed very good... much better than mine."
"All this praise is going to my head..." Xia Liang waved his hand dismissively.
After some more pleasantries, Wen Bin and Yi Fei took their leave. They didn't have any scenes scheduled for the day and had only come to watch Xia Liang's performance. Having seen what they came for, and having been thoroughly impressed, they decided it was time to head home.
On the set, thanks to Xia Liang's phenomenal acting, filming went exceptionally smoothly. Aside from a few retakes caused by minor mistakes from supporting actors and extras, nearly every scene was approved on the first take. As a result, Xia Liang finished all his scenes for the day by noon.
"Everyone loves filming your scenes, Brother Xia," the lighting technician, Xiao Liu, said with a smile. "We get to clock out half a day early."
"Isn't that the truth? It's my first time seeing an actor like Brother Hao, with no mistakes and no retakes."
"You guys are making me blush," Xia Liang laughed.
"But we're just telling the truth."
"Haha, alright then, I'll take the compliment. Since it's noon, let me treat everyone to a good meal."
"Great! Let's go!"
"Director, you should come too!" Xia Liang said, turning to Cao Yi, who was reviewing the footage they had just shot.
"Alright, let's all go together," Cao Yi nodded, closing his laptop.
"There isn't much good food at the film studio," Xia Liang said. "Let's go eat somewhere outside. Since I'm treating, we should do it right. Let's call Wen Bin and Yi Fei to join us."
"Sounds good to me," Cao Yi said cheerfully.
Xia Liang's performance today had been so outstanding that Cao Yi had developed a very favorable impression of him. Besides, with Xia Liang's status in mind, and the fact that the day's filming had gone so smoothly and saved a lot of trouble, Cao Yi couldn't stop smiling.
"I'll go get changed first," Xia Liang said. He was still in the long robe from the shoot and definitely needed to change before going out.
However, a small mishap occurred while he was changing. Ling Xiang accidentally got something on the clothes she was getting for him, so he had to put on some clean clothes the crew had on hand.
Once everyone was ready, they all boarded the crew's bus and headed to a famous mountain villa near the film studio.
"Wow... Brother Xia, you're taking us to such a fancy place to eat?" the prop master, Xiao Zhang, exclaimed in surprise.
It wasn't just Xiao Zhang; everyone, including Cao Yi, was surprised. This place was incredibly expensive, affordable only to the wealthy. A single meal could easily cost tens of thousands of yuan.
After they were seated, a waitress approached with the menu.
"Good evening, what can I get for you?" the waitress asked, her eyes fixed on Cao Yi, Wen Bin, and Yi Fei.
It wasn't their fame that made her curious. The restaurant's clientele consisted entirely of the rich and powerful, so she was used to seeing celebrities. It was a simple calculation. At a place this expensive, you didn't go Dutch treat. Someone was always hosting, and the host was the one who ordered. It had to be one of the three celebrities—Cao Yi, Wen Bin, or Yi Fei. After all, a normal person could never afford to eat here, let alone treat a whole group.
"Give me the menu," Xia Liang said with a smile.
The waitress was taken aback when she noticed Xia Liang. Although his clothes were clean, they were obviously cheap. He can't possibly afford to treat everyone, he must be just a regular crew member.
"Is something wrong?" Xia Liang asked, puzzled.
"My apologies, I was just distracted." Despite her doubts, she maintained her professional politeness, smiling as she handed the menu to Xia Liang.
After a quick glance, Xia Liang felt there were too many options and decided ordering individually would be too much trouble.
"Bring us one of every signature dish on the first two pages," he said. "For items with smaller portions, like the truffles and caviar, just bring enough for everyone."
"All of them?"
"Yes."
The waitress hesitated. How could this crew member be so presumptuous, making such an exorbitant order without consulting anyone else?
Out of a misplaced sense of 'kindness,' she looked at Cao Yi, Wen Bin, and Yi Fei and said, "The signature dishes on the first two pages are our most expensive. Together, they come to about four thousand yuan..." She said this because she still assumed one of the three celebrities would be footing the bill.
"Wow, that's expensive! Master Xia, you're very generous!" Cao Yi laughed. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Since this is the first time I'm treating everyone, I want you all to have the best," Xia Liang declared. "Place the order just as I said... also, add two bottles of Romanée-Conti and a bottle of '82 Lafite."
The waitress was flabbergasted; in all her time working here, she had never misjudged a customer so badly.
"Does anyone else want anything to drink?" Xia Liang asked.
"No, no, that's quite alright! Master Xia, you've already ordered such exquisite wines, we don't need anything else."
"That's right, we're good."
As most of the group declined, Ling Xiang spoke up. "I don't drink alcohol. I'll have a Coke."
"Uh... okay. Waitress, please add a Coke," Xia Liang said.
"Alright... right away," the waitress said, composing herself. "Will there be anything else?"
"That's all. Please bring out the food as soon as possible."
"No problem!"
After Ling Xiang ordered a Coke, everyone turned to look at her with amusement. To pass up wine worth thousands of yuan for a Coke... She really doesn't appreciate the finer things in life. She has no taste!
Feeling their strange looks, Ling Xiang pouted. "Why are you all looking at me like that! It's not that I'm ignorant; I know those wines are expensive! But I've never been a drinker. I don't think alcohol tastes good at all, so it would just be a waste on me!"
"Hahaha..." Seeing her reaction, everyone burst into laughter.
"Ah, to be young," Cao Yi chuckled. "Unlike us, after being out in the world for so long, we can't help but equate an item's quality with its price tag. Coke is actually delicious. Ling Xiang has good taste."
"Oh, Director, you're teasing me!" Ling Xiang exclaimed, stomping her foot.
"Hahaha, I wouldn't dare."
In truth, Ling Xiang had the right idea. For someone who doesn't like or drink alcohol, what's the real difference between a priceless wine and a simple Coke? They're both just drinks.
Before long, the dishes began to arrive.
Black truffles, caviar, foie gras...
Abalone, shark fin, Kobe beef...
