Chapter 324: War of The Eastern Lion 5

The man agreed. Their sailing ship docked at the pier, and the captain stepped out onto the harbor platform. He and Ethan met face to face and shook hands.

Ethan turned and asked Yuna to prepare a tent for their negotiation. She immediately moved after hearing his request.

She and the other team members began assembling the tent quickly. The ship’s captain introduced himself as Jack, from the guild Blazing Arrow.

It was obvious that the guild prioritized archers over any other class.

The tent was soon set up, complete with a table and chairs. It was a tent set Nathan had purchased under Ethan’s orders before the event began.

Nathan, Yuna, and the other LionArk members worked together to finish building it. Once everything was ready, Ethan invited Jack inside for a proper discussion.

Jack sat at the table, accompanied by two of his team members dressed in black uniforms. Ethan sat alone, representing LionArk and the Eastern Alliance.

"I never expected the Eastern Alliance to have such a large army," Jack said.

Ethan summoned a bottle of wine and poured it into two glasses, one for Jack and one for himself.

"Not entirely. We still have around fifty thousand city soldiers in the desert region."

"The desert region. Rich in rare materials. Now it makes sense why your forces are larger," Jack replied.

"The desert region was Arthur’s primary target from Redemption Sword. When he realized it was controlled by the Eastern Alliance, they shifted their assault north."

Jack gasped in shock, his mouth slightly open as he listened. It was clear that Ethan had understood the enemy’s strategy before even meeting them directly.

"There were three cities controlling that region. All of them were destroyed by the Tropical Alliance forces."

Ethan nodded. It was no surprise that he had seen city ruins there. However, he did not know the exact number of cities in the archipelago region.

"How many cities are in the archipelago region?" Ethan asked.

"Right now? Around seven cities."

"Sword Legend is the leading guild of the archipelago alliance."

Ethan acknowledged it. Now that he knew the exact number of cities, he concluded that he would not attack the archipelago region.

It was based on shared responsibility. Ethan preferred cooperation over war. City warfare in the archipelago was extremely dangerous.

"I will ensure that every city in the archipelago remains untouched by the Eastern Alliance. In exchange for our protection, we ask for transportation support."

Jack listened carefully, growing serious as Ethan presented the offer.

Although the archipelago region was difficult to conquer, they did not possess many resources either. Jack was confused as to why Arthur chose to attack the archipelago instead of the desert.

"Can you guarantee that you can defeat the Redemption Sword?" Jack asked.

Ethan looked at him steadily. "You can hold me to my word. I will behead Arthur with my own hands."

Jack felt fairly confident in Ethan. With his ability and the tens of thousands of alliance soldiers under his command, Jack believed Ethan could crush the invaders.

"You’re certain?"

"You can test my strength if you want," Ethan replied firmly.

Jack burst into laughter.

"No need. I wouldn’t win against you."

"Very well," Jack said as he stood up.

Ethan rose as well. They shook hands once more, sealing the agreement between their two alliances.

The archipelago alliance would receive protection from Redemption Sword’s attacks.

In return, Ethan and the Eastern Alliance would receive sailing ships to carry them to the island where Redemption Sword had docked.

"We have a deal, Ethan!"

"I’ll inform the other cities and have them transport your forces."

"Thank you, Jack," Ethan said.

"A ship like mine can carry ten thousand city soldiers. Tell me how many you need."

Ethan paused briefly, then smiled. "Around eight ships."

"You’re bringing eighty thousand troops to this region?"

"That’s right."

"Terrifying. Redemption Sword’s alliance forces probably only have twenty to thirty thousand city soldiers left."

"It seems you truly are going to win this war, Ethan."

"Thank you. That boosts my confidence."

Jack and Ethan stepped out of the tent and onto the harbor platform. Everyone turned to look at them. Many were curious about the outcome of their negotiation.

"Wait one to two hours. I’ll bring ships from the other cities," Jack said.

"Of course."

After finalizing the agreement, Jack boarded his sailing ship and departed from the harbor.

The dock grew empty again. Ethan turned to face the Eastern Alliance forces. All eyes were fixed on him, waiting.

"The Eastern Alliance and the Archipelago Alliance have reached an agreement. We will not invade their cities. Our target is the Redemption Sword."

"As part of the deal, they will provide eight ships to transport us. Each ship has a capacity of ten thousand city soldiers." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"All units, begin preparations. Yuna will arrange the departure."

"They will arrive in two hours. Focus on recovery."

They all nodded. Yuna moved among them to organize each unit for embarkation. With more than seventy thousand troops in total, eight ships were necessary.

They followed Yuna’s instructions obediently.

Elsewhere, Ethan remained at the dock. He called Sera over.

"Do you need my help, Ethan?" Sera asked.

Ethan nodded. "Cross the strait. Scout every island from the air. Focus on locating concentrations of enemy alliance forces."

"Do I need to attack their cities as well?" Sera asked.

"No. Do not touch their cities. But if you want to guard them, you may."

Sera looked ahead, then nodded in understanding.

"It’s time for you to summon Luna, Ethan."

"I’ll do it later. I have a plan for Luna."

She nodded obediently and began flying across the strait in front of the harbor.

Ethan remained standing on the pier.

The ships from the Archipelago Alliance cities would arrive in two hours. Ethan had to remain cautious in case they decided to betray the Eastern Alliance at any moment.

If that truly happened, Ethan would send his two goddess servants to level the entire archipelago region, sinking it along with all of Redemption Sword’s forces.

This was clearly a massive war that would destroy everything.
