I Can Get 1,000,000x Returns from Selling Anything!-Chapter 41 --Contracted Wolfkin
The old Wolfkin glanced at the remaining elders, women, and children, grief flickering across his eyes.
But in the end, trembling, he accepted the contract, signing it without even reading its contents.
Preserving the bloodline of the Wolfkin was already a tremendous mercy.
As for becoming a servant? Compared to death, it was meaningless.
The other surviving Wolfkin followed suit, signing one by one.
Over three hundred in total, mostly elders, women, and children, along with some young, underage Wolfkin.
Daniel pocketed the contracts, his gaze sweeping across the shivering Wolfkin.
"Go to Polaris City. Live differently, and train the Wolf Cavalry for me."
"I don’t care what you feel toward me—anger, hatred—I don’t care. But I’ll make this clear first!"
"If even one Wolfkin dares to betray me, the entire Wolfkin tribe will pay the price for your impulse!"
Faced with Daniel’s icy gaze, the Wolfkin lowered their heads.
Any previous thoughts or resentment vanished completely under this naked threat.
"However, rest assured—so long as you are loyal, I will never wrong you."
The old Wolfkin nodded repeatedly. "Yes! Yes! Yes! We will serve faithfully!"
Daniel nodded, activated God Speed, and vanished in an instant.
...
Luminara, Intelligence Bureau.
Daniel appeared silently in the main hall.
Rex was at his desk, studying something, and looked up at the sound.
"You’re back? Was there an... accident—"
His words cut off abruptly.
Daniel placed three items on the desk before him:
A handwritten letter from the Goblin High Priest.
A cooperation request from the Wolfkin Chief.
An identity token of the Wolfkin Chief.
"Evidence."
Daniel’s words were concise.
Rex froze for three seconds, then grabbed the letters, quickly scanning them.
The longer he read, the grimmer his expression became.
After finishing the last letter, he looked up at Daniel.
"Are you certain these are genuine?"
"I took them personally from the Goblin messenger and the Wolfkin."
Rex fell silent for a few seconds, then exhaled deeply.
"Good. Very good."
[Ding! Congratulations on completing the Intelligence Bureau Commission: Savage Stone Settlement Investigation (S-Rank)]
[Mission Rating: SSS (Overachieved)]
[Rewards: Contribution Points +8,000; Merit Points +5,000; Gold Coins +20,000]
Rex regarded him, admiration clear in his eyes.
"To be honest, I thought you’d need a week, perhaps even support."
"Yet you returned in a single day, with so much evidence."
He paused. "Count, you are the most capable adventurer I’ve ever seen."
Daniel smiled. "Is there a follow-up?"
"There is."
Rex pointed to an area on the map.
[Doomgreen Forest—Core Goblin Settlement]
"Since it’s confirmed that those wretched Goblins are conspiring, we cannot sit idly by."
"I have a new mission for you."
[Ding! Follow-Up Quest Triggered: Threat in Doomgreen Forest (SS-Rank)]
[Quest Description: Travel to Doomgreen Forest, investigate Goblin activities, and weaken their Strength as much as possible.]
[Objectives: Gather intelligence on Goblin intentions; Merit Points awarded per Goblin killed (1–100, depending on level)]
[Time Limit: Two months]
[Rewards: Determined by mission completion progress and kill count!]
Daniel’s eyes lit up.
Killing Goblins earns Merit Points? This is basically a point-grinding opportunity!
But he didn’t immediately accept. Instead, he asked:
"Can I release this mission to other adventurers?"
Rex was momentarily stunned. "You?"
"I’m a Count. I have the authority to issue quests."
Daniel smiled. "Besides, there’s a limit to how many I can kill alone. If I mobilize all adventurers, the efficiency will be much higher."
Rex paused, then smiled.
"Clever. Alright, you may—but there’s a condition."
"First, you must submit a detailed operational plan. Execution requires the City Lord’s approval."
Daniel nodded. "No problem."
...
After leaving the Intelligence Bureau, Daniel went straight to the Lord’s Manor.
Augusta listened to his plan, thoughtful for a few seconds.
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Absolutely."
"Mobilize all adventurers to kill Goblins... do you understand the implications?"
"I do," Daniel said. "The Goblin tribe will come into open conflict with Humans, which may affect border security."
"But please trust that with adventurers’ Strength, we can defend the borders and protect all imperial citizens."
"And at the same time, this will greatly weaken the Goblin forces, improving border safety, trade security, and tax stability!" 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"This benefits Luminara and the entire Empire."
Augusta stared at him for a moment, then smiled.
"You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that!"
He picked up his pen and signed the operational plan.
"Go ahead. I approve."
...
With approval secured, Daniel immediately began setting up the event.
[Event Name: Doomgreen Forest Purge Operation]
[Event Background: The Goblin tribe has recently exhibited unusual activity, suspected of colluding with hostile forces. To ensure border security, the Empire calls on all adventurers to investigate the Goblins’ true intentions and purge the tribe.]
[Participation: Pay 100 copper coins to accept the quest!]
[Event Duration: Effective immediately, two-month limit]
[Kill Rewards:]
Normal Goblin: 1–5 Merit Points
Goblin Warrior: 6–20 Merit Points
Goblin Leader: 30–100 Merit Points
Goblin Priest: 50–150 Merit Points
Goblin Commander: 50–200 Merit Points
[Merit Point Usage: Can be exchanged at the Intelligence Bureau Quartermaster for rare equipment, skill books, materials, etc.]
[Special Note: Event initiated by Doom Guild Leader and Count Faustus of Luminara. Three-tenths of all Merit Points gained from Goblins will automatically be given to the event initiator to offset costs.]
Daniel double-checked everything, then clicked "Publish."
The next second, the World Channel exploded.
"Holy shit?! What’s happening?!"
"Doomgreen Forest Purge Operation? Kill Goblins for Merit Points?!"
"Merit Points can be exchanged for what? Let me see... Holy shit! Even Gold-Grade equipment?!"
"This event was started by Faustus? He’s only level 100, how can he publish an event?!"
"He’s a Count, got it? Counts have the authority to issue quests!"
"I’m so salty... I’m seriously salty..."
"Team up! Anyone want to farm Goblins together?"
"Please take me! I’m only level 10, can I go?"
"Level 10 against Goblins is dangerous—better team up."
"Faustus is amazing! I love this event!"
"Three-tenths of Merit Points... cha-ching, free profit!"
"Well, he has to pay the event cost. Giving three-tenths is better than nothing."
"Sign me up! I’m farming Merit Points!"
