I Can Give Talents-Chapter 270 – A Panda Goddess
Chapter 270 – A Panda Goddess
"Yes, Big Madam!" Little Fiery replied cheerfully. The faint red layer of energy surrounding the carriage dissipated, and a small, floating ball of fire appeared. It hovered close to Anda, its flames melting the snow that had settled on her dress and creating a warm, snow-free radius of several meters around her. No more snow could reach her now.
With a graceful leap, Anda sprang into the air. Just as she began to descend, a block of fire materialized midair, and she landed on it effortlessly. She leaped again, this time even higher, and another fiery stepping block appeared beneath her feet. Since flying was prohibited in the Mystic Realm, Anda used her mastery of the fire concept to create these temporary platforms, allowing her to traverse the air with ease.
In no time, Anda reached the battle area, which was only about three kilometers from her carriage. From her elevated position, she observed the scene below.
The beautiful lady was clearly on her last legs. Her elegant robes were torn and stained with blood, her movements sluggish and unsteady. The Demonic Polar Bear, its massive frame casting a shadow over her, loomed closer with each thunderous step. The ground trembled beneath its weight, and the lady could do little more than clutch her spear, her Qi nearly depleted.
The lady coughed, another mouthful of blood staining the snow beneath her. Her defensive artifacts—a bracelet and pendant—flickered weakly, their protective barriers barely holding against the bear's relentless attacks. Each strike from the beast sent shockwaves through her body, and she could feel her strength fading. Her vision blurred, and her thoughts grew hazy.
"Am I going to die here?" she muttered, her voice barely audible over the howling wind. The Demonic Polar Bear let out a low growl, its icy breath visible in the freezing air. It raised a massive paw, ready to deliver the final blow.
As the bear approached, the lady's mind wandered, reflecting on the series of misfortunes that had brought her to this point. She had arrived in the Mystic Realm with high hopes, only to be immediately thrust into chaos. Her first encounter had been in the lair of Demonic Toads, where she was greeted by countless loud croaks and a barrage of jumping attacks. Unable to fly, she had used her earth manipulation skills to create a makeshift seesaw—a thick stone slab balanced on a rock fulcrum—to launch herself far away when a toad landed on the other end.
She had thought she was safe, but her landing had only brought her to another demonic beast's lair, prompting yet another desperate escape. From there, it had been one battle after another, each more grueling than the last. At one point, she had even encountered a Commander-Level Demonic Beast, forcing her to use multiple life-saving treasures just to survive.
All of these dangers would have been manageable if she had been with her group as planned. But the unexpected separation had left her alone and vulnerable. Her resources were dwindling, and her body was reaching its limits.
Her final misstep had been seeking refuge in a cave during the heavy snowfall. What she thought was a safe haven turned out to be the lair of the Demonic Polar Bear. Exhausted and injured, she had no choice but to fight, but the bear's overwhelming strength and the harsh environment had pushed her to the brink.
As the bear raised its massive paw for the final strike, the lady smiled wryly. "What a way to go," she thought, her vision darkening.
Just as the lady was about to resign herself to her fate, a loud tremor and a deafening roar snapped her out of her defeated thoughts.
THUUM!
ROAAARR!
Her blurry eyes regained some focus as she witnessed a massive panda land on the Demonic Polar Bear, pinning it to the ground. The panda's claws tore through the bear's thick hide and fur, its blood quickly dyeing the white snow red. The bear roared in agony, thrashing wildly, but it couldn't budge the panda from its back. The giant panda was simply too heavy!
Anda, watching from above, was dumbfounded. Is this the attack pattern Teacher Albert mentioned? she thought. Well, it's not that bad if it can pin the target successfully.
Meanwhile, the lady below was equally surprised. "A panda? Did it come to save me?" she murmured, her voice weak but filled with disbelief.
Suddenly, she felt the area around her begin to warm up, and the pile of snow covering her started to melt. She looked up and saw a graceful lady descending from glowing red stairs, radiating an aura of holiness.
Her eyes widened. "A... Panda Goddess?" In her current condition, it was hard to tell whether the holiness was real or an illusion.
"Don't worry, young lady. You're safe now," the figure said, her voice soothing and reassuring.
Hearing the gentle words and seeing the warm smile, the lady felt a wave of relief wash over her. Her body finally gave out, and she fainted.
"Hehe," Anda chuckled softly. "I'm a Panda Goddess now? If Leyvi hears about this, he'll be so proud of me."
After laying the lady gently on her back, Anda summoned a healing elixir from her space ring. She carefully raised the lady's head and fed her the elixir. Almost immediately, the lady's body began to glow faintly, the healing effects taking hold.
ROAAARR!
Anda turned her head sharply and saw the terribly injured Demonic Polar Bear stagger to its feet, its movements shaky but determined.
"Eh? My panda's already reverted to its plush toy form? Did it consume all the spirit stones already? It was only a few minutes! At least finish the job first! So unreliable!" Anda complained, exasperated. She now understood why higher-tiered spirit artifacts like this weren't more popular. They consumed an absurd amount of spirit stones for just a few minutes of use. Might as well become a real beast tamer, she thought.
A mischievous smile crossed her face as an idea formed. Maybe I can let Sawi modify the panda later and use Fantylia as the energy source. Or maybe Little Fiery...
Little Fiery, hovering nearby, suddenly felt a chill run through its flames. What's going on? I'm supposed to be a fire. Is there some special ice nearby?
"Little Fiery, finish the bear. Aim for its head," Anda instructed, her tone firm.
"Yes, Big Madam!" Little Fiery replied cheerfully, its flames flaring brighter.
In an instant, a massive fire box materialized around the injured polar bear, trapping it completely. The flames burned intensely wherever the bear's body touched the box, causing it to roar in pain and thrash violently. But the fire box held firm, restricting its movements.
Ten seconds later, a tiny sun appeared in the air, illuminating the dark night and melting all the snow in the vicinity. The intense heat was overwhelming, and the polar bear's roars turned into desperate whimpers.
Then, with a sharp whoosh, a concentrated beam of fire shot from the tiny sun, striking the Demonic Polar Bear squarely in the head.
Tssss....
The sound of sizzling flesh filled the air, followed by the acrid smell of burning fur and flesh. The polar bear's movements ceased as half of its head was melted away by the beam.
Anda dispersed the fire box, and the bear's lifeless body collapsed onto the wet ground, the snow around it completely melted.
"Well, that wasn't too hard. Good job, Little Fiery," Anda praised with a smile. The tiny sun above dimmed and returned to her side, its flames flickering contentedly.
Anda walked over to the lifeless polar bear and stored its body in her space ring. She then picked up her panda plush toy, brushing off the snow and cleaning it with a wave of Qi. "When we get back, I'll have Sawi upgrade you, okay? A few minutes of action is just too short," she said, patting the plush toy affectionately.
Returning to the unconscious lady, Anda gently lifted her into her arms. "Well, well. This is the first time I'm doing a princess carry. Hehe," she chuckled softly, amused by the situation.
Soon, they arrived back at the carriage. Anda laid the lady down and changed her torn robes, which were in tatters after the battle. If it had been a man who saved her, he might have been overwhelmed by the sight, but Anda handled the task with practicality and care. Although the lady's injuries had already healed thanks to the elixir, her mental exhaustion required proper rest.
As Anda settled the lady into the carriage, she couldn't help but wonder about her identity. By now, she was certain the lady wasn't part of the group that had entered the portal with her. Who is she, and how did she end up here? Anda mused.
A day later, the lady finally woke up. The heavy snowfall continued outside, blanketing the landscape in white. As she opened her eyes, blinking away the lingering blurriness, she saw the graceful figure of the woman who had saved her—the "Panda Goddess"—smiling down at her.
"Pan... Panda Goddess..." the lady murmured, her voice soft and groggy as she slowly raised herself from the carriage's long couch. Now that her mind was clearer, she realized the woman before her wasn't an actual goddess, but the first impression had been so strong that the title slipped out unconsciously.
"Hehe," Anda chuckled, her smile warm and playful. "I'm Anda. Right now, I'm only a Panda Wife, not a Panda Goddess yet. How are you feeling?"
