I Can Replicate Martial Arts-Chapter 124 - 74: Lethal Combat on the Train, Is This Really Normal? (Part 2)
Dried melon seeds, peanuts, sunflower seeds...
They even have Macadamia Nuts!
What a foodie.
Zhao Rui’s face lit up. He grabbed two handfuls of Macadamia Nuts and stuffed them into his pants pockets.
Just as the gunfire from both sides stopped and they prepared for close-quarters combat, Zhao Rui abruptly circulated his Inner Strength, took a bag of melon seeds, and WHOOSH—flung it forward.
The bag of melon seeds, imbued with immense Force, instantly slammed into the doorframe of the corridor at the front of the car.
The narrow corridor was instantly enveloped in a showering rain of melon seeds.
In that instant, Zhao Rui leaned out and flicked his fingers repeatedly. Several Macadamia Nuts shot straight down the corridor like bullets from a gun barrel.
"BANG, BANG!"
A few pained cries rang out as several people on the other side were struck by the unexpected nuts and collapsed to the floor.
This sudden turn of events delighted the two female Patrols, and they quickly retreated toward him.
"How did you..."
The female Patrol was about to ask a question in pleasant surprise, but Zhao Rui quickly held up a hand to stop her, pointing a finger at the ceiling of the car.
The female Patrol was instantly alarmed. Before she could even get on guard, gunfire erupted from the roof, and several bullets pierced through the ceiling, ripping into the car.
The three of them scrambled to roll away, dodging the barrage.
However, some slower-reacting passengers weren’t so lucky. They were hit by the bullets that tore through the ceiling and were killed instantly.
With Support from the person on the roof, the masked men on the other side charged over again.
Zhao Rui quickly executed his Wandering Dragon Step, weaving and dodging between the train seats. At the same time, he shot out more Macadamia Nuts from his hand, decisively knocking the guns from the hands of several masked men.
Meanwhile, the two Patrols seized the opportunity to close in and engage the enemy.
Unfortunately, the two of them were only a notch above their opponents. One-on-two was manageable for them.
But fighting this many was just asking for a beating.
Within a few moves, they were in perilous danger.
Zhao Rui’s senses were on high alert. He spotted a shadow flash past a bullet hole in the ceiling, instantly channeled all his Inner Strength, and leaped into the air.
His palms struck the metal roof of the car with brutal force.
A tremendous force surged out, following the lines of the bullet holes and tearing a gaping hole in the roof.
The masked man on the roof was knocked to the ground by this force and nearly rolled off the train.
Having gained the upper hand with one move, Zhao Rui didn’t hesitate. After landing, he struck out again with a Taihang Heavy Palm, completely ripping a large hole in the roof.
Seeing this, the masked men who were still fighting the two Patrols looked on in terror.
"Retreat! There’s an expert here!"
After shouting, one of them turned and ran back toward the car they came from.
As if Zhao Rui would give them the chance. He plunged his right hand into his pocket and came out with another handful of Macadamia Nuts.
With a few WHOOSHES, he knocked the fleeing men to the ground.
The remaining men, seeing they couldn’t escape, revealed a vicious glint in their eyes and started fighting the two Patrols with their lives on the line.
But Zhao Rui wasn’t about to let them fight back. He unleashed his Profound Yin Sword Pointing, instantly piercing through their bodies.
All that was left were agonized howls on the floor.
The two Patrols quickly moved forward and finished them off.
The masked man on the roof barely managed to steady himself. When he saw the massive hole, how could he dare to stay? He instantly started running toward the front cars.
"You two watch things here."
Zhao Rui said, then leaped up and through the hole, out of the train.
Outside, the biting cold wind howled past, making his clothes flap loudly.
Zhao Rui spotted the fleeing masked man at a glance, immediately used his Wandering Dragon Step, and gave chase at high speed.
When the masked man sensed Zhao Rui chasing him from behind, he was so frightened he jolted. He quickened his pace and ran for his life.
As he ran, he stomped hard on the roof to send a signal to his accomplices below.
Why would Zhao Rui let him escape? He pulled the last two Macadamia Nuts from his pocket, skillfully applied a Shaking Force, and WHOOSH, WHOOSH—shot them out.
They struck the man’s Huantiao Acupoint and Mingmen Acupoint directly.
The masked man’s body froze for a moment, then he fell straight off the roof.
He didn’t even let out a scream.
Since he had already made his move, Zhao Rui certainly wasn’t going to stop. Never mind that he was one of the people they had hijacked; just the fact that his future brother-in-law’s fate was unknown meant he had to find him.
The terror of seeing blood had long been suppressed by his fearless calm and strong Martial Artist’s Dao Heart.
Even before learning the Profound Yin Sword Pointing, he wasn’t afraid of a Level 9 Powerhouse.
Now, with the Profound Yin Sword Pointing at his command and having grasped the skill of launching a combined Sword Technique and Gang Qi Attack, even if a true Level 9 Powerhouse were to show up, the outcome would be uncertain.
Everything that had just happened took place in only a few short minutes.
The train was still speeding along.
And Zhao Rui sensed the auras of several Martial Artists emerging from the door of the foremost car and rushing toward him.
Clearly, the enemy was aware of his presence.
They were gathering their forces to surround him.
The roof of an express train is quite smooth. Fighting on it would not only be restrictive, but it would also be easy for the enemy to find an opening and take a couple of shots at him.
He quickly turned around and jumped back into the car through the damaged hole.
"What’s the situation up there?" the female Patrol asked anxiously.
"A group of masked men is on their way. How’s your colleague?"
Zhao Rui glanced at the injured female Patrol sitting cross-legged in the corner of the car, meditating.
"She’s seriously injured. I’m afraid she won’t be able to move for a while," the female Patrol said, shaking her head.
"How many Patrols came with you?" Zhao Rui asked quickly, curious.
"Twelve people, five teams in total..."
At this, the female Patrol’s expression dimmed. It was obvious that not many of them were still alive.
"We’ll charge toward the front of the train through the main door and draw their fire. We can’t stay here long."
After speaking, Zhao Rui bent down and rummaged through the backpack he had picked up earlier. He grabbed two handfuls of pistachios, stuffed them into his pocket, and then strode toward the next car.
The masked men had already opened the door between the two cars when they came through.
Seeing Zhao Rui still in the mood to grab pistachios at a time like this, the female Patrol’s cheek twitched.
"You stay here and protect Lin Yan. I’ll go with him."
After a glance at her colleague, the female Patrol followed without hesitation.
Under the confused gazes of the others in the car, Zhao Rui and the Patrol left, heading down the aisle.
"You can’t just leave us!"
"Since you’re Patrols, shouldn’t your first priority be to protect us civilians?"
Seeing Zhao Rui and the other woman leave, the remaining passengers in the car panicked.
They had just witnessed Zhao Rui’s incredible skill in shattering the train roof with two palm strikes.
Now, seeing him head to another car, they thought he was abandoning them to escape on his own. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Unfortunately for them, Zhao Rui paid them no mind. Good guys, bad guys, right and wrong—none of it had anything to do with him.
’You have to be alive to even consider what’s right and wrong.’
’Is this the true face of this world?’
Zhao Rui glanced coldly at the masked man lying on the floor, a strange mix of emotions filling his heart.
’Have I been too well-protected by the Court all this time?’
’Or are these people, this incident, just an isolated case?’
The two of them passed through three cars and found no masked men inside. Apparently, the ones they had just killed had been guarding these cars.
Zhao Rui didn’t let his guard down. He tore off a seat-back table, held it in front of him as a shield, and advanced in a crouch, on high alert.
Seeing his cautious posture, the female Patrol asked curiously, "Were you a soldier?"
"No, but I’ve played Peacekeeper Elite!"
"What?"
Zhao Rui didn’t answer her, because the path ahead was blocked.
A masked man was standing in the doorway, looking at them.
The eyes under his hood held a cold sneer.
He was holding a pistol, pressing it against a passenger’s head.
The meaning was clear: I have a hostage. What are you going to do?
The female Patrol’s expression turned to one of alarm. ’This is bad,’ she thought.
"They have a hostage!"
The female Patrol had barely finished speaking when she saw Zhao Rui, without a word, quickly back away. When he reached the connection between the cars, he kicked open the exterior door and WHOOSH, scrambled onto the roof.
Without hesitation, the female Patrol quickly followed him.
"What hostage? I don’t see one!"
Zhao Rui said, then started running toward the hijacker.
As he neared the hijacker’s position, he suddenly executed a rapid shift, moving to a different spot just before a bullet tore through the roof from inside the car.
He did this a few times, counting the number of bullets fired.
Zhao Rui suddenly stomped down hard. The bullet-riddled metal of the roof instantly caved in, collapsing into the car below.
The masked man had no time to react before Zhao Rui, still in mid-air, used a few pistachios to hit his acupoints.
The female Patrol stared in astonishment at another ruined car roof, and a strange thought couldn’t help but pop into her head.
’If we get off this train safely, should they file to have it scrapped?!’
