I Can Replicate Martial Arts-Chapter 201 - 102: I’m Afraid I Can’t Control Myself
It was feast or famine!
The rest period was short. After a brief break, the training resumed.
This went on for two solid hours.
For Zhao Rui and the others, the experience was as grueling as it could possibly be.
After they finished training their arms, there was form practice. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Each person, based on their own condition, continuously practiced the Martial Arts they needed to master, but without using their Inner Strength.
This lasted for another hour.
When they finally made it to just past five in the afternoon, Zhao Rui and the others breathed a sigh of relief.
It wasn’t that they were on the verge of collapse, but the training was incredibly monotonous and they weren’t used to it.
"The intern team members and the students from Dongqi University will have extra training tonight."
Bai Wenlong’s words instantly caused Zhao Rui and the others to wilt all over again.
Fortunately, when evening arrived, Bai Wenlong didn’t make everyone continue with the same mechanical exercises.
Instead, he took them to the equipment room. Using the various machines, he conducted a detailed analysis and refinement of everyone’s strength, agility, and other attributes.
This training session lasted for half the night.
By the time Zhao Rui and the others returned to their dorms, it was already past nine o’clock.
Exhausted from the long day, they tidied up briefly and then collapsed into bed.
They needed to be well-rested to face the next day’s training.
「The next day.」
Everyone ate breakfast early and hurried to the training hall to wait for their session to begin.
But before the class even started, Zhao Rui was stunned to see a group of young people walk in through the entrance.
Zhao Rui had even met a few of them before.
They were from East Art and Sports University!
’Why are they here too?’
Zhao Rui frowned slightly and couldn’t help but mutter under his breath.
"You know them?" Miao Miaomiao asked curiously.
"Yeah, they’re from East Art and Sports."
"East Art and Sports? You mean the ones who came to our university for an exchange before?"
Miao Miaomiao was taken aback.
"Looks like this training is about to get interesting."
Wang Dalong’s eyes narrowed as he spoke in a low voice.
While Zhao Rui and his friends were discussing the newcomers, their coach had led them over to Bai Wenlong and completed the handover.
A moment later, they were brought over to join the main group.
"Let’s welcome the students from East Art and Sports University..."
It was the same familiar speech, the same familiar routine. Bai Wenlong had probably done this kind of reception countless times over the years.
After arranging the "new members," the other coach discreetly left the training hall.
’Who knows if that guy will go and have it out with Wang Zhanshan.’
In any case, Zhao Rui could sense the tension in the air.
How could it be such a coincidence? Dongqi University had just arrived, and East Art and Sports showed up right on their heels.
’It was most likely because of the last university Martial Dao tournament. East Art and Sports must have discovered that Dongda had recruited a batch of talented freshmen.’
’That’s why they’re being so vigilant.’
’But this kind of scheming between universities has nothing to do with me.’
’Right now, all I want to do is focus on the training.’
Although yesterday had been tiring, after recovering with the nourishment of his Inner Qi, he could clearly feel something different in his arm muscles.
It was... how to put it? ’Like a four-step process of fatigue, limit, recovery, and growth.’
’The path of the Martial Dao is about perceiving the grand through the minute. The fundamental principles are all much the same.’
Zhao Rui was one hundred percent committed to any training that proved effective.
The morning session, however, was not the basic training Zhao Rui had hoped for. Instead, it was three full hours of practical combat drills.
The entire group consisted of fifty-six people. Five were from Dongqi University, and eleven were from East Art and Sports University.
Bai Wenlong mixed the students from the two universities and assigned them to four different small groups.
Within each group, they would conduct sparring exercises.
Each group had two assistant coaches supervising and giving pointers from the side.
These assistant coaches were mostly retired professional fighters. Not only were their Martial Arts superb, but they also had an incredible wealth of practical combat experience.
With their guidance, the students could better adapt to the rules of competition.
Professional Martial Dao competitions were different from life-and-death battles.
There were many rule restrictions and frameworks for Martial Arts.
For example, excessively lethal Martial Arts Techniques like the Groin Kick, the Tiger Claw Hand of Extinction, and Double Peak Piercing Ears were all forbidden.
The competitors had to abide by all these rules and regulations.
After all, it was a competition. You can’t have a game without rules.
If you wanted to watch something with no rules, that existed too—the Underground Black Boxing Alliance. The atmosphere at their finals was no less intense than the national championship’s.
In the training hall, the groups were being formed.
Zhao Rui was assigned to the first group, along with two students from East Art and Sports and eleven members from the youth training group.
Once the team was assembled, the assistant coach began pairing them up for practice.
The assistant coach had just assigned two pairs when a student from East Art and Sports requested to be paired with Zhao Rui.
The assistant coach, who seemed to have been expecting this, smiled at Zhao Rui.
After all, everyone in the Dongqi Martial Arts Circle knew about the rivalry between the two universities.
"What do you study?" Zhao Rui asked, unhurried.
"What’s it to you what I study? What, are you scared?" the student shot back with a stunned, then contemptuous, expression.
"Scared or not, why don’t you just tell me first?" Zhao Rui said casually.
"If I tell you just because you asked, I’d lose face!" the student sneered, refusing to answer.
"Oh. Coach, if I can’t beat him, can I switch partners?" Zhao Rui asked, smiling at the coach.
The assistant coach’s eyelid twitched. It was the first time he’d ever seen an elite student with so little competitive drive.
If it had been anyone else, the atmosphere would have been electric with tension, and they would have been itching to fight it out on the spot.
"You can!"
"Alright. Please go easy on me, senior."
"I’ll definitely go easy on you. I’m just afraid I might lose control for a moment."
"So you’re saying you’d get taken out instantly?"
"You..."
"Alright, that’s enough. This is training, not a tournament stage. If you two really want to fight, then prepare properly and wait for an official competition to settle the score."
"In here, you will all follow the rules!"
The assistant coach snorted coldly, and a wave of True Qi pressure instantly and precisely washed over Zhao Rui and the other student.
Zhao Rui felt his body stiffen, his Inner Qi seemingly locked in place.
’This feeling?’
Zhao Rui felt as if he had returned to Golden Summit Peak on Emei Mountain, to his first encounter with the Illusory Sound Messenger.
Although the assistant coach’s True Qi intensity was nowhere near that of the Illusory Sound Messenger, the sensation was remarkably similar.
’So this is the power of the Grandmaster Realm?’
A sense of longing rose in Zhao Rui’s heart.
Seeing that the two had felt the pressure, the assistant coach withdrew his True Qi and continued assigning sparring partners.
