Chapter 624: Chapter 338: I Certainly Haven’t Trained Myself into an Indescribable Evil God!!!

"Teacher, have you come out of seclusion?"

A year later, Rein arrived in a vast and primeval forest, ignoring the various bizarre animals and plants, he shouted a question.

Fortunately for him, he was no longer human but a divine and anomalous being with high resistance in matters of spirit and sanity. And since Gu Shanhai didn’t target him intentionally, he felt quite at ease.

Otherwise, if an ordinary person entered, going mad would be the least of their concerns.

Next, a massive shadow approached him with antlers interlocking like coral, and on those antlers dangled a cluster of ferocious eyes, each swaying in the wind as if alive.

"Yo!" The voice was dull with an echo.

"Little White, the Teacher has hung eyeballs on your antlers again, huh? He’s been getting more and more unscrupulous lately," Rein commented upon recognizing the newcomer.

"Yo." Little White revealed itself... it hadn’t become ghastly, but Gu Shanhai had indeed unscrupulously hung eyeball decorations on its antlers, resulting in it growing larger and stronger.

"Let me tell you, just because I hang eyes on Little White’s antlers doesn’t mean I can’t hear you," Gu Shanhai’s voice came through, then he explained, "Moreover, I didn’t hang these eyes; they’re just residing on Little White."

Indeed, these eyes of various sizes and shapes were actually special creatures that had evolved from the Secret Technique Eye, the Magic Eye, and such, foretold by prophecy.

"When will you come out of seclusion, Teacher?" Rein asked again.

"Actually... I have already come out," Gu Shanhai retorted, having successfully broken through to the Cave Soul Stage three days prior, completing his Divine Skills in the same series, named Plum Blossom Divination.

After merging with the soul of heaven and earth halfway, Gu Shanhai’s human form couldn’t be maintained, and he transformed into a vast natural ecosystem, so expecting to see him in human form again was pointless.

However, there was some good news: he wasn’t merely a natural ecosystem but more like a shapeless entity that could indeed move.

"So... you can’t change back?" Rein was startled since he had thought Gu Shanhai would return to his usual form after the breakthrough, only to realize it was completely impossible.

"Yeah, want some fruit? I produced them myself; they’re quite sweet," Gu Shanhai offered, and a twisted, chaotic tree beside him extended a slightly eerie limb towards them. Its flesh-like bark split open and promptly bloomed, producing fruit that pulsed like a beating heart.

Rein had grown immune to such oddities and took the fruit, which continued to pulse in his hand. He bit into it casually and, to his surprise, beneath the frightening exterior, it was genuine fruit flesh that tasted delicious.

"Teacher, can we change the shape of the fruit, make it look less like a heart and stop it from pulsing? Eating it feels like the fruit is biting me back," Rein complained.

"Oh, I’ll make adjustments next time. These are just base models. I was too focused on breaking through to bother changing their appearance. I’ll apply a beautifying patch next time," Gu Shanhai replied, unconcerned as long as they tasted like fruit once in one’s mouth.

"Got any other fruits or vegetables? I’ll take some back with me," Rein asked unashamedly, since they were all from his own Master and not from outside.

"Want to take some meat with you too?" Gu Shanhai asked with a hint of exasperation; people typically avoided such oddities, but Rein was quite the opposite, eating and even taking extras.

"That would be great. Oh, and get me some with abnormal appearances; I can stew them into a hotchpotch or mix them with noodles," Rein replied, his face lighting up with excitement. He had learned cooking from Gu Shanhai, and these twisted creatures could taste amazing with proper preparation.

However, there were restrictions, limited only to Gu Shanhai’s disciples; others would face unimaginable consequences if they consumed them.

"I’ll see what I can find," Gu Shanhai said nonchalantly, these creatures no different to him than Spirit Plants, as they could grow back once gone.

"Just what I need, I have a boar here for you."

While speaking, a massive Fluorescent Giant stood up from the ground, its semi-transparent body covered in a plethora of flowers and plants, with eerie patterns formed by dark lines writhing over its surface.

A terrifying black mountain range stretched across its back, and upon closer inspection, one could even spot a peculiar structure.

"Here..." The Fluorescent Giant held out its left hand, and a small black dot fell.

It landed right in front of Rein, this so-called dot being a boar the size of a mammoth but more akin to a monstrous creature mutated from a boar.

"Holy shit, Teacher, how did you get so huge?!" Rein instantly recognized that it was Gu Shanhai, or in simpler terms, Gu Shanhai’s soul.

As for the external landscape, it had integrated into his natural ecosystem, which explained why these plants and animals could come to life.

"Nonsense, with my body so huge, of course, my soul had to grow equally large. It couldn’t remain tiny like before, or else it would be as insignificant as a tiny puppy," Gu Shanhai responded. His soul bore no usual facial features but rather had plant roots sprouting forth, resembling a mass of ever-moving tendrils.

"Oh, alright then. Since you’re fine, Teacher, I’ll head back now." Rein grabbed the boar and set off, content to pick fruits and vegetables himself rather than trouble Gu Shanhai.
