I Dragged My Fiance's Uncle off the Altar-Chapter 45 - Hello, Cousin-in-law!
45 Hello, Cousin-in-law!
The atmosphere in the conference room slowly stiffened at the end of Xing Shu’s presentation. Everyone could read between the lines. But since the two protocols she proposed affected most of the managers, their faces darkened. Most of the present company in this conference room relied on mutual support. If they were not allowed to group up, their positions would be in jeopardy.
if looks could kill, Xing Shu would be dead. Xing Shu still felt that it was inadequate and added, “President Cheng, perhaps you can give all the managers a year to find a replacement. If they can’t find one, there would be no new work assigned in the second year. If they still can’t find a replacement within two years, you can ask this manager to leave. This way, you can ensure that the management has personnel backups and business would not be paralyzed because of the departure of a senior manager. For instance, I think President Cheng made a very wise decision in replacing Cheng Xingyang with me.”
Xing Shu’s last sentence was to butter up Cheng Lang, while hinting to everyone that it was President Cheng who handpicked her for this position. They had to hold it in regardless of their resentment!
Xing Shu looked at Cheng Lang as she took her seat. She was aware that she had offended many people with her presentation. Moreover, not many people would take her words seriously and believe that she was handpicked by Cheng Lang.
“Director Xing, that’s easy for you to say. Find someone to replace myself? We won’t have any prestige with the employees! You’ve just been promoted, so you probably don’t know about staff management. I advise you to train at the bottom for two more years.” A manager picked on Xing Shu.
Xing Shu smiled at the other party. “I don’t believe this protocol will threaten the manager’s position if the manager chooses a replacement for himself. After all, whether this replacement can take office in the future will depend on the company’s performance and value system and the ABC protocols.” In other words, are you rejecting President Cheng’s memo?
“You!” The interjector seethed with indignation. He glanced at Cheng Lang and eventually kept his mouth shut resentfully.
Meanwhile, outside the conference room, Jiang Yao—who was leaning against the door—heard Xing Shu’s words and was intrigued. “Cousin, although I don’t understand what your fiance is saying, she seems to be very formidable.”
Cheng Xingyang—who was standing beside Jiang Yao—had heard Xing Shu as well and was very frustrated. So what if Xing Shu was very capable? She was still a slut who fooled around with men outside!
“Cousin, I think Xing Shu is much better than Xing Linlin. At least she’s really capable.” Jiang Yao ignored Cheng Xingyang’s darkened expression and continued talking.
Steam was coming out of Cheng Xingyang’s ears. “Her? She can’t compare to Linlin, and she’s even less worthy of me.”
Jiang Yao said, “Oh please! You’re the one who’s not worthy of her. You’re really a scumbag for hooking up with Xing Linlin behind her back. However, I won’t judge you. After all, we’re the same—people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
Cheng Xingyang frowned in disgust. “Don’t compare me to you.” He had only slept with Xing Linlin, but Jiang Yao was a village bicycle!
Jiang Yao widened her eyes and sized Cheng Xingyang up. “Come on. Who the h*ll do you think you are? Telling me not to compare myself to you? I’m the one who looks down on you!”
Cheng Xingyang was foaming at the mouth! However, he could not vituperate Jiang Yao. No matter how outrageous Jiang Yao was, she was still very much doted on at home. Otherwise, she would not be so anarchic.
The meeting had ended. Jiang Yao pushed open the door with a smile and called out crisply, ” Young Uncle.”
The atmosphere in the conference room was gloomy. No one stood up because Cheng Lang had not said a word during the condemnation of Xing Shu just now. At the end of it, he only said impassively, “Meeting adjourned.” Unable to fathom Cheng Lang’s thoughts, they remained seated and did not dare to move.
Jiang Yao’s arrival broke the gloomy atmosphere. However, everyone regarded her with contempt at the sight of her revealing spaghetti strap dress and the rose tattoos all over her arms.
Jiang Yao did not seem to notice everyone’s gaze. She walked straight to Cheng Lang and wheedled, “Young Uncle, where’s the amusement park you promised me last time?” She had a smile on her face. When she passed by Xing Shu, she even winked mischievously. “Hello, Cousin-in-law!”
