Chapter 225 Advice

Yu Chen froze in place upon hearing her. He stared intently into her eyes, seemingly waiting for her to take back her words and say she was only kidding.

But the girl was serious. She pulled him close to the bed and then quickly moved towards the bedside table. She pulled the drawer open and took something from it. She slowly stepped closer to him, hiding the certificate behind her.

Once she stood right before him, Xiaolei meekly looked at him and then, she stretched out her arms, showing him their marriage certificate. \"Here, it's our marriage certificate.\" She said, her eyes never leaving his face.

Yu Chen slowly looked down and stared at the paper in her hands.

Xiaolei's stare became even more intense, her gaze curious and she couldn't help but feel nervous at the same time. She was filled with anticipation as she waited.

But the man was completely still like a lifeless statue. His eyes remained fixated on the paper.

Luo Xiaolei swallowed air as she moved a little closer to survey his expression. At that moment, as she looked at his face, she remembered that very first time she kissed him. He was acting exactly the same. Wait… big panda… don't tell me you're going to…

Before Xiaolei could even finish her internal monologue, her eyes widened when the man started to wobble. Gladly, he was standing right next to the bed so Xiaolei pulled him and they both ended up falling on the bed. He fell on top of her.

\"Yu Chen?\" Xiaolei worriedly cupped his face, \"Are you okay?!\"

When the man didn't respond, Xiaolei's heart began to flutter in nervousness. She somehow expected that he might faint but this was still bad for her heart.

\"Hey, are you okay? I'll call Yang Jin –\"

\"I'm just a little dizzy.\" He cut her off, his voice was weak as a whisper as he breathed heavily.

Xiaolei relaxed upon hearing him. \"I think you should lay on your back,\" she said as she attempted to help him but Yu Chen just nestled his face at the nook of her neck.

\"I'm fine.\" He whispered, his warm breaths touching her skin. Xiaolei bit her lip and raised her hand to his hair. She caressed his soft ink black hair as she gave him a moment to recover.

Once his breathing stabilized, Xiaolei broke the silence.

\"Sorry for not telling you about it immediately. I wanted to surprise you so…\" she trailed off. Her brows knotted. \"Yu Chen, are you asleep?\"

Xiaolei could only smile in disbelief upon realizing that he did fall asleep. \"Sigh… my cute panda, how could you sleep on me like that?\"

She chuckled and then she kissed his head. \"Sorry, I know you must have been exhausted. I should've given you the time to rest first. Sigh… Xiaolei… how impatient are you?\"

After a while, Xiaolei laid him flat on his back on the bed before she called Yang Jin. She was still a bit worried because this was the first time Yu Chen fell asleep after fainting. She knew he might just be exhausted but she had to let Yang Jin check on him first to make sure.

The doctor was quick to arrive since he was always standing by in his room in the basement.

\"What happened?\" he asked upon entering their room.

\"I told him that we're already married, showed him our marriage certificate and… he fainted.\" Xiaolei's voice was weak as she explained. She was sitting there looking worried. Her husband's head was on her lap.

Yang Jin: \". . .\"

The speechless doctor cleared his throat before stepping closer to their bed. His hair was messy and he was wearing trousers and t-shirt. If he didn't have his medical kit, it would have been hard to believe that he was a doctor.

He sighed in relief as he sat at the edge of the bed. \"He didn't fall badly, right?\" he asked.

\"I managed to catch him before he fell.\"

\"Then, you don't have anything to worry about. He is exhausted. His body is still very weak. If possible I'd like you to restrain him until he fully recovers.\"

Hearing the doctor's advice, Xiaolei felt guilty. She should've made him rest but what did she do? Ah… Xiaolei, you're such a bad wife…

\"O-okay, I'll do my best.\" She replied, blushing a little.

The doctor of course noticed her reaction and he smiled mischievously before he became serious again. \"So I'm recommending that you both should agree to postpone your wedding night. There shouldn't be a problem as long he stays careful but since he can't feel pain, he wouldn't know when he should stop. It's still a little risky. I hope you –\"

\"Don't worry Dr. Yang, I fully understand.\" She cut him off, smiling awkwardly.

The doctor also smiled as he stood. \"Okay then, please rest as well, Miss Luo.\"

\"Mm.\"

Yang Jin was about to step out of the room when he suddenly paused. He turned again and looked at Xiaolei.

\"Miss Luo, I'm not discouraging you or anything okay? I mean… while waiting for your wedding night, you both can do anything you want that won't require him to move recklessly. You know that he's really innocent when it comes to that, right? I think you can take this opportunity to teach him or practi –\" Suddenly, the doctor paused. \"Uhm… sorry Miss, have a good night.\"

The door then abruptly closed, leaving Xiaolei blushing hard. She knew that what Yang Jin said was the perfect advice. As she thought about it, she remembered the book Hinari had mentioned to her.

Still thinking about it, Xiaolei walked towards the dressing room to get changed. When she opened her wardrobe to look for her favorite pajama, she saw something unfamiliar.

She took it out of the cabinet and her jaw dropped. It was a cute, see-through, pink night gown. She couldn't remember having something like this. She never bought anything like this and she hadn't opened her wardrobe since she started living at the hospital, so who would've put this here?!

Xiaolei imagined herself wearing it and she blushed so hard. She was so embarrassed that she was about to go and throw it away when something clicked in her mind. Wait… could it be that Yu Chen bought this? No way!! There's no way my innocent panda would buy something like this!
