When Sean and his family went to Dormania, Megan stayed at home doing her work. She had no intention of going out and staying at a friend’s house, but stayed at home.

That afternoon she sat in the living room, watching television while enjoying a snack she had made herself. She rarely had appointments to go out with her friends, as most of them had eventually gotten married.

That’s why they were already busy with their own goals while Megan was still busy with her career. Even though Samuel had promised to marry her, it would still be a while until the right day when they could talk about their relationship first.

"It was very lonely without them. Especially Carmelia who is very active running around the house. If they end up moving out of this house, every day will be like this," muttered Megan who felt lonely in the house.

She then checked her cell phone to see if Samuel had replied to her message. At the same time, her doorbell was pressed by someone who made her surprised that someone came to her house.

Megan checked the clock on the wall, which showed 2:15 p.m. She was curious, who would come at this hour?

The bell rang again, she got off the couch and walked to the front door. She didn’t remember ordering anything online, nor did her friend tell her to come visit.

"Who’s outside?" she muttered in confusion, but she also had to be on guard about who was at her door right now.

"Who’s there?" Megan asked the person at the door.

There was no answer at first, until a few moments later came a man’s voice that Megan recognized.

"It’s me, we promised to meet after you returned from Dormania. But until now you haven’t contacted me again. I know you rejected my proposal but we still have to talk about this in person," replied the man who was none other than Henry.

He came because he wanted to hear firsthand that Megan had rejected his marriage proposal. Because he felt confused, he did everything for Megan but it turned out that all this time she loved another man?

Megan herself actually deliberately did not call Henry back, because she felt guilty and did not know how to say it directly. But Henry came to her house himself, as he hadn’t heard from her in over a week since they last spoke on the phone.

’Oh my God, is he here already? There was no way I could refuse and ask him to leave. But I’m worried about letting her in. There’s no one home,’ Megan thought at the time.

She knew she was a mature woman who could accept Henry into her home. However, she still felt worried because Henry was a man especially when things weren’t going well between them.

Samuel once said that Henry could suddenly become angry and do anything to Megan. Moreover, Megan was not someone who was good at fighting. It would complicate their situation if they met in a closed room alone.

If they meet in a public place, there are still many people who see us something happens. But not if this happened inside the house.

"Will you open the door for me Megy?" Henry asked her pleadingly as he wanted to speak directly.

After a few moments of thinking about what to do, Megan allowed Henry to come in and sit in the living room. She secretly texted Samuel that Henry had come to visit.

’He’ll understand what’s going on and why Henry came to see me. At least someone will know if my body is not found in the house,’ she thought worriedly.

They sat down in the living room and started talking about Megan’s rejection of the proposal.

"I just want to hear directly, the reason why you rejected my marriage proposal. Am I not good enough for you? Did I do something too much to make you feel uncomfortable?"

"That’s not what I meant. You’re a really nice guy and you’ve done a lot for me, I really appreciate it. It’s just that all of this happened because of my stupidity in not telling you the truth that I was already in love with another man," Megan replied trying to keep things calm.

"Why didn’t you tell me from the start? You must be feeling confused by this situation because I keep insisting on being around you."

Henry sighed, making Megan feel very guilty when she saw his reaction. This was the reason why she didn’t want to see Henry because she couldn’t bear to see this.

The guilt returned, leaving Megan at a loss as to what to do.

"But I can’t match the man you love. I can’t be like the one who got your heart and feelings," Henry said with a sad smile on his face.

"I’m sorry about that, I didn’t mean to make you feel that way it’s just that I didn’t even realize when he got into my heart. I even realized it only after I heard that she had a lover. But when I heard that she didn’t really have one, it made me feel so relieved," she explained.

She then went on to explain her feelings and asked Henry to understand. She hopes that he can find a woman who is much better than her.

"But you’re the only one I’ve ever wanted. When we were in school, I always wanted to be near you. I always followed you wherever you went, and tried to protect you from anything that bothered you," he said.

He recounted that as the days went by, the feeling grew until they graduated and he had to go abroad to continue his studies. When he returned and heard that she owned a company, he immediately sought her out to see her again.

"Even though so many years had passed, somehow the feeling was still there and when I found out you weren’t married I felt like I had a chance. But it turned out that you were in love with another man, which is something I didn’t find out from the start," Henry continued to explain.

Megan really didn’t know what to say anymore, because she had never seen Henry as more than a friend. Meanwhile, he considered her more than a friend because she was the only person who cared about him and even gave him her handkerchief.

"Don’t make this into something that makes you feel guilty. I don’t intend to make you feel that way but I want to express this directly. I love you, I know we can’t be together but I hope you will be happy with the man you love."

There was silence between the two of them, neither of them able to speak and at the same time, Megan was so relieved that Henry understood about her feelings, but this also hurt him feelings which made her feel worried.

"I’m sorry Henry. I’m not capable of loving a man as sincerely as you."
