Chapter 1437: Can You Swear On It?

Although Ye Guan had already experienced this agony, the pain still overwhelmed him the second time around.

The pain came from deep within his bloodline, seeping through his veins, bones, and marrow, reaching his very soul. It felt as though every inch of his body was being seared by hot oil, and the sensation of his soul being burned was unbearable.

The most terrifying thing was that hidden within this mysterious bloodline was a mysterious power. The power flowed through him like magma, clinging to every drop of blood, vein, and bone, seemingly wanting to become a part of him.

His willpower had always been strong, but he truly wished to faint amidst this agony.

Time passed, and Ye Guan couldn't tell how long it had been since the agony began. Eventually, he opened his eyes and found himself on a bed adorned with intricate, beautiful patterns.

Where am I? Ye Guan's mind was fuzzy. He tried to sit up but felt as though all his strength had been drained, leaving him utterly powerless. He smiled bitterly. He tried to recall what happened, but his memory was hazy.

He only knew that he had lost consciousness at some point.

It didn't make sense. If he had fainted, the Mad Demon Bloodline and Mortal Bloodline would have failed to suppress that mysterious bloodline.

After all, those two bloodlines were his core bloodlines.

"Little Soul?" Ye Guan called out.

There was no response.

Ye Guan froze, quickly trying to reach out mentally, but Little Soul was nowhere to be found. Just then, the door opened, and a young woman in green clothes walked into the room.

She appeared to be in her twenties, donned in green clothes, looking as beautiful as jade.

Ye Guan was puzzled.

The young woman walked up to him and bowed slightly. "Young Master Ye, you're in the Wisdom Pavilion. I'm a maidservant of the Pavilion Master. You may call me Jin Yi."

"Lady Jin Yi, how did I end up here?" Ye Guan inquired.

"The Pavilion Master brought you here."

"Lady Sui did?!" Ye Guan exclaimed, "Where is she?"

"The Pavilion Master is busy."

Ye Guan nodded. He tried to stand up, but he discovered that he still had no strength.

Jin Yi walked over and gently helped him up.

Ye Guan stood up and realized that his legs were weak. It was like he had overexerted himself. He shook his head and smiled. The mere thought of that mysterious bloodline made him nervous.

It could truly be the blood of that Divine Ruler.

"I feel stifled. I want to go for a walk," Ye Guan said.

Jin Yi nodded. "Understood."

She helped him toward the door, and as soon as it opened, a blinding light hit Ye Guan's face. He squinted and asked, "How long have I been asleep?"

"Ten days."

"Ten days?" Ye Guan echoed in disbelief. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ

Jin Yi nodded.

Ye Guan was slightly taken aback. How could he have been unconscious for so long?. Ten days... was equivalent to a hundred years inside the tiny pagoda, where Ten Desolate Universe, the Other Shore, and the Forbidden Wildlands were located.

This was a huge problem.

"Where is the Pavilion Master?" Ye Guan asked hurriedly.

"She is dealing with some matters."

"Take me to see her."

Jin Yi hesitated.

Ye Guan looked at her. "Does she not want to see me?"

Jin Yi shook her head. "No, it's just that the Pavilion Master told me to tell you that you ought to rest for a while upon waking up."

"It's fine. Bring me to her," Ye Guan insisted.

Jin Yi nodded, "Very well."

Under Jin Yi's guidance, Ye Guan soon made his way to the Wisdom Pavilion. It was his first time here, and he couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the place.

The pavilion had nine stories and covered almost a hundred acres, making it incredibly prominent in the city.

Jin Yi led him to the ninth floor, the highest floor of the Wisdom Pavilion. When they entered the highest floor, many people turned to look at them.

Among the crowd, Ye Guan spotted a familiar face. It was Hao'er. He met her at Yuxian Residence when he first arrived in the Old Lands.

When Hao'er saw him, her expression became a little awkward. On the contrary, Ye Guan smiled, acknowledging her.

Jin Yi then led him into a small room where the Pavilion Master, Sui Gujin, was present. Ye Guan was surprised to see another familiar face; the Ancestral Dao was there as well!

"Brother Ye!" the Ancestral Dao exclaimed. He rushed over and embraced Ye Guan. "I missed you a lot!"

Ye Guan was taken aback. He looked at Sui Gujin, who remained as indifferent as ever.

Sui Gujin didn't look at him and focused on her work instead. "The Ancestral Dao is in charge of managing the Guanxuan Universe. I told him that when the faith power of the Guanxuan Universe reaches thirty percent, you will restore his cultivation base."

The Ancestral Dao excitedly exclaimed, "Yes, yes, Brother Ye, don't worry! I'll manage the Guanxuan Universe! Damn it, I'll deal with anyone who dares to oppose you!"

Ye Guan smiled. "Do a good job, and I won't treat you unfairly."

"I understand, Brother Ye. I trust you, but... can you swear on it?"

Ye Guan was speechless.

Jin Yi dragged the Ancestral Dao away, leaving Ye Guan and Sui Gujin all alone in the room.

As always, Sui Gujin quietly continued with her work.

Ye Guan sat for a while before saying, "Lady Sui, you may continue your work."

With that, he left the room.

Left all alone, Sui Gujing stopped working.

Ye Guan left the Wisdom Pavilion and entered the tiny pagoda. Although the tiny pagoda wasn't physically on him, he could enter it whenever he wished to do so.

More than three hundred people were present inside the training chamber, which had become significantly bigger than before.

Soul stood up and walked up to Ye Guan, bowing slightly. "Young Master Ye."

Ye Guan smiled. "You've worked hard."

"The Pavilion Master's orders are my duty."

"How is the Guanxuan Universe faring?"

Soul opened her palm, and the Qingxuan Sword appeared. Then, she explained, "Over the past century, my team and I have been experimenting with this sword. We have some ideas we'd like to discuss with you."

Ye Guan's curiosity was piqued. "Go ahead."

Soul continued, "Since your Order and the Suiming Civilization are vastly different, we spent a lot of time exploring our options. Finally, we decided to categorize the faith power into various levels—faint faith, golden faith, purple faith, and white faith. Faint faith is passive; they have no choice but to obey you, so it is rather useless.

"Golden faith means they've acknowledged you, and you hold a certain position in the hearts of the masses. Purple faith is when the masses highly revere you, and this kind of faith is extremely terrifying..."

Soul paused for a while before adding, "As for white faith, it is the purest form of faith power. It is our ultimate goal. It represents the belief that your Order is not just yours, but also theirs. They believe in you as much as they believe in themselves. We still cannot estimate the power of white faith."

Ye Guan remained silent, realizing that he only had access to faint faith, which meant that he was still at the beginner stage.

"Young Master Ye, try mobilizing your faith power."

Ye Guan opened his palm, and a thread of Order Sword Intent appeared in his hand. He was surprised to see that the sword intent had taken on a golden hue.

In just ten days—no... in just a hundred years!

Ye Guan looked at Soul in astonishment.

"Our tests showed that golden faith, combined with your sword, is as strong as a Domain Lord. With your bloodline power, you're stronger than a typical Domain Lord.

"As for purple faith, it's comparable to the Civilization Lord Realm. Only the three great Civilization Lords of the Old Lands could be called Civilization Lords.

"Above that is the Civilization Ancestor Realm, experts at that realm are founders of top-tier civilizations..."

Soul stared deeply at Ye Guan and added, "The limits of white faith are still unknown to us."

Ye Guan nodded. "I understand."

"Our team has made many attempts with this sword and ultimately created a set of methods for cultivating and using faith power. In other words, even though you have faith power inside you, it still needs to be cultivated and used properly for you to be able to unleash its full potential."

Soul took out a scroll and handed it to Ye Guan. "This is the cultivation manual, and the Pavilion Master has personally participated in the tests."

Sui Gujin did? Ye Guan glanced at the scroll and accepted it.

Soul added, "The Pavilion Master said that this cultivation manual cannot be considered to be complete just yet. We will need your help to perfect it, Young Master Ye."

Ye Guan nodded, "Alright."

Soul suddenly took out a large map and lightly dusted it. She opened the map before Ye Guan and pointed to certain places on it. "The Pavilion Master personally divided the Guanxuan Universe into twelve provinces. In each province, we created faith crystal pillars to test the accumulated faith there.

"If the accumulated faith in any province begins to weaken or fluctuate, it indicates management issues within the province. This allows you to keep track of your accumulated faith and the quality of governance."

"Moreover, each province is divided into a hundred and twenty cities. The city governors are the actual people in charge. If the faith under their rule improves, they will be promoted, gaining control over more cities.

"If the faith power weakens, they will be demoted or even dismissed. Under the city governors, there are also town chiefs and village chiefs..."

Soul was quiet for a bit before continuing, "The Pavilion Master said that one person can't manage such a vast universe on their own. There must also be a complete set of rules.

"Furthermore, the Guanxuan Academy in each city must be separate from the city governor's authority. The academy is responsible only for education and must not intervene in military or political matters.

"The city governor is only in charge of internal affairs and must not oversee the military. Command over the military will be in the hands of the Main Guanxuan Academy..."

"Additionally, in each city, only one person can be promoted at the end of every settlement. It can either be the Academy Master or the city governor, but not both at the same time. This system is designed to encourage competition and mutual supervision.

"Ultimately, the entire city will decide on who will be promoted. The Pavilion Master said that we must empower the people, so we decided to turn the people into overseers.

"Those in power must be supervised, or they will take everything for granted."
