I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!-Chapter 184 Ten Thousand Flowers Seek the Lone Sun
"Master, you must be joking!"
Xia Xinghe rarely spoke lightly about matters of strength.
Hearing such words from her was like hearing a mountain admit it might crumble.
"I am not joking," Xia Xinghe replied, her tone steady. "Wang Yuyan and I are both at the peak of the Core Formation Realm. In terms of pure cultivation and technique, I have confidence that I can contend with her."
She paused, her gaze lowering slightly as she recalled the encounter.
"However, there is something else within her."
Yun Luofeng’s expression slowly shifted from disbelief to unease.
Xia Xinghe’s eyes narrowed faintly.
"Something I cannot fully understand, something I cannot even name. It gave me a deeply ominous feeling. If we were to fight without restraint, there is a high likelihood that I would not survive unless I managed to retreat in time. And retreat is never a certainty in battles between cultivators."
She did not exaggerate.
"If I miscalculate even slightly, the likelihood of my death would be considerable. At the very least, that is what my intuition tells me about Wang Yuyan."
The forest seemed to grow quieter after those words.
Yun Luofeng could only stare at her master, mouth slightly open, shock written plainly across her face.
Her master was a peak Core Formation expert from the Nine Peaks Sword Sect.
Within Clear Moon City, such a figure was nearly untouchable.
And yet...
"She’s that strong?" Yun Luofeng finally whispered.
Xia Xinghe did not answer immediately.
"She is not merely strong," she said at last. "She is dangerous."
For the first time since leaving the Wang Clan, Yun Luofeng felt the playful rivalry in her heart dissolve, replaced by something colder.
Respect.
And perhaps a hint of fear.
"But let us not dwell on that," Xia Xinghe said at last, suppressing the subtle ripple of unease in her heart.
"We have a mission to fulfill, and much remains unfinished. We arrived in haste and without proper preparation. That was careless of us. We will correct it."
Her tone was calm, but Yun Luofeng knew her master well.
The calmer she sounded, the more serious the matter truly was.
Xia Xinghe retrieved a thin slip of spirit-infused paper from her sleeve and began writing with swift, precise strokes.
Each character carried a faint glow as it was inscribed, sealing the message with authority.
When she finished, she flicked her wrist lightly.
The paper folded itself into a delicate crane, its wings shimmering with spiritual light.
With a soft rustle, it rose into the air and shot toward Clear Moon City, vanishing beyond the treetops.
Less than an hour later, another crane descended silently from the darkening sky and landed in Xia Xinghe’s outstretched hand.
The Nine Peaks Sword Sect had long established quiet roots within Clear Moon City.
Though they rarely interfered directly, merchants, informants, and minor officials loyal to the sect handled the legwork when needed.
Information, above all else, was power.
Xia Xinghe unfolded the letter and scanned its contents, her expression unreadable.
"Wang Yuyan. Twenty five years old. Tenth stage of the Body Refining Realm," she read aloud, selecting the most crucial line from the detailed report.
Yun Luofeng’s brows immediately knitted together.
"Tenth stage Body Refining Realm?" she repeated incredulously.
"Master, that cannot be correct. The pressure she released earlier was far beyond Body Refining. Even I could sense it. That woman is clearly not that weak."
Xia Xinghe did not refute her.
"Perhaps," she said evenly. "Or perhaps the information is outdated."
Without hesitation, she wrote another message, this time adding a more urgent seal. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
The second crane flew off even faster than the first.
The forest grew quiet as they waited.
In less than five minutes, another paper crane pierced through the canopy and descended straight into Xia Xinghe’s palm.
The speed alone revealed the seriousness of the reply.
She unfolded it slowly, her gaze sweeping across the lines.
For the first time that evening, a faint crease appeared between her brows.
She handed the letter to Yun Luofeng without a word.
Yun Luofeng took it, her confidence still intact.
Then she read it.
Once.
Twice.
Her breathing hitched.
"What?!" she blurted out. "She was at the tenth stage of the Body Refining Realm just last week... and now she has already reached the peak of the Core Formation Realm?"
Her fingers tightened around the paper.
"And no one in the city knows?" she added, voice trembling slightly. "Except us?"
"That appears to be the case," Xia Xinghe replied quietly.
A week.
To cross entire major realms and reach its peak.
Even in the Nine Peaks Sword Sect, such speed would be considered a mere wish.
Yun Luofeng swallowed.
"That’s impossible," she whispered. "Unless..."
"Unless she concealed her cultivation all along," Xia Xinghe finished. "Or she encountered an extraordinary opportunity."
She extended a finger and tapped another line within the report.
"There is more."
Yun Luofeng forced herself to focus and followed the line of text. Her eyes landed on a name.
Her expression slowly changed as the pieces began to align in her mind.
"It says she recently met someone... someone shrouded in mystery. A teacher who, like Wang Yuyan, has undergone drastic changes during the same period. His rise was sudden, almost unnatural. People whisper that he was once unremarkable, yet in the span of a few days he transformed completely, as if he had shed his old skin and stepped into a new existence. Some call him a witch, others a heretic. They say he possesses strange methods and an even stranger temperament. That he can make anyone bald with just a glance. Most notably, he is an expert in meridian-sealing techniques and has defeated someone a full realm higher than him."
She paused, letting the weight of the information settle.
"What’s more, Wang Yuyan is willingly studying under him. Even today, she attended his class without hesitation."
Silence fell over the room.
"Yes," Xia Xinghe said at last, her eyes dark with thought.
"I believe we will find our answers in this person. Whether he is a coincidence... or the root of everything, we cannot ignore him."
"We’ll meet him tomorrow," she added, her tone calm but resolute.
Another nod followed, slower this time. Neither of them spoke further, yet the tension between them thickened.
Too many anomalies had surfaced in too short a time.
Too many changes centered around one figure.
The name lingered in the air like a drawn blade, sharp and cold, humming with unseen danger.
"Lin Feng."
