I Live on the Land in Global Games-Chapter 448 - 431 Brothers Settle Accounts Clearly
Chapter 448: Chapter 431 Brothers Settle Accounts Clearly
Mu Ying had only seen the terrain around the hole through the image provided by the Detecting Skill, so she knew roughly where the hole was.
Anyway, it was about a hundred and eighty degrees off from the direction Draco was heading.
Given his sense of direction, or lack thereof, it was lucky they had arrived quickly; Draco hadn’t gone too far, or else he would have been lost to them again.
"Hey, bro, where are you heading?" Aleksey called out loudly.
Mu Ying took the opportunity to temporarily turn off the shield charm on the Magic Flying Carpet.
Draco might have been directionally challenged, but he was still highly alert; he stopped as soon as he heard the familiar voice and locked on to where the sound was coming from.
There was that damn brother of his, waving at him from a large carpet where a floor lamp stood, with a girl with dark green curly hair and green eyes next to him — the legendary woman, or rather, girl. She seemed to be underage.
Having wandered the vast wilderness for a whole year, Draco was overjoyed to finally see someone!
Even if it was his brother, who often got him into trouble, he felt a bit of emotion.
He’d been so pitiful; as soon as he left his resting place, he couldn’t find it again, but he had to go hunting for something to eat, so he could only dig a hole to rest wherever he ended up.
His body was strong; his Strength and body attributes were both as high as 17 points, but that also meant he needed more food, and hunting wasn’t always fruitful—he often went hungry.
Luckily, after accumulating some Source Power, he was occasionally able to exchange for a super rice ball from the Trial World, one of which could provide him with three days’ worth of energy and nutrition.
From then on, he was no longer afraid of going hungry.
But it was hard going so long without someone to talk to; he used to be a civilized person, after all. Now, he was almost like a Wild Man.
Mu Ying brought the Flying Carpet down in front of Draco.
Seeing his little brother’s filthy appearance, Aleksey quickly moved several cushions to the side. The carpet had a self-cleaning function, but the cushions did not.
Draco: "..."
Any touch of emotion he had felt just then suddenly vanished into thin air.
Although he was a bit dirty now, the carpet seemed to be for avoiding the rain; walking straight onto it felt a bit embarrassing.
Mu Ying noticed his hesitation and said directly, "Come on up, it won’t get dirty, and in this cold weather, you don’t want to catch a chill."
Draco then walked up while thanking her.
His brother finding him was mainly thanks to Mu Ying. Although his brother had offered a price, Draco still felt grateful. Coming all this distance and finding him so accurately was no easy task, to the extent that he hadn’t expected Mu Ying to agree to his brother’s request. Yet, here she was.
"Don’t resist. I’ll clean and dry you off," Mu Ying said, her thorny magic wand appearing in her hand.
Draco nodded, watching her movements with curiosity in his eyes.
The process was very simple. Just a couple of taps of the wand’s tip toward him.
The first tap released moist energy that enveloped his entire body, stripping away all the dirt, including his dreadlocks, the unidentifiable color of his animal skin clothes, the crusty dirt on his skin, and even the dirt in his fingernails, as well as the rust on his large axe.
With the second tap, his body felt pleasantly warm, and his damp hair and animal skin clothes were dry.
All the dirt was enveloped by a Water Ball, which was then thrown outside of the Flying Carpet.
Draco felt a bit lighter in his body—so comfortable!
"The cleaning effect of this Spell is just too powerful!" Aleksey exclaimed. "Bro, now I can finally see a bit of your original face."
Draco shivered as he suddenly felt unusually aware of his skin making direct contact with the low temperature after being washed so clean.
Mu Ying took out the set of cold-weather clothes Aleksey had prepared for Draco. "Your brother prepared these for you."
Draco looked at Aleksey and raised an eyebrow, "Are you still my swindler of a brother?"
Aleksey: "..."
"Wear them or not, it’s your choice! Anyway, it doesn’t look like you’re afraid of the cold!"
Mu Ying quietly watched their verbal sparring.
After they had exchanged a round of brotherly banter, Mu Ying finally spoke, "It’s getting a bit late now. The nearest camp is the Su Mu Camp at the border of Xia Country, just over an hour away. How about we head to Su Mu Camp first, and then teleport from there to our Qingshan City, before taking another transmission array back to Canter Town? We could even have some fun in Qingshan City."
"Sounds good. Qingshan City is currently my most anticipated main territory, especially the test house and the Trial Takers Trading Fair. I wanted to try those out. I was initially lost and wanted to head south, to the regions of Xia Country," Draco said.
"You’re very welcome!" Mu Ying seemed to see a big, tender, fresh leek before him.
Aleksey too wanted to visit Qingshan City; had it not been for his unfortunate brother, he would have gone to Qingshan City the moment the transfer array was completed. Naturally, he agreed with Mu Ying’s suggestion.
But the unfortunate brother actually seemed to think well of Qingshan City and didn’t want to go back to Canter Town, which angered Aleksey. If he was angry, his unfortunate brother shouldn’t expect to have a good time either.
He took out something from his pocket and threw it to Draco, "Blood is thicker than water, but let’s settle debts clearly. Here’s the bill for saving you; make sure you pay it back!"
The rolled-up piece of paper looked small, but when unfolded, it was a long list.
"Expense bill for rescuing the unfortunate brother:
1. Rescue labor fee: 450 Gold Coins
2. Dear older brother’s labor fee: 10 Gold Coins
3. Dear older brother’s mental anguish fee: 10 Gold Coins
4. Dear older brother’s cost for mobilizing local people to plea for a navy: 10 Gold Coins
5. Cold-weather clothes dear older brother prepared for his brother: 10 Gold Coins
6. Living expenses dear older brother prepared for his brother: 10 Gold Coins
Total: 500 Gold Coins"
Draco suddenly had the urge to continue living his Wild Man life in the wilderness; this price was way too high!
He could understand the rescue labor fee, as the profit from a year’s usage of the Cross-Regional Transfer Array might amount to that much. But what was all this stuff about a dear older brother afterward?
"This clothing I’m wearing is worth 10 Gold Coins? Even coal isn’t as black as you are!"
"This is carefully selected by me, just for you. Where else would you find something like this in the wilderness? Or did you actually want to strut around in your messy animal skin clothes? Have you no shame? The next time someone sees you, tsk, the second-ranked person on the global level leaderboard will be known as a Wild Man, and from then on, you’ll proudly bear the title of Wild Man!"
Aleksey argued righteously.
Draco clenched his teeth, "And what about the living expenses of 10 Gold Coins?"
"The living expenses will be given to you when we split up. It includes our transmission costs as well as expenditures I’m about to incur in other territories for coming to find you. In other words, it’s the living expenses for both of us. Whatever is left over will be yours. See how rounding it to 500 Gold Coins sounds so nice, doesn’t it?" Aleksey said.
