Chapter 9: Summoning A Gun In A Fistfight

Richard was honestly astounded.

Perhaps even the most among everyone gathered in the compound.

That was because, unlike them, he recognized the weapon he was holding in his hands.

It was a gun.

A pistol, to be specific.

’I... actually summoned this with my Principal Disposition?’

He couldn’t believe it!

Honestly, Richard was lightheaded when he summoned this weapon. The pain from being trampled on by such a child, and the powerlessness from the experience, had made him so delirious that he began to hallucinate.

Vampires had a dulled sense of pain, but that didn’t mean they felt nothing.

No...

Certain things caused more pain than others, but it was trite that the loss of blood was the most painful for vampires in this world. Blood represented their life essence, so having it squeezed out was excruciating for them.

Since Selica had been causing Richard to spurt out blood, she was causing him all kinds of unbearable pain.

Pain that he could barely endure.

This was what caused him to enter a trance—one where he was buried in his hatred.

Hatred for this world!

Hatred towards the old man who didn’t explain things better.

Hatred for the parents who abandoned him.

And...

... Hatred at himself for choosing to Max Out his Luck Stat like an idiot rather than focus more on some kind of balance.

Richard had thought he was being wise back then by making this choice.

He thought it would be like a cheat code.

A glitch in the system.

Maximum luck would mean a much better life for him, even if he didn’t try at all.

But he had been proved wrong time and time again.

Without talent, charm, power, and so on, what use was luck?

What could luck actually do?

Nothing!

And now, here he was, about to be killed by a girl who wasn’t even half his total age.

Utterly pathetic!

Richard’s hatred burned the most for her.

He truly despised her.

He wanted her dead, more than anything else in the world!

It was at this moment that something snapped.

He started to imagine a gun locked in his hand—even if it were just an ordinary pistol.

He had seen them countless times in movies, and he even had the privilege of interacting with a few of them a few times when his father showed him his collection.

His country was one where gun laws were rather lax, so citizens could own them.

Of course, Richard had never fired one before.

However, he had watched his father do so countless times, and he had also seen enough movies and shows that he practically knew how they operated.

’If this were Earth... I could finish her in a single shot...’ With a gun in his hand, he pointed at Selica and shot her back then, still thinking he was hallucinating.

He didn’t realize it was all real until the loud gunshot snapped him out of his daze.

That was when it dawned on him.

"A-ahh...!"

He had summoned a gun—an actual weapon from Earth—to this world!

Unbelievable!

But, actually, it wasn’t so unthinkable.

Richard would not say guns were very ’common’ on Earth, but they were a rather popular weapon. Everyone and their mother knew what a gun was, and in his own country, the laws were lax enough for a regular citizen to own one.

In that case, it could legitimately be considered a ’common item’.

Since it could fit into his hand, and it had no Mystical Characteristic, it fulfilled the conditions necessary for [Basic Summoning].

In essence... It made sense that he could summon a freaking gun!

"W-what? What the fuck is that?!" Selica’s voice was trembling as she stared at Richard with a mix of rage and fear.

The apprehension on her face was palpable.

Richard noticed this, but he didn’t lower his hand at all.

He kept pointing the gun at her.

In fact—

BANG! 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

He shot it again, causing her to stagger once more.

Blood spurted from an entry point in her body, causing her to make what sounded like a choking sound. Her pupils thinned, turning pin-sized as she glared at him while gasping.

"You—!"

BANG!

She couldn’t even finish her statement before another shot was fired.

"Guargh!" This time, she spat out blood.

Her body quivered under the weight of three bullets entering her body. It was a terrifying experience, and the pain only aggravated her fear.

What in the world?!

What was this strange weapon that Richard was wielding?

How could it deal so much damage without a Mystical Characteristic?!

The speed of the projectile was too great—Selica could not even react to it, not to mention dodge whatever proceeded from the smoking tip of the weapon.

She stared at the gaping hole in fear.

It seemed to tell her to brace herself for impact.

And then—

BANG!

—Yet another echo of destruction burst forth, and she felt another stinging sensation assail her body in an instant.

The pain was excruciating!

Selica had never felt this level of pain in her entire life.

Her entire body was shaking.

"S-stop..."

BANG!

"... Please... Please stop..."

BANG!

"Pweashe... shtawp..."

BANG!

"... S... sh... awp...."

She was choking on her own blood now, yet the shots were still being fired.

It was too painful.

Too much!

She felt like she would die, but death was still so far away.

The projectiles were too weak to kill her.

All they did was puncture her delicate skin and draw blood from her body. This was the source of such aggravating pain.

However, Vampires were Undead.

They weren’t so easy to kill.

Thus, even though this was so painful, unless her heart was destroyed, or her head was severed and her brain ceased to function, she wouldn’t die from pure physical damage.

As a Vampire himself, Richard should have known that.

That had to mean he was doing this intentionally—prolonging her suffering as punishment.

Punishment for how she treated him.

’S-sick bastard... please just stop!’ She was crying at this point, the fear and pain morphing into something akin to a terrified child’s scream.

’Someone... anyone... please just make it stop, I beg you!’
