I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 101: Blaze vs Zach (1)

"Enough talking. Let’s fight!"

Blaze raises his hand, and the Destruction Wand appears.

"I was about to say the same thing."

Zach also reaches out, a spear appears in his hand.

He is the only one that isn’t wearing any armor and only has his plain clothes on. The only device he has is the Circlet on his head.

And then a golden light fills the space. A gold chestplate envelops Zach’s upper body.

On the chest of the armor is a symbol of a sun.

Wait... Why is that symbol so familiar?

Blaze thinks. That symbol is exactly like the symbol that materializes behind Blaze’s back when he activates Sunrise and wears the Solar Armor.

Zach’s armor even has many characteristics that are similar to the Solar Armor.

But the Solar Armor looks royal and godly. While Zach’s armor seems like an average soldier without any of the godly aspects.

This causes Blaze to think they are connected somehow.

"You know what to do."

Blaze says.

"I am, sire."

Hutton says.

The white temporal energy covers Hutton, and he disappears at an insane speed.

Blaze breathes in again, once again activating Lightning Ascension. He blinks away from the spot.

The only people who have seen Blaze move this quickly were Anderson’s troops. But they are all dead.

This information wasn’t leaked to the police, so they are all surprised when they see Blaze move.

"Goddamnit! A Speedster!"

And then the police scatter.

Hutton takes care of the nineteen men while Blaze goes straight at Zach first.

To break the enemy spirit, you must first cut off its head.

Zach is the deputy, killing him will be a devastating blow to the enemy’s morale. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Zach also knows that he cannot let Blaze run free, or else Blaze can kill his troops in a matter of seconds.

The two have a silent agreement and leave their subordinates to fend for themselves.

Hutton has the A-rank power Temporal Energy Manipulation. An insane power that should be no problem dealing with the other cops.

Blaze has no worry about him and focuses on defeating Zach.

He dashes to the side and aims the Destruction Wand at Zach. The red lightning screams and bolts forward.

The deputy spins his spear, creating an artificial shield in front of him.

The red lightning smashes on the spear, pushing Zach flying in the air, going through the wall.

He is sent flying outside the building, landing in the inner yard.

But the red lightning bolt doesn’t stop, it keeps striking.

The A-rank power Thunder Force is amplified several times thanks to Arcane Conduit. A mere B-rank power that Zach has isn’t enough to stop it.

The red lightning breaks the spear in half and strikes onto Zach’s armor, grinding him down.

The red lightning keeps going and dragging Zach several meters on the ground, destroying his armor bit by bit.

Zach has underestimated Thunderbolt far too much.

He still thinks that Blaze was only the Electrokinesis user back in the Roof. A terrifying B-rank, but that is it.

He cannot imagine that Blaze has become an A-rank just in a matter of days.

"Fuck you!"

Zach pulls out an orange stone from his pocket. He uses all of his strength to crush it.

A golden energy envelops Zach, creating a sphere of light.

The red lightning bolt is finally unable to damage Zach further and stops in its tracks. Its electrical energy grinds on the sphere but is unable to penetrate it.

The lightning bolt gives out eventually, and Blaze dashes out from the building. Only to see the sphere of light.

"What is it this time?"

Blaze thought this was going to be a short fight when Zach’s spear broke and he was completely at the mercy of Thunderbolt. But things have taken a turn.

The sphere of light fades, and in it stands a golden warrior with a white cape behind his back.

Zach’s armor did not have a helmet, but the sphere of light has given him one. A golden helmet with a faceplate in front, covering everything except his two eyes.

His armor transformed as well. Before, it only had a chest plate. But now the armor materializes completely with arms and legs protection.

The sun symbol in the front is even more detailed and noble.

"Can’t believe that I have to use a Sunstone for you."

Zach says. He grabs at the air, and a spear materializes again.

This spear is thicker and longer, with the sharp tip made out of a glowing white crystal.

"Your power is interesting..."

Blaze now wants to kill Zach more than ever. Killing him, and he will be able to learn what he knows about this sun symbol.

He has a feeling the Sun Bird has a big connection to it.

Zach points the spear toward Blaze and steps one foot backward. He turns into a white blur and slams the spear at Blaze.

His speed is not comparable to Blaze, but he can be called an official Speedster now.

Blaze easily steps aside and dodges the attack. He points the Destruction Wand at Zach when he passes by, letting the red lightning bolt out.

To his surprise, the lightning bolt strikes the armor but does not penetrate it, only leaving a tiny scratch.

Zach turns in the middle of his rushing and swings his spear at Blaze.

Blaze ducks down, pointing the wand at Zach’s stomach.

Thunder roars again, and this time, still nothing but a scratch.

Zach slams the tip of his spear down at Blaze. He easily evades it again. But this time, Zach turns the handle of his spear.

The crystal at the top lights up, and a white shockwave blasts out, pushing Blaze away a few meters. The wave contains tiny little white fangs that cut into his Tattered Cloak.

Zach swings his spear horizontally. A wide white fang is drawn with the strike, flying towards Blaze.

Blaze shoots the Grappling Hook to the top of the building, pulling himself out of the fang radius.

The white fang slices through the cars behind him, cutting them in half.

After transformation, Zach’s destructive capability and his durability become so much stronger. Combined with that respectable speed, he has now become an actual threat.

Even Thunderbolt can’t pierce his armor now.

Blaze doesn’t think that this is due to the lack of power of the Thunderbolt. Instead, he thinks that the armor has some kind of anti-energy ability.

"You cops really are strong. Much harder to deal with than the criminals."

Blaze says. He lets out his breath to pause the Lightning Ascension.

He is on top of the building now, and they are quite far apart. Enough time for Blaze to catch a breath.

"Cops? So you are the one that helped Sebastian?

I assume you killed Anderson as well."

Zach says. He hurls the tips of the spear into a circle.

A white circle made out of energy is created. An invisible force lashes out at Blaze to pull him closer.

"Heh. No need for that trick.

I intend to do this close and dirty as well."

Blaze shoots the Grappling Hook to another position, getting out of the force effective radius.

In mid-air, he unequips the Destruction Wand and takes the Moonlight Karambit out.

For barrier piercing, nothing can match this blade.

Blaze slices it into his palm, letting the blade consume his blood.

The Moonlight Karambit glows red, ready to penetrate the golden armor.
