I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 116: Aftermath

"Is it finally over?" The Brutalist sits on his butt, breathing heavily.

He pulls off his visor and throws it on the ground, now using his real face to look at the world.

The Crimson pats him on the shoulder.

"It seems so. Take a break. I will handle the rest."

"Thank God for you being here, Captain."

The Crimson helps his other teammates up and tells them to return to the flying aircraft for immediate recovery. They have a special healing compartment up there that can speed up their healing by a lot.

Blaze buys a Blood Potion and throws it to the Crimson. He catches it effortlessly.

"Take it. Tell me if you need more."

The Crimson throws the bottle back.

"We don’t need it. There are healing capsules on the ship."

Blaze grabs the bottle in mid-air and walks over to the Crimson.

"We are on the same side now. Take it. Take another one for good measure.

You don’t need to use it, but I bet it can be a lifesaver at the right time."

The Crimson stares at the two bottles of Blood Potion. These are top-of-the-line healing items that you can’t find anywhere in Ranas. It is comparable to the best stuff they have on the market.

The Crimson wants to take it, of course. But he is still a bit resistant to accepting anything from Blaze.

Just half an hour ago, they were still enemies that tried to kill each other.

"Why do you become the Captain of the A-Force, De Gea?" Blaze suddenly says.

A smirk appears on Thomas’s mouth corner.

"Money and fame. What else?"

"If a normal cop from Akansa tells me this, I will believe him. But you aren’t this person, De Gea.

I know it from our fight."

Thomas exhales a long breath, he removes his visor to see Blaze eye to eye. He lets go of his facade, both physically and mentally.

His normal blue eyes and Blaze’s deep, glowing gold eyes face each other.

"To protect the innocent and punish the guilty."

Thomas says it very slowly. He has told many people about this, and a lot of them made fun of him. Only his teammates understand his goal.

Blaze laughs just like Thomas predicted. But his next word is completely different from what Thomas presumed.

"An honorable purpose. I am much more selfish, though. I only want to make this city a better place for the people I care about."

"You have people? I meant... You have someone you care about?"

"Of course. Don’t be fooled by whatever that being said before. I am not a demon but merely a human."

Blaze tells the truth. But for some reason, Thomas doesn’t believe it one bit. The only thing he knows for sure is that the Wraith also has humanity inside him, even if he, himself, is inhuman.

"You are a bizarre creature, Wraith. And you are right, this liquid will prove useful in emergency situations."

And finally, Thomas accepts Blaze’s gift and takes the two bottles of potion.

Isaac has turned back into a raven and lands on Blaze’s shoulder. He is shaking heavily like a cold bird under the rain. The black color of his feathers even lost some of its shade and turned white at the tip.

"I do not want to go into the brain of that guy anymore!" Isaac says. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"What happened to you?" Blaze is curious.

According to the System, Sebastian has an S-rank power. But that isn’t an actual power, it is a ’False S-Rank’. Blaze does not know what this means just yet.

"Our minds were connected for a bit."

"You fused together?"

"No. Not fusion. I fall into Sebastian’s mind. I can’t believe that he met the Wight Lady before and got out alive."

"You meant Caroline Wright? William’s mother?"

Isaac nods solemnly.

"There’s more to the story. But it is a very long one. I think Master should have a talk with Sebastian when possible."

"I will. Eventually."

Sebastian is Blaze’s first candidate for the role of the Chief of Police. He will definitely have a serious talk with the man soon.

Sebastian is currently on a call. From the sound of it, the person on the other line is Dominic. He must be informing him of the result.

Hugo and Anton are too weak, so Blaze just returns them to the Clone Storage.

Blaze shoots the Grappling Hook and uses it to climb out of the hole in the ground. He barely used this device in battle anymore. Its speed is much too slow for Blaze.

Their battle started on the surface and kept going down and down. It even reached the sewer where Sebastian was.

When Blaze gets out of the hole, he can finally have a good view of the Police Headquarters.

The inner yard is completely destroyed. The flat surface fills with rocky terrain and debris. Pipes burst out from the ground. Water flooding the parking lot.

Even the main building has been decimated by one-third. The front face of the building is completely ruined.

Blaze has really smashed this place to the ground.

He wasn’t able to do it alone. If the A-Force did not join his side mid-battle, Blaze may have lost his life in this dangerous endeavor.

This makes him realize he has become too cocky just because of his high-ranked power. He has the strength but not the skill to masterfully show his full potential.

With the police department wiped out, Akansa City should be rid of their corruption for a while. But this will also allow other criminal organizations to try and take over Akansa.

Adam is guilty and dirty, but his Police Force did maintain order for this city. Without him, all hell will break loose.

"That is not going to happen."

Blaze mumbles. Adam may be gone, but the Wraith is here. He will make sure the criminal of this city knows his malevolence.

They must fear his name, have nightmares of his figure, and respect his judgment.

Blaze walks outside the gate with yellow electricity dancing around his right arm.

And he strikes the ground with the lightning bolt, carving a sentence onto it.

"Fear the name of the Wraith, sinners."
