I opened a shop on the Astral Train-Chapter 79
Chapter 79 - 79
Inside Northland Bank.
Barnabas listened attentively as the young master and the lady reported on their work.
The lady spoke first, her tone steady and respectful.
"Lord Barnabas, we have been following your instructions and have been strictly controlling our men to prevent them from causing trouble."
Barnabas smiled approvingly.
"Thank you for your hard work, Rosalyn."
The lady shook her head with humility.
"This is what I should do, Your Majesty."
The young master, curious as ever, asked, "My Queen, I wonder why you have come to Liyue in person? If you have any orders, you need only send word. Why trouble yourself with such a long journey?"
Barnabas looked at the young master, pleased with his loyalty. Among the Fatui, the most devoted to him were these ladies and gentlemen.
"There are matters I must handle personally. Have you discovered anything of importance during this time?" Barnabas inquired.
The young master nodded.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Recently, many visitors from other worlds have arrived in Liyue."
Barnabas raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Visitors from another world?"
"That's right," the young master confirmed. "Master Hu of the Wangsheng Hall recently opened a new business called an Internet Cafe. The equipment used in this industry originates from another world."
Intrigued, Barnabas leaned forward slightly.
"An Internet Cafe? Where is it? Take me to see it."
The lady responded immediately, "It's right next door."
With the lady and the young man leading the way, Barnabas stepped into the Internet Cafe next to Wangsheng Hall.
The Lantern Festival was fast approaching, and many people were on holiday. The Internet Cafe was packed, the first-floor lobby buzzing with activity. Some people stood behind others, peering curiously at their screens, offering advice, and cheering in excitement.
As soon as Barnabas and his entourage entered, a ceremonial girl at the reception desk recognized them. They were, after all, esteemed customers.
The young master and the lady had both reserved e-sports rooms on the third floor for the entire month.
"Welcome, distinguished guests, to the Wangsheng Hall Internet Cafe," the ceremonial officer greeted them warmly.
The young master gave her a polite nod.
"No need to mind us, we can handle everything ourselves."
With that, the young master dismissed the ceremonial officer to ensure no one would disturb the Queen.
As they ascended the stairs, the lady explained to Barnabas what a computer was. He found the concept fascinating.
"I want to try it, but it seems there are no available seats," Barnabas mused.
The lady smiled.
"Don't worry, Your Majesty. I have an e-sports room on the third floor. I'll take you there."
Barnabas was pleasantly surprised. "Then let's have a look."
They reached the quieter third floor, where a staff member stood at the entrance to verify reservations. Only those who had booked an e-sports room were allowed access.
Guided by the lady, Barnabas entered smoothly. As they walked through the corridor, the door at the far end opened, and Nahida stepped out.
Barnabas caught a fragment of her conversation with someone inside.
"Your Majesty Asmodeus, I'm going to buy some food."
A familiar voice responded from within.
"Please bring me some. I want the grilled goby from Lao Liu, roast chicken from Lao Li, and fried rice from Lao Zhao."
Nahida nodded in understanding.
The recent boom in business at Wangsheng Hall Internet Cafe had attracted numerous street vendors, much to Asmodeus' delight. Not only was the food delicious, but it was also conveniently available just downstairs.
As Nahida turned, she spotted Barnabas.

"Your Majesty Barnabas?"
Barnabas nodded in acknowledgment.
"Your Majesty, where are you heading?" Nahida asked.
"Just exploring," Barnabas replied.
Nahida explained, "It's almost lunchtime. I'm heading downstairs to buy some food."
Barnabas now understood the situation, then asked, "Is that person here?"
Nahida nodded slightly.
"Yes, Her Majesty Asmodeus is currently a guest official of Wangsheng Hall. She's in charge of helping Hall Master Hu dig tunnels and managing security for the Internet Cafe."
Barnabas' expression twitched. The almighty upholder of justice, Her Majesty Asmodeus, ruler of the skies... working in an Internet Cafe?
This revelation completely shattered his understanding of the world.
Nahida noticed the lady and young master behind Barnabas and immediately understood why they were here.
"I'll be off then. Enjoy your time," she said before walking past them.
Barnabas, still processing the shock, stepped aside to let her pass.
The lady, puzzled by her Queen's sudden unease, asked, "Your Majesty, who was that little girl?"
Barnabas took a deep breath before answering.
"She... she is the ruler of Sumeru, Buer."
The lady and the young master were stunned.
"What?!"
The young master, ever perceptive, pieced things together.
"The only person who could ask Lord Grass God to fetch food for them is..."
Barnabas looked at him. He was unexpectedly sharp today.
"That's right."
The young master and the lady gasped.
"Then, Queen, do we still want to go online?" the young master asked hesitantly.
Barnabas glanced toward the end of the corridor, deep in thought. Then he made his decision.
"It doesn't matter. Let's play our game."
With that, Barnabas entered the lady's e-sports room. The lady and the young master exchanged looks before quickly following, carefully closing the door behind them as if afraid of disturbing the presence nearby.
Seeing their nervous expressions, Barnabas reassured them.
"Don't worry. The past has been written off. From now on, we simply follow orders. Understood?"
The lady and the young master nodded solemnly.
No wonder the Queen had ordered the halt of collecting God's Hearts and commanded them to restrain their subordinates.
It all made sense now—because that person had already come forth.
Meanwhile, Nahida walked out of the Internet Cafe, navigating through the lively street to reach Lao Liu's grilled fish stall.
"Boss, two servings of grilled goby, one spicy and one not spicy, please."
Lao Liu nodded.
"Alright, wait a moment."
Looking at the queue, Nahida estimated she would be waiting for a while. She found a seat nearby and sat down.
From her spot, she noticed Guinevere and Yuri performing not far away.
Yuri lay on a table with a stone slab placed on her torso, while Guinevere held a gong, beating it rhythmically.
"Don't miss it! Step right up! The legendary Stone-Breaking Chest act is about to begin!"
The crowd, intrigued, gathered to watch.
Yuri, lying there, trembled. "Guinevere, are you sure this is safe?"
Guinevere gave a confident thumbs-up. "No worries, I've got this!"
Raising a sledgehammer, she brought it down onto the slab with full force.
Just before impact, Nahida subtly used her divine power to create an invisible barrier between Yuri's body and the stone.
The slab shattered into pieces upon impact.
"Amazing!" someone cheered, and applause erupted from the crowd.
Guinevere's collection bucket overflowed with Mora in an instant.
