I Pick up a Lost Godhood-Chapter 35 - 33: Robbery
"Just die already!"
BOOM...
Ignoring the Fire Talisman, Shenn Tu swung his war axe straight at Zhou Qian’s head. Zhou Qian immediately threw out a Fire Talisman, not at Shenn Tu, but at the axe itself. At the same time, he ducked and slipped under Shenn Tu’s arm.
’This can’t go on,’ he thought. ’Meddling in this business was already a bad investment. If I get hurt, I’ll be a complete fool who’s lost everything.’
Shattered stones flew everywhere. Shenn Tu was furious. These damn Fire Talismans couldn’t hurt him, but they were certainly making a mess of him. In such a short time, the bastard had already unleashed more than forty Fire Talismans. ’How the hell is Thunderlight City still hiding a guy like this?’
BOOM...
Shenn Tu was getting vicious. Zhou Qian sighed as an oversized Fire Talisman materialized in his hand. Gasps erupted from the crowd. Shenn Tu’s eyes went bloodshot. ’Son of a bitch, a Bursting Fire Talisman!’
A gout of flame shot toward Shenn Tu’s head. A direct hit would leave even a Body Cultivator half-dead.
But Shenn Tu was skilled. He wrenched his war axe out of its attack path, shifting from offense to defense to smash the incoming Bursting Fire Talisman.
BOOM...
Shenn Tu was sent flying more than twenty feet. The disciples of Thunderlight Hall erupted in frenzied cheers. Crafting a Bursting Fire Talisman required a Cultivation of at least the Fifteenth Layer. Zhou Qian had silently reached the Fifteenth Layer! This news was as explosive as Zhao Guang’s transfer to another hall.
But from within the blaze, Shenn Tu’s wild laughter rang out. "What are you going to do? That didn’t even land a clean hit! If you’ve got the guts, try another one!"
Zhou Qian hadn’t expected his Bursting Fire Talisman to be blocked. Shenn Tu’s right hand was injured, but he still had his left. As for Zhou Qian, he had used up most of his Elemental Power on that attack.
"I surrender," Zhou Qian said with a wry smile.
"Surrender? You think you can just surrender whenever you want? I’m not finished yet!"
BANG...
Another Fire Talisman shot over. "Senior Brother Shenn, that’s enough. The fight is over."
Hu Jing stepped forward, and hope sparked anew in everyone’s eyes. Her meteoric progress had become the new dawn for Thunderlight Hall, but at her current level, she was likely still no match for Shenn Tu.
"Who is it!"
Shenn Tu whirled around. He froze for a moment when he saw Hu Jing. "Damn it, have all the men in Thunderlight Hall gone extinct? Another woman. You must be Hu Jing?"
"I am Hu Jing. What guidance do you have for me, Senior Brother Shenn?"
Looking at Hu Jing, Shenn Tu found it difficult to unleash his usual roguish demeanor. Of all the female cultivators he’d ever seen, only she could compare to Yang Ying of Flying Phoenix Hall. In fact, her aura was quite similar to Yang Ying’s from a few years back. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Hu Jing was Elder Zhao’s Direct Disciple, so he couldn’t act too recklessly. If their strengths were comparable, a battle would be fine. But Hu Jing was new to cultivation; bullying the weak would lead to serious trouble.
"Since Junior Sister Hu has spoken up, I’ll drop it," Shenn Tu said. "But this guy has to compensate me for my trouble. Ten Spirit Stones, and I’ll consider the matter settled."
Arrogant as he was, he was still focused on making a profit. With Hu Jing’s appearance, the matter was pretty much over. He had both flaunted Hengshan Hall’s dominance and was about to get a reward.
One shouldn’t assume that being bullied would make them resentful. Cultivators admired the strong. In fact, many disciples transferred to Hengshan Hall precisely to avoid being bullied. Hengshan Hall might not have been the strongest, but in a fight, they were absolutely the most ferocious and united.
Hengshan Hall’s slogan was that they were the only ones who got to beat people up, not the other way around. If they could use ten people to beat up one, they wouldn’t waste nine of them. It was only because they were on Thunderlight Hall’s home turf that they had resorted to a duel; in a group brawl, they would be at a disadvantage.
Ten Spirit Stones?
"Why don’t you just go rob someone!"
The crowd was instantly enraged. Cultivation wasn’t easy. They all struggled to accumulate contribution points to trade for Spirit Stones for their breakthroughs. And this guy had the audacity to demand ten just like that.
"No Spirit Stones is also an option," Shenn Tu said. "He’s been hitting me this whole time. Let me land one blow on him, and we’ll call it even. Hmph, otherwise, I’m not afraid to take this matter to the Main Hall!"
Zhou Qian smiled wryly. ’That son of a bitch is being direct, at least. If a Technique Cultivator like me took one hit from him... I wouldn’t die—he wouldn’t have the guts for that—but a broken bone would be a certainty.’
Hu Jing gritted her teeth. "Then I will accept Senior Brother Shenn’s challenge!"
Zhou Qian froze, not expecting Hu Jing to make a move. Shenn Tu was also stunned. Hu Jing clearly hadn’t even reached the Tenth Layer of Cultivation. Fighting him was just asking for a beating, wasn’t it?
"Junior Sister Hu, surely you don’t think I’m the type to go easy on a beautiful woman? Sorry, but my favorite pastime is crushing beautiful flowers. I’ve already given you face. If you insist on getting involved, then don’t blame me for not holding back!"
"Cut the crap," Hu Jing said resolutely. "I’m a disciple of Thunderlight Hall, and I won’t stand by while someone runs rampant here!"
Hearing her words, the blood of the surrounding Body and Sword Cultivators started to boil. ’Son of a bitch! These guys are shitting on our heads, and we’re just hiding in our shells like turtles? Are we even men?’
"That’s right! Let’s beat these Hengshan Hall bastards back!" "Yeah, Hengshan Hall is full of thugs! We should all jump in and beat them up together!"
The crowd’s passion was ignited. Shenn Tu’s expression flickered, but this clearly wasn’t his first time facing such a scene. A cold sneer touched his lips. "What? You want a mob fight? Go on, brothers, stand still and let them have their fill. But I’ll tell you this: either you kill all of us today, or tomorrow, you’ll learn what a real mob is, and what a real gang-beating feels like!"
The crowd faltered. Hengshan Hall indeed had the largest number of disciples, and they were infamous for their group brawls. All the other Sub-Halls, with the exception of the talent-filled Dao Guang Hall, were wary of them.
"When a dog bites a man, a man doesn’t bite the dog back."
"Of course. We in Thunderlight Hall have some class, after all."
Wang Meng and Zhang Xiaopang always loved to chime in one after the other, just like back in their street-brawling days. Whether or not they could actually win a fight was one thing, but they would never lose a verbal battle.
The expressions of the Hengshan Hall members immediately soured. Shenn Tu’s eyes bulged. "Fine. I want to see for myself which master here has the balls to call the people of Hengshan Hall dogs!"
"There are many kinds of dogs," Wang Meng said with a grin, a hoe resting on his shoulder. "You have your mangy dogs, your lap dogs, and of course, the kind that loves to snarl and bare its teeth but is really all bark and no bite." Beside him, the ever-cocky Zhang Xiaopang shot Hu Jing a wink.
The moment Wang Meng arrived, Hu Jing felt an inexplicable sense of calm. But then she had a second thought. ’Wait a minute, with Wang Meng’s level of strength...’
Shenn Tu was so furious he laughed. "How interesting. Thunderlight Hall is truly full of crouching tigers and hidden dragons if even farmers are stepping up. One of you, go smash his teeth in for me!"
"S-Senior Brother Wang, they’re bad people. You shouldn’t provoke them." Ma Tian’Er summoned courage from nowhere and tugged on Wang Meng’s sleeve.
"Senior Brother, let Suo Ming handle this trash!" A Body Cultivator, nearly seven feet tall and rippling with muscle, stepped forward. A deep scar slashed across his face—rumored to have been earned in a fight against someone from Dao Guang Hall. He was one of Hengshan Hall’s top fighters.
"Suo Ming, he just called us dogs. Don’t hold back!"
Suo Ming stepped forward, hefting a large hammer. "Don’t worry, Senior Brother. We at Hengshan Hall are merciful. I’ll make sure it’s over for him in one go!"
