Chapter 134: Chapter134-That’s It? We Won Already?

As Thomas stood on high alert, his gaze locked onto the far end of the Rainbow Bridge, prepared to strike at a moment’s notice, something strange began to occur.

Across the bridge, in the dense fog that cloaked the other side, a disturbance rippled through the mist. Then, unexpectedly, an ancient-looking village began to take shape.

Upon closer inspection, it became clear that this was the Dark God’s domain!

Its size was underwhelming—roughly comparable to the combined area of a few merged villages, nowhere near the scale of their own Annasi Town, which had already developed into a flourishing city.

"Where are the rest of the Dark God’s devotees? Are they all hiding inside those little huts?" Thomas muttered.

But as he continued observing, he noticed something strange—there wasn’t even the faintest sign of life within the village. Not a single fluctuation of mana or blood aura could be felt.

Could it be... that the wave of devotees they had just crushed was the Dark God’s entire fighting force?

This possibility suddenly dawned on Hibrael and the others, who exchanged odd looks.

Wasn’t this battle supposed to be incredibly brutal?

They had gone into it fully prepared to die—but this? This was laughable.

One clash, and the enemy devotees had been utterly obliterated?

This was far too weak. Completely underwhelming.

Their opponents hadn’t even put up a fight.

All eyes turned to Thomas, filled with disbelief and speechless confusion. Thomas himself was at a loss for words.

Sure, their opponent was a Dark God... but were their followers really this pitiful?

There had been zero threat. It was like chopping through dead wood—it was an absolute slaughter.

"Looks like I gave the Dark God too much credit. No—maybe we underestimated Deus Initium!"

He raised his head confidently.

"I knew that under the blessing of Deus Initium, we would be invincible!"

[System Notification: Congratulations, host! Victory in the Devotee Battle. Opponent’s god will suffer a 30% reduction in combat effectiveness.]

Reading the system prompt, Owen nodded in satisfaction.

He had been confident from the beginning that he could take down a 1-Star Peak Ancient God, but now that the opponent was also suffering a debuff, the odds of his victory were even more guaranteed.

In fact, at this point, it was certain.

[Vassal God Battle is about to begin. You may now deploy your Vassal Gods, Infernal Envoys, and Ghosts.]

[Defeat in this round will cause a 30% reduction in power for the losing side.]

As the new message appeared before him, Owen turned his attention to the changing Rainbow Bridge.

The original single path split into three distinct bridges.

The central bridge radiated divine might—clearly the battlefield reserved for the final God-vs-God battle.

The left bridge, however, grew darker by the second. A dense aura of hellish energy billowed forth—it was obviously the arena for the Vassal God Battle.

Owen scanned the battlefield briefly, then looked to James and Tommy, who had been waiting in silent readiness.

"It’s your turn. Go. Take down their Vassal Gods, Infernal Envoys, and Ghosts—make it quick and clean."

James and Tommy nodded firmly, then led their forces forward like a pair of black beasts charging into battle.

Unlike others who were new to the Gods’ War, they had long been prepared. After all, they themselves had become gods—not full-fledged Ancient Gods yet, but strong enough to influence battles of this scale.

They had also witnessed the entirety of the earlier Devotee Battle.

Now that the Vassal God round had begun, the strange restrictions that had limited their divine powers had been lifted. It was finally time for them to go all out.

Soon, under their command, a formidable contingent of 226 Infernal Envoys emerged from the shadows.

Among them:

Two had reached Tier-4 Advanced,Ten had reached Tier-3 Advanced,Twenty were Tier-2 Advanced,The remaining 200 were Tier-2 Beginner.

This was a force that could not be underestimated.

As James gave the cold command, the Infernal Envoys tightened their grips on their Hellish Artifacts—each a sinister black scythe gleaming with murderous light—and surged onto the battlefield.

At the same time, James drew a deep breath, and the hazy image of mountains and vast earth manifested faintly behind him.

Though they were no longer in their home territory, this realm was extremely special—its connection to the divine plane allowed certain gods to channel their powers as though they were still within their domain.

As the God of Earth, James could draw upon the strength of the land itself, elevating his combat power to nearly Tier-6 levels.

Simultaneously, Tommy’s body rippled like flowing water, transforming into a stream of black mist.

Within this river of shadows, Mia and Ethan led the ghosts into battle.

Currently, their ghost army had grown to 175:

2 at Grade C,3 at Grade D,20 at Grade E,150 at Grade F.

Though ghosts lacked memory, their loss of identity only made them more ferocious and fearless.

Mia, leading the vanguard, was practically trembling with excitement. Watching James and Tommy rise to godhood had filled her with a burning desire to do the same.

She knew that in order to earn the favor of Deus Initium, faith alone wouldn’t be enough—she needed merit, and lots of it.

Now, the perfect opportunity had arrived!

She couldn’t let it slip away.

"Kill!"

Her voice rang out as the ghosts under her command surged forward with terrifying speed.

"I just hope the enemy’s Vassal Gods, Infernal Envoys, and Ghosts won’t be as pathetic as their devotees. I want a real fight."

On the other side of the bridge...

Alina stared at the two newly-formed Rainbow Bridges with a serious, heavy expression.

"This is it. My last chance."

"If I lose this round, then in the final battle of gods, I almost certainly won’t stand a chance."

"Only by winning the Vassal God battle can I bring our power back onto equal footing."

"Thankfully, I’ve been preparing for this for a long time."

Although she hadn’t yet acquired a Vassal God, her forces weren’t weak.

She had:

Two Tier-3 Infernal Envoys,Six Tier-2 Infernal Envoys,Thirty Tier-1 Infernal Envoys,

Her ghost forces were similarly strong in both quantity and power.

She had invested a huge amount of Divine Points into their growth.

"Sure, his devotees are impressive," Alina thought to herself. "But that just proves he focused all his resources there. There’s no way he has strong Vassal Gods too. That’s where I’ll win this."

Her eyes turned red with fervor. Though she appeared confident on the surface, deep down, anxiety gnawed at her.

She needed the enemy’s Vassal God lineup to be terrible—ideally laughably bad.

That was the only way she could level the playing field.

A win here would inflict a 30% penalty on her opponent. With that, and her carefully prepared tactics, she stood a real chance of winning the final round.

With both hope and dread swirling in her heart, she watched as her Infernal Envoys and ghosts marched onto the Rainbow Bridge.

Then... the mist opposite began to part.

Alina’s pupils constricted. Her entire face contorted with disbelief and horror.

Vassal Gods?!

There weren’t just one—but two Vassal Gods.

And not just any Vassal Gods... two 1-Star Peak Vassal Gods.

The same level as herself—a 1-Star Peak Ancient God.

How was this possible?!

She had invested everything she had to become a 1-Star Peak Ancient God—and even then, it had cost her dearly.

And yet this enemy god not only had Vassal Gods—but two, both at the very same rank as her?

What kind of monster was she facing?

What was she supposed to fight with now?
