I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 15:Change in plans?
Alaric was walking down the academy’s winding paths going to find the prince in the training grounds.
While Solaris had complained about teaching he had been told by his majesty to go back and bring talents to the palace since the nobles were also eyeing them.
This year as expected had been the year the academy got unique gifts which was obvious since the protagonist was in the academy.
He didn’t even know where the protagonist was but he knew he was in the academy.
Atheline was almost at the barracks when something peculiar caught his eyrs. Curses and shouts, it was clear someone was being bullied.
A normal occasion in the academy. Nobles often took out their anger on commoners.
He was about to ignore it when a word caught his eye.
"Who do you think you are for getting Lady Fenalins attention, you little shit.."
"Stop calling me that my name is Caius, " a firmer but somewhat weak voice came.
This was enough to get Atheline’s attention, how could it not? That was the protagonist’s name and there was no way anyone else would have the same name as him.
Atheline smiled,’ What an incredible coincidence ’
He walked around the bend and came to a small clearing covered by bushes.
Atheline stopped just out of eye shot and listened as the protagonist was bullied. He waited for almost ten minutes before he pushed the bushes to the side and came into view.
’Time to put my acting skills in place’
His arrival startled the bullies. They clearly recognised him with how much they jumped back from the crouching protagonist.
"What are you doing?, How disgraceful this is, for a student to bully a fellow student. "
"We..he.. its his fault, " the bullies pointed at the beaten protagonist clearly trying to shift all the blame to him.
Atheline felt like laughing.
’How typical.’
"What houses do you belong to.. No don’t even tell me you’ll be facing your due consequences. Run along and prepare for your suspension."
The bullies paled, they were about to beg for forgiveness but Atheline’s gaze was enough to stop them in their tracks.
They ran faster than their legs could carry them tripping over each other as they disappeared.
He turned his attention to the protagonist. Long blond curly hair, blue eyes, and a well-built body. He really was protagonist material in everything.
He was looking up at Atheline with eyes full of gratitude.
Atheline smiled and extended his gloved hand to him.
"You should get up."
Caius hesitantly took his hand and stood up but stumbled. Atheline’s hand was the only thing that kept him upright.
’They really did a number on him, huh’
Caius had bruises everywhere, it was clear those little pricks didn’t hold back in their attack.
"Here, drink this."
He gave him a low-grade healing potion but it was still considered high-grade among commoners.
Caius hesitated.
"Are you sure young lord, this is an expensive potion."
Atheline chuckled and pushed it closer to him.
"You don’t have to worry about it, just drink it."
Caius eventually took it. His body visibly started to heal just after a drink. He let go of Atheline’s hand that was supporting him and stepped back and bowed.
"Thank you for your help young lord."
Atheline chuckled inwardly. He had planned on avoiding the protagonist but it wouldn’t hurt to keep him close.
Fate had brought him to him and he was planning on molding him into the perfect pawn.
From his little memories, it will take some time before the disaster came.
He had enough time to prepare.
’Time to play the good and responsible noble card’
"Do you want me to take you back, I’ll be going to the headmaster’s office to report them and I might need your testimony since I don’t know them very well."
Atheline started to walk away but the protagonist grabbed his robe, then noticed and let go in a hurry. It left a dirty spot.
’This is white.’
Atheline was tempted to throw it away. He smiled at the clearly scared protagonist.
"Is something the matter?"
"Don’t report them...Please," he begged while still avoiding his eyes.
’Stupid’
He had heard of protagonists being kind and brain-dead but this was excessive. Being overpowered seems to be the only thing that keeps them alive. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Why, they did something against the rule..." Atheline paused and looked down at Caius with a face filled with conflict.
"But..they..." Caius stuttered as he tried to find a valid reason.
"Alright i won’t, they’ve already seen me it should be enough to spread a rumour. "
"Thank you."
Atheline chuckled. Right now the protagonist was just starting out and his power was about to start growing at an exponential rate.
It was the academy arc by the way and obviously his graduation would be to fight the villainess.
’I don’t understand why others made their protagonist children. He looks fifteen. Its good for me anyway, they’re easier to manipulate.’
"Why did they attack you?" Atheline asked.
"I don’t know, it’s probably just for fun," Caius said while avoiding his eyes.
The shouts from the barracks grew louder, reminding Atheline that he was on the verge of being late.
"I should get going but if you never need me you can come to my home, I’ll be available. We’re friends now aren’t we?"
Caius’s eyes widened, he tried to shake his head but Atheline’s intense gaze made him nod.
"Yes young lord. "
’Time to play the sympathy card’
"I’m sorry if it feels imposing, " Atheline started then paused for the effect," but as a noble I’ve always wanted friends and I’m happy to have you as one but if you don’t want to its okay i’m not.."
"No, young lord I’ll be your friend. You helped me in my time of need. "
Atheline smiled.
"Good...I’ll keep that in mind. You can go back and clean yourself up, you don’t want your teachers to see you do you?"
Caius nodded and left with Atheline’s gaze on him. Athrline turned back and walked towards the barracks, his mind formulating how to play with the protagonist.
