I Shall Cuck Everyone-Chapter 475: King Monrok
I grabbed Aurelia and lifted us both into the air.
She immediately wrapped her arms around me like I might drop her, which honestly wasn’t a bad idea. The girl clung tightly to my chest while I slowly floated toward the massive stone structure in front of us.
The King’s castle.
From a distance it didn’t look that impressive compared to some of the crazy buildings I’d seen across the galaxy. But once you got closer, the craftsmanship started showing. Thick stone walls, engraved pillars, massive iron gates... the kind of place that screamed dwarven pride.
Aurelia had also changed clothes before we came here. Instead of the more revealing stuff she wore earlier, she now had on something far more covered. Long sleeves, layered fabric, and a thick skirt that probably weighed more than she did.
Guess meeting your dad required a different dress code.
"Relax," I told her while we slowly descended.
"I am relaxed," she replied.
Her grip tightened even more.
Right...
We gently landed inside the castle courtyard.
The moment our feet touched the ground, the reaction was immediate.
"INTRUDERS!"
Clang!
A bunch of guards rushed in from different directions almost instantly. Axes, hammers, swords... dwarves really loved heavy weapons. Within seconds we were surrounded by at least twenty heavily armored guards.
Holy shit. These guys moved fast.
Several weapons pointed straight at me while others stepped forward cautiously. Their eyes kept shifting between me and Aurelia.
Then one of them suddenly froze.
"Princess?"
The others paused. A few of them leaned forward, squinting at her face.
Then almost all of them lowered their weapons at once and bowed.
"Princess Aurelia!"
Well, that escalated quickly.
Aurelia stepped forward slightly, still standing close to me.
"I want to meet my father," she said calmly.
The guards immediately straightened.
"Of course, Princess," one of them replied.
Their reactions were respectful, but I could still see the suspicion written all over their faces. Every few seconds one of them would glance at me like they were trying to figure out if I was some kind of kidnapper.
Honestly, fair assumption.
One of the guards cleared his throat.
"We will escort you to His Majesty."
His eyes shifted toward me again.
"Both of you."
None of them asked who I was. But they definitely wanted to.
Still, none of them dared question Aurelia directly. That probably saved me a long explanation right there in the courtyard.
So we started walking.
The castle interior looked exactly how you’d imagine a dwarven palace. Everything was stone, thick beams, and ridiculously solid construction. The hallways were wider than I expected though, probably built to accommodate heavy armor and oversized weapons.
Glowing crystals lit the walls, and various servants and guards moved around doing their jobs.
Every single one of them stopped when they saw Aurelia.
Some bowed. Some stared. And almost all of them glanced at me.
Yeah... I was definitely the weird part of this situation.
One of the guards walking ahead eventually stopped in front of a large Zlatherium door.
"This is the audience chamber."
He knocked.
A voice came from inside.
"Enter."
One guard stepped in while the rest of us waited outside.
Aurelia stood quietly beside me.
Her hands were clasped together now, and she kept shifting her weight slightly.
"Are you nervous?" I asked quietly.
"No," she said immediately.
Then after a short pause she added,
"Maybe a little."
Fair enough.
A few moments later the guard returned and opened the door wider.
"His Majesty will see you."
Alright then.
We stepped inside. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The audience chamber was bigger than I expected, though still built with dwarven proportions in mind. The ceilings weren’t extremely high, but everything else was thick and sturdy.
At the far end of the room sat the King.
King Monrok.
I’d heard about him before, but this was my first time seeing him in person.
He sat on a throne carved entirely from stone. I start to think he’s not a minimalist but someone who doesn’t like technology for himself.
And honestly...
His throne looks like a toddler’s throne.
Not because it was poorly made or anything. The craftsmanship was incredible. Intricate carvings ran along every edge, and the back of the throne was decorated with dwarven runes.
But compared to the giant thrones used by human or vampire kings...
Yeah, this thing looked small.
Then again, dwarves were small too.
King Monrok himself had a full grey beard that reached down to his chest. His hair matched the color and was tied neatly into a ponytail behind his head. Two earrings dangled from his ears, catching the light from the torches.
Despite the beard and age, he didn’t look weak at all. His posture was straight, his shoulders broad, and his eyes were sharp.
The man looked like he could still swing an axe if he wanted to.
Aurelia immediately bowed.
I followed her lead and bowed too.
"My daughter," King Monrok said.
His voice was deep and steady.
But the moment he spoke those words, I noticed something. There was obvious happiness in his tone. Yeah... the guy was clearly glad to see her.
"What brings you here?" he asked.
Aurelia straightened and looked at him directly.
"I came to tell you something important, Father."
The King leaned slightly forward.
"Oh?"
Aurelia then did something that made every guard in the room tense slightly.
She grabbed my arm.
"This man is my lover," she said.
Straight to the point.
"And I wish to marry him."
Silence filled the room.
Every guard in the chamber slowly turned their heads toward me.
Some looked shocked. Some looked confused. And a few looked like they were trying really hard not to react.
King Monrok didn’t say anything immediately.
Instead, he just stared at me.
His eyes slowly moved from my face to my shoulders, then down to my hands, and back up again. It was the kind of look a father gave when trying to evaluate the man standing next to his daughter.
I kept my face neutral the entire time.
After what felt like a solid thirty seconds, the King finally spoke.
"Who are you?"
Simple question.
I stepped forward slightly.
"My name is Jake Mystro," I said.
The room stayed quiet. Then I added the rest.
"The crown prince of Vampiro."
The reaction was instant.
King Monrok’s eyes widened.
Then he stood up from his throne.
Not slowly.
Immediately.
The guards around the room stiffened in surprise.
A dwarf king standing up wasn’t exactly a small gesture.
King Monrok stared at me again, but this time his expression had completely changed.
Recognition. Respect. And maybe even a little shock.
Then he nodded once.
"Well then," he said.
His voice had become noticeably more formal.
"Please... sit."
He gestured toward the seats arranged near the throne.
Aurelia glanced at me, clearly relieved that things hadn’t exploded yet.
I nodded slightly and followed her toward the chairs.
