I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 420: Clash in Highrule Pt.3
Chapter 420: Clash in Highrule Pt.3
Zaryx didn’t seem like he was losing. Logan noticed the demon’s confidence—he stood unafraid even while facing Logan in his dragon state. What puzzled him was where that confidence came from. Zaryx’s army was being surrounded. His allies, the beetles, were being slaughtered by the second. And Logan’s own army of monsters, gathered from Highrule, was closing in.
Elarion the Aetherlight Unicorn had arrived, accompanied by Luna, Inox the Centaur, and several others of his race. Murk, the massive and highly toxic slime, was here too, as well as Lucent, the great tiger. Even Scorch’s underlings—now evolved into a Primordial Tarbosaurus and his wife, a Prima Tyrannosaurus Rex—had joined the fray. Along with so many others, they poured onto the battlefield.
There was nothing the demons or beetles could do. They were surrounded by nearly a thousand powerful creatures, and they were fighting against Logan’s best.
Even Gaia, who had been unable to move because Ramos the ferret was roaming freely, now stomped about—his colossal frame giving rise to massive roots that tore demons apart like ragdolls.
"Tell me what makes you so confident right now," Logan sneered. "You’re about to be crushed from all sides."
The voice that came from his merged form was powerful enough to blow away several beetles that stood before him.
"I... will not fall here, hero. My allies might, but even then—we’ve already accomplished what we came for," Zaryx growled. "We tested your army. Measured it. Judged how much effort we must dedicate to you. This is only the beginning."
He laughed darkly, even as his body began to change—mutating, as if absorbing the very essence of the Mutation Stone.
"We generals have sharpened our blades. So allow me to show you what I’m truly capable of, hero. I’ve been personally invested in seeing you reach your peak."
Zaryx’s grin widened, even as his form twisted grotesquely.
"You and I... we will fight again. After today. And I hope that when the time comes, you’ll be strong enough to surprise me."
Suddenly, Zaryx began pulling in the creatures around him—goblins, wargs, wolves, demons, and even beetles were devoured by his growing power. His dark, light-toned skin shifted into a sickly shade of purple as the bodies he absorbed were used to further empower him.
Logan couldn’t just stand by and watch. He used Silis’s magic to raise a massive pillar beneath Zaryx, lifting the demon into the air before he could consume more of Logan’s creatures. Then, drilling through the ground, Logan moved closer—but something felt wrong. The nearer he got, the more his energy was being drained.
He halted his approach and retreated just enough to construct a large fortress of earth between them.
[Retreat for now. I need time to come up with a plan—one suited for this particular enemy,] Logan ordered through the link.
He could feel his creatures begin to fall back, fighting defensively at the edges of the battlefield.
[What will you do, Logan? He’s the most dangerous one among them,] Lisa’s voice reached him, steady despite the chaos. She had shifted from warrior to healer, doing her best to protect those still near the queen beetle.
[Honestly? I don’t know. But Silis will be more useful aiding the others... for now,] Logan replied.
He emerged from the ground nearly a hundred meters away, his mind already racing. He needed a plan—and fast.
That was when one of his creatures approached him.
And with it came the idea he needed.

[Skills:]
Toxic Miasma (Rank: Advanced):
Passively emits a heavy, poisonous aura that lowers enemy morale, poisons organic targets, and disrupts concentration and magical flow. Aura strength triples in enclosed or corrupted environments.
Stench Burst:
Releases a burst of foul gas and decomposing spores, causing nausea, blurred vision, and mana dissonance. Can interrupt spellcasting and scatter formations.
Sludge Grasp:
Extends multiple corrupted tendrils to ensnare enemies. Causes silencing, corrosion, and slows. Can now target up to five enemies simultaneously.
Void Absorption (Rank: Advanced):
Consumes dark, demonic, or corrupted energy to restore health and mana. Efficiency is doubled in dungeons and triples if the source is demonic. Overconsumption grants temporary stat boosts.
Putrid Dispersion:
Spreads a thick fog of tainted mana and rot. Reduces the healing effectiveness of enemies and weakens magical defense. Can debuff enemy Constitution and Intelligence temporarily.
Filth Clone (Rank: Advanced):
Creates up to two unstable duplicates. Each clone mimics Murk’s basic actions and explodes after 30 seconds, spreading acidic slime, mana-rotting spores, and confusion effects.
Black Rot Devour (New):
Murk lashes out with a massive maw formed from its core. On hit, devours part of the enemy’s mana or stamina. Absorbed energy can be redistributed to Logan’s allies or used to instantly recharge one Filth Clone.
Festering Womb (New):
Generates small spawnlings during combat from consumed biomass. These slime offspring chase enemies and detonate on contact, dealing damage scaled with Murk’s Constitution. Limit: 6 active spawnlings.
Contagion Sovereignty (New – Passive):
Grants Murk the ability to override or convert lesser corrupted creatures within range (5m per level of Int). Creatures below Murk’s level may defect or be forced into temporary servitude if Logan is nearby.
Blighted Core Bloom (Ultimate):
Murk detonates a piece of its body into a mana-infested core, causing an environmental corruption zone (radius: 30 meters) for 45 seconds. Within this area, enemies suffer increasing poison and mana decay per second. Allies gain minor healing, dark resistance, and increased regeneration. Can only be used once per battle.

Yup. He was thinking of countering a blob demon with a blob monster—the perfect choice. Which of the two slime-infested mutations would win, he didn’t know, but he had high hopes for his own creature. Murk had one of the highest HP pools in his entire arsenal.
"Murk, I hate to say this, but we’ll need to fight together, buddy," Logan said as he approached the creature, who jiggled at his words.
It seemed to have already noticed what Silis and Logan had done and was anticipating the shift.
"Well... here goes nothing."
Logan could already smell the stench, but instead of pulling back, he reached out and touched the blob. His hand sank into it as he activated Soul Morph, his flesh and bone quickly transforming, becoming slimy as his body began to melt into the dark sludge.
Within seconds, he lost his humanoid form and instead became a round, black, glistening slime.
He tried to move forward but failed at first. His body stretched, wobbling in place—he had no feet to walk.
[Damn it. I have to learn how to move all over again? Murk, how do you control this?] Logan asked, his consciousness still in partial control of the body.
Unlike Silis or Voltar, who needed to take control of limbs to move, Murk’s structure allowed for something different. It had no limbs, yet it could shift, ripple, and propel itself by distributing motion across its entire body. Somehow, it could control parts of the form while Logan controlled the other.
[Nice, Murk. I felt that—we moved a few meters. Now let’s go. We need to take care of that demon before it absorbs more of our friends.]
Murk took charge of mobility while Logan focused on adapting. He slowly began forming small tendrils—tentacles that moved like arms, each one twitching and responding a little more accurately with every passing second.
He was getting better at it. And they were moving.
It wasn’t long before Murk and Logan began moving faster together. Logan focused on forming hands as best he could—something Murk had never done before, having never needed such complex limbs.
It only made what Kryst had accomplished all the more impressive—she had created a full humanoid body during her second evolution, all on her own.
[There. I can make a few hands now... how about we try making feet? We need to walk faster.]
Logan liked Voltar’s method of combat—using four legs gave better balance and speed. If he could replicate that with Murk’s body, it would be a game-changer.
[Okay, that’s two down... but we still need two more. And they need to be thicker—we have to support this body’s bulk.]
His words were received and processed by Murk, who eagerly followed the instructions. The creature began replicating what Logan had already shaped, forming a second pair of legs. In his enthusiasm, Murk even added an extra set—six limbs now supported the large, gooey form, almost as if hoping Logan would praise the effort.
[Well, I only wanted four... but I guess it does help distribute the weight of this huge body, nice job. And we did make six hands too... Just how strange do we look to everyone else?]
Logan chuckled to himself, amused by their grotesque but functional creation.
He was nearly upon Zaryx now. The demon had almost finished condensing everything he had devoured. His body now resembled a bulked-up, monstrous version of his usual form—larger, heavier, more distorted.
"I see you can do something similar to me," Zaryx said with a sneer. "Perfect. Now let’s see who wins this... try your best."
