I Was The Only Omega In The Beast World-Chapter 94: CP: Family Reunion
Two Days Later:
The third dawn after the bonding broke gray and restless over Tidehome.
Alex woke to the familiar sensation of being flanked by mates—Naga coiled protectively to his left, Zale’s cooler presence to his right where the mer-prince maintained contact even in sleep, one hand resting on Alex’s hip.
The mate marks burned with triple warmth now.
The serpent on his left wrist—Naga’s five stars blazing emerald.
The lion on the back of his right shoulder—Leo’s five stars pulsing gold even in absence.
And the new mark on his left thigh—a stylized wave crowned with three stars, Zale’s mark, glowing with nascent three stars that Mira promised would strengthen to four or five as the bond matured.
Three mates.
It still felt surreal.

Alex pressed a hand to his belly, feeling the constant movement inside. The babies were running out of room—every shift and kick more pronounced now, more uncomfortable.
"You’re awake," Zale murmured, his eyes opening to reveal those glowing aqua irises. "How do you feel?"
"Heavy," Alex admitted. "Restless. Like something’s building."
Zale’s expression immediately sharpened with concern. "Building how? Contractions? Pressure?"
"Not contractions yet," Alex said. "Just... awareness. My body knows something’s coming soon."
Naga stirred on his other side, instantly alert.
"How soon?" he demanded.
"I don’t know," Alex said. "Mira said one to two more days. Maybe less if—"
The mate mark on his back suddenly flared brilliant gold.
Leo.
The bond surged with proximity, with desperate relief, with I’M HERE I’M FINALLY HERE.
Alex gasped, pressing his hand over the lion mark as sensation flooded through the connection.
"Leo," he breathed. "He’s here. He’s—he’s at the settlement edge. With Granite. They made it."
Naga was already moving, shifting to full serpent form. "I’ll bring them here."
"We both will," Zale said, sliding into the water.
"They’ll need guidance through the channels."
They vanished together—an unlikely pair, serpent and mer-prince, united in purpose.
Alex tried to stand, his body protesting every movement.
Kai was immediately there, supporting his weight.
"Easy," the young healer said. "Let them come to you. You’re not supposed to be—"
"I’m fine," Alex interrupted, even though he absolutely wasn’t. His back ached, his belly felt impossibly tight, and there was a low, persistent pressure that made every step uncomfortable.
But Leo was here.
Finally, finally here.
He made it to the chamber entrance just as three figures emerged from the main channel.
Leo in full lion form—bedraggled, covered in dried mud, his white mane matted with marsh debris, golden eyes wild and exhausted and desperately searching until they found Alex.
Then Leo shifted mid-stride, his humanoid form appearing even as momentum carried him forward, and suddenly Alex was being swept into strong arms, held so tight it almost hurt.
"You’re alive," Leo gasped against his hair. "You’re here. You’re—"
He pulled back, hands immediately going to Alex’s belly, feeling the babies kick in response to their father’s presence.
"They’re okay?" Leo demanded. "Truly okay?"
"They’re okay," Alex promised. "We’re okay."
Leo made a growl of relief, pressing his forehead against Alex’s.
Then his eyes tracked to the new mark on Alex’s lower back—visible where his loose leather skirt he had wrapped around because system’s pants felt tight on his body.
Leo went very still.
"You bonded," he said quietly. "To the mer-prince."
"Yes," Alex said, meeting his eyes steadily. "Two days ago. It was necessary. The energy deficit was—"
"I know," Leo interrupted. "Naga explained through the bond. I felt it when it happened—the new connection forming. I just..." He took a shaky breath. "I wanted to be here for it. I wanted to—"
"I know," Alex said gently. "But you’re here now. That’s what matters."
Behind them, Granite had shifted to humanoid form—looking even more exhausted than Leo, covered in mud up to his knees, but his hazel eyes were sharp as they took in the scene.
"Bearer," he greeted formally. "I’m relieved to see you well."
"Thank you for getting Leo here safely," Alex said sincerely.
Granite nodded once. "It was my honor."
His eyes shifted to Zale, who had surfaced nearby, and something complicated passed between them—alpha recognition, territorial assessment, grudging respect.
"Prince Zale," Granite said carefully. "I see you’ve... taken responsibility for the bearer’s protection."
"I have," Zale confirmed, his voice equally careful. "With his consent and the agreement of his first mate. The third bond was formed two nights ago."
Leo’s hands tightened slightly on Alex’s waist.
"Show me," he said quietly. "The mark." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Alex turned slightly, lifting his leather skirt enough to reveal the wave-and-coral design glowing softly on his lower back.
Leo stared at it for a long moment.
Then, carefully, he traced the design with one finger—and Alex felt the triple bond pulse: Naga’s emerald strength, Zale’s aqua steadiness, Leo’s golden warmth, all of them interconnecting like channels of a river flowing into the same ocean.
"Three stars," Leo observed.
"Well, it’s better than nothing," Leo said, and he actually sounded like he meant it. "Because I felt how much you were struggling. Even from the marsh, even through the distance, I felt you draining. If this—" He gestured to Zale. "—is what was needed to keep you alive, then I’m grateful for it."
Zale’s scales flushed with surprised relief.
"You’re... accepting this?" he asked carefully. "Just like that?"
"I’m accepting that my mate survived," Leo corrected. "I’m accepting that you helped when we couldn’t reach him. Whether I’m accepting YOU personally..." His golden eyes sharpened. "That remains to be seen."
"Fair enough," Zale said.
Naga had remained silent through the exchange, his serpent form coiled nearby, watching everything with unreadable eyes.
Now he shifted back to humanoid, slithering forward to join their small group.
"The three-bond is stable," he said to Leo. "I’ve been monitoring it constantly. No adverse effects, no rejection symptoms. Alex’s energy levels have improved significantly."
"But not enough," Leo said, reading between the lines.
"Not enough," Naga confirmed quietly. "Even with three of us providing constant support, he’s still running a deficit. The cubs are demanding more than we can collectively give."
"How long?" Leo asked.
"Mira estimates delivery within one to two days," Zale answered. "Maybe sooner. The preparation phase is accelerating."
Leo’s expression grew fierce with determination.
"Then we have one to two days to get him as stable as possible before it begins," he said. "What do we need to do?"
"Rest," Mira’s voice cut in as she surfaced in the main pool. "All of you. The bearer especially, but also you three. You can’t provide energy if you’re depleted yourselves."
She fixed Leo with a stern look.
"You just crossed treacherous marsh terrain for three days straight. You’re exhausted. Eat, sleep, recover your strength. THEN you can help."
"I’m fine—" Leo started.
"You’re about to collapse," Mira interrupted bluntly. "I can see it in your stance. When was the last time you ate properly? Slept more than a few hours? You’re running on fumes."
Leo looked like he wanted to argue.
But Granite placed a massive hand on his shoulder.
"She’s right," the bear said quietly. "You’re no good to Alex if you collapse. Rest now, so you can be strong when delivery actually begins."
Leo’s jaw clenched with frustration, but he nodded.
"Fine. But I’m not leaving this chamber."
"No one’s asking you to," Mira said. "There’s space for all of you here. Eat, rest, stay close. That’s the prescription for everyone."
She surfaced fully onto the platform, her silver scales gleaming.
"Now let me examine the bearer one more time," she said. "I want to check if Lion-Father’s arrival has affected the cubs’ timeline."
Alex allowed himself to be guided back to the sleeping platform—and the moment he lay down, the relief was overwhelming.
His back stopped screaming.
The pressure in his belly eased slightly.
The babies settled into calmer movement, as if they too recognized that their family was finally complete.
Leo settled on his right side, Naga on his left, and Zale remained nearby in the pool—all three of them maintaining physical contact, the mate bonds humming with shared energy.
Mira began her examination with practiced efficiency.
And as she worked, as Alex felt the steady presence of three mates surrounding him, he finally let himself believe it.
They were going to survive this.
