I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 160
Chapter 160: Chapter 160
"Oh right, can you give me the reward as an item?" I suddenly asked, my tone shifting to something more practical.
"Item?" he echoed, his brow furrowing in confusion.
"Yes, item," I nodded eagerly, my excitement bubbling up. I knew that Kairos had many precious and valuable items, and it felt time to claim something for myself.
"Understood. I will prepare your reward myself," he replied, his expression shifting from confusion to something more serious.
"Great! Then since I’m done with the mission, I’ll go back now. Have a nice day, Cross," I said, remembering the time I introduced him to my friends using that fake name. It was a joke turned inside joke, and somehow it felt fitting.
"Wait," His hand shot out to grab my sleeve before I could take off.
"...Yes?" I turned to look back at him, curiosity mingling with a hint of annoyance.
"Cross... That’s not my name," Kairos said, his eyes piercing into mine. "Call me boss instead."
In that instant, a cool breeze blew past them. My hair fluttered in the air as I stared into his eyes. After swallowing hard, I simply said, "no."
"Good— What?" Kairos, who was full of confidence, looked at me dumbfounded. "What do you mean?"
"Well, I still haven’t decided yet," I said with a grin, feeling a rush of mischief.
"...What do you mean by that?" he asked, his frown deepening, clearly thrown off by my rejection.
I wasn’t fazed in the slightest. In fact, I felt emboldened. "I still haven’t agreed to join your group, so... haha," I scratched my head, offering him a sheepish smile that contrasted with my daring words.

Meanwhile, at the Academy’s Training Facility.
"Let’s rest for a while," Christian announced, collapsing onto the floor, breathing hard. Rex, who had been sparring with him, plopped down on the floor in front of him, wiping a sweat from his brow.
Cypher, engrossed in his own training but not too far from the others, joined them by sitting down and grabbing a bottle of water. He took a long drink before shifting his gaze to Whitney, who was perched nearby, lost in thought with a serious expression on her face.
"Hey, Whitney, what are you doing? I even forced Rex to be your sparring partner!" Cypher called, breaking the silence.
"...." Whitney lifted her gaze to meet Cypher’s, her brow furrowing slightly before she replied, "I’m just thinking about something."
Currently, her mind was preoccupied with the events of the other day. What had Remillia been doing at the Nocturna Agency? Why was she with Stephen Colbert? And how did they know each other?
Whitney had her ears everywhere thanks to the guild she secretly made; she knew everything happening in every guild. When she heard that Nocturna Agency was seeking investors, she hadn’t hesitated to offer her support, recognizing the potential they have in the future. But the moment she extended her hand, Stephen had turned her down, claiming their needs were already met.
So why was Remillia there? Whitney can’t help but think that Remillia’s connected to the rising Agency. However, Remillia wasn’t just another hunter or employee, so what was her role? Could it be that she held the position of... CEO? Whitney quickly shook her head. No, Remillia wasn’t that kind of person.
"Huh? You sure it’s just ’something’ you’re thinking about? Looks a bit more complicated. Are you thinking about Edge again?" Cypher’s words jolted her from her thoughts. Whitney flinched, the name striking a nerve.
"What about him?" she asked, her tone sharper than intended.
"Uh, nothing, just wondering if you got rejected by Edge" Cypher replied casually although he was only thinking like that because he haven’t seen Edge with them.
Whitney clenched her teeth, a hot surge of frustration rising to the surface. Why did he have to bring that up? As if she wasn’t already annoyed enough since Edge had rejected her offer to spar together.
Whitney blurted out angrily. "Oh right, Cypher, I noticed that Remillia’s so cold towards you these days,"
"Right! Speaking of rejection," Whitney blurted out angrily, "I noticed that Remillia’s been kind of cold towards you these days."
"What? Where did you get that?" Cypher protested feebly, disbelief coloring his voice. "We’re close."
"Oh, is that so?" Angela chimed in, suddenly interested, her previous boredom vanishing.
Whitney shrugged, having fun in the opportunity to annoy Cypher. "Of course! She says she likes Ezekiel more now. You’ve already heard about the rumors, right? I mean, if I were her, I’d definitely prefer Ezekiel over Cypher."
"What? They aren’t even that close! What would she see in him?" The indignation in Cypher’s voice was palpable as he shot up from the floor, his hands balling into fists.
Whitney wasn’t intimidated; she continued to wear a bright smile, folding her arms. "I’m just saying. It’s not like it matters, right? You’re just friends, aren’t you?"
"...." Cypher fell silent, momentarily at a loss for words. Deep down, he knew the truth—Remillia did think of him as merely a friend.
"I’ll go to the training field. I need to enhance my sword skills more," Cypher said abruptly, feeling a mix of irritation and disappointment. He got up and exited the facility, making a beeline for the training grounds outside.
"W-wait!" Angela came chasing after him.

I left Kairos standing there, still in a daze from my response, as if he couldn’t quite process the fact that I had rejected to call him boss. I had even bid him goodbye, but it seemed he still hasn’t gotten over by my response. freēnovelkiss.com
Instead of going back to the hotel to pack my things, I walked into the vibrant streets of Caballeni, the city was still bright and noisy despite the clock striking midnight.
The intoxicating aroma of street food wafted through the air, and I couldn’t resist the urge to indulge.
"Macaron, what do you think?" I asked, glancing at my right which he was perched comfortably on my shoulder.
<Of course we should eat! We just did something amazing!> He hooted in excitement, flapping his wings as I spotted a food stall bursting with colorful treats.
We wandered from stall to stall, sampling everything from skewers of grilled meat to sweet pastries. Macaron’s enthusiasm was infectious; he was like a child, eating all kinds of food he could see.
I was already full but Macaron insisted on wanting more. I wanted to scold him, tell him to slow down, but then I remembered how well he had performed during the mission.
So, I decided to let him enjoy this moment. We, technically he kept eating, and as the night wore on, I bought one of everything we had sampled, tossing each food into my expansion pouch.
It was midnight at Caballeni but the streets are still bright so me and Macaron enjoyed eating street foods and even went to a carnival. I enjoyed the night and Macaron even insisted that he wants to take out everything he ate.
As the night drew to a close, I noticed that Macaron had grown quieter. When we finally decided to call it a night, I felt him nuzzle against my neck, succumbing to sleep right there on my shoulder. I chuckled softly, the warmth of his little body bringing me comfort. Without much hesitation, I lifted him into my arms, cradling him gently.
"Alright, sleepyhead, let’s get you home," I murmured, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me.
We headed back to the hotel, the streets of Caballeni still buzzing with noise around us despite the late hour. I wanted to savor the surroundings, but the thrill of exhaustion tugged at me. After reaching the hotel, I quickly made my way to my room, gathering my belongings without disturbing Macaron.
The portal station was a quick walk from the hotel. The light from the portals shimmered in the darkness, and the staffs checked my passportal before letting me stepped up to the platform. Macaron seemed to sense the shift in energy, his sleepy eyes flickering open with curiosity.
A moment later, I emerged in Aeonia, the surrounding was quiet with only the guards and staff around the station.
I then walked up to a nearby portal that would take me directly to the Academy. With another quick flash of magic, I stepped through, arriving at the Academy grounds.
I nodded at the portal staff who greeted me as I quickly found my way straight to my dorm room. As I slipped inside, I felt the warmth of the room embracing me like a blanket.
The moonlight streamed through the window, casting soft shadows across the floor. I quickly set down my bag and let out a small sigh of relief, closing the door softly behind me.
Macaron, still nestled in my arms, stirred slightly but didn’t wake. I chuckled softly, taking care to lay him gently on my bed. He nestled into the blanket and let out a sweet, contented hoot before settling back into slumber.
I tried to wake myself up as I still need to refrigerate the foods we bought at Caballeni. I sorted through the swarm of snacks I had packed, from skewered delights to pastries, arranging them neatly so I could put them in the fridge.
After I finished organizing the food, I treated myself to a quick shower, slipped into comfortable pajamas, and crawled into bed. My eyes felt heavy in an instant and I just wished that Macaron won’t eat all the foods again tomorrow.
