Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Nolan shuffled off to the bathroom, leaving Remillia to order room service for Nolan. Once he was gone, Remillia let out a deep breath and sat down on the couch.

When Nolan emerged from the bathroom, refreshed and clean, Remillia turned to him with a stern expression.

"You’re going to stay here until tomorrow. The trial will be held on Sunday." she said firmly.

"We can’t have you drawing attention to yourself in public. Arkus will know since his trial is near, he will destroy every evidence."

Nolan nodded gratefully.

"Thank you, Remillia. I won’t forget this favor. I’ll pay you back soon."

Remillia’s expression softened slightly. "Just stay safe and don’t try to do anything reckless until then," she said. "And remember, I didn’t do this for free. You owe me one."

Nolan’s eyes lit up with understanding. "I won’t forget," he promised. "And I’ll make sure to pay you back... eventually."

Remillia raised an eyebrow. "Eventually?"

Nolan chuckled wryly. "Yeah, well... I don’t have much money on me right now. But I’ll find a way to pay you back eventually."

Remillia knew that once Arkus is in jail, Nolan can finally be free from the outside world, he can work as a mercenary or anything.

After saying goodbye to Nolan, she went to the next room and locked the door.

She took a deep breath, her mind racing with all the details she needed to confirm. The trial was set for Sunday, and she needed to make sure everything was perfect.

She dialed Adrian’s number. "Mister, the trial will be on Sunday," she said, getting straight to the point.

"I need you here tomorrow to accompany Sir Nolan. I’ve found him already and he’s staying at a hotel in Monfort."

Adrian’s voice came through the line, calm and reassuring.

"Okay, got it. I’ll be there tomorrow."

Remillia nodded, even though Adrian couldn’t see her.

"Great, thank you. I’ll text you the location and room number."

She had just sent a text to Adrian with the location and room number of Nolan’s temporary residence.

With that taken care of, Remillia moved on to her next call. She dialed Professor Orion’s number, feeling a mix of annoyance and anticipation. The professor was notorious for his laid-back attitude, but Remillia knew he was also one of the best in his field.

"Professor Orion, are the autopsies done?"

She asked, trying to keep her tone professional.

The professor’s response was immediate, but it was tinged with annoyance.

"You just gave me 31 corpses, I think everything will be done tomorrow evening."

Remillia smiled slightly. She had expected as much.

"You should come on Sunday in Monfort Court House of Heroes," she said. "I’ve got a show for you."

Professor Orion’s response was brief and curt.

"Make sure it’s worth it."

Remillia ended the call, feeling a sense of satisfaction that everything was falling into place. The trial was going to be a major production, and she was determined to make it a success.

Remillia grabbed her laptop in the mystic maravilla, placed it on the table and sat in front of it, a wicked grin spreading across her face as she worked her way magic. She had been planning this move for a week, and now was the perfect time to strike.

She created a series of dummy accounts on social media and online forums, each one designed to look like a concerned citizen or a whistleblower. She spread rumors and information about Arkus Maguire, painting him as a villainous figure with a dark secret. She also included a very short clip where Arkus was about to stab Kaelith.

The first account she created was a fake news outlet, which published an article titled "Arkus Maguire: The Hero or the Hypocrite?" The article questioned whether Arkus truly deserved the statue and medal he had received for his heroic actions, suggesting that there might be more to the story than meets the eye.

Next, she created a series of anonymous posts on social media, each one asking questions like "Does Arkus Maguire really deserve our admiration?" and "Is he hiding something from us?" The posts were designed to look like they came from ordinary citizens who were genuinely concerned about the truth.

Remillia then created a series of memes and images, each one depicting Arkus in a compromising or suspicious situation. She shared them on social media, accompanied by hashtags like #ArkusTheHypocrite and #JusticeForTheVictims.

As the internet buzz began to spread, Remillia’s plan was already taking shape. People were starting to question Arkus’ integrity, and the once-respected hero was beginning to look like a villain in the eyes of many. Remillia smiled to herself as she watched the online drama unfold, knowing that she was just getting started.

She had always known that this would be a crucial part of her plan, but she had never imagined it would be this easy. The internet was a powerful tool, and Remillia was determined to use it to her advantage.

As she continued to spread her message, Remillia couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She was playing the game of manipulation like a pro, and it was only just the begining.

Arkus’ face was red with rage as he slammed his fist onto the desk, making the entire room shake. His right-hand man, Ryker, cowered in the corner, nursing his bruised face.

"Pay the publishing company and social medias to delete all rumors about me!" Arkus bellowed into the phone. "I don’t care what it takes, I want it done now!"

He paused for a moment, taking deep breaths to calm himself down. Then, he picked up the phone again and dialed a new number.

"Where are the results?" Arkus growled into the phone. "I didn’t pay you a f*cking million Glacium just to play around! Find me something, anything, on that girl!"

The man on the phone can only reply, "Y-yes, sir," he stuttered. "I’ll get right on it."

Ryker winced as Arkus’ anger turned on him.

Arkus gestured Ryker to come forward and when he approached, Ryker flinched as he felt the back of Arkus’ hand connect with his face. The sound of the slap echoed through the room.

"What about the assassins you’ve sent? Did they catch the girl already?"

"I still haven’t heard about them sir."

You’re f*bycking useless!" Arkus snarled. "Get me some results, or I’ll make sure you regret it."

Ryker nodded vigorously, rubbing his sore face.

"Y-yes, sir. I’ll get right on it."

He couldn’t help but think that this was all because of one person: Remillia. How did she know what happened that day? Who was she to ruin his reputation like this?

He thought back to that fateful day, replaying every moment in his mind. He had thought he was so careful, so thorough. But somehow, Remillia had managed to uncover the truth.

Arkus’ anger boiled over again as he thought about it. This was all because of one measly fucking b!tch! He would make her pay for this. Oh, yes. He would make her pay dearly.

As he sat there seething with rage, Arkus didn’t notice Ryker backing away slowly, afraid to approach him anymore. He didn’t notice the guards outside his door exchanging worried glances. All he could think about was getting revenge on Remillia.

It was Saturday afternoon. Remillia rubbed the sleep from her eyes, feeling a sense of satisfaction wash over her as she gazed at the screens in front of her. She had been up all night until morning, working tirelessly to ensure that her online campaign against Arkus Maguire continued to spread.

She had anticipated that he would try to silence her, and so she had taken precautions. She had set up multiple accounts on different platforms, using different IP addresses and encryption to protect her identity. She had also created a network of like-minded individuals who were willing to help her spread the truth about Arkus.

As she scrolled through the online forums and social media platforms, Remillia saw that her efforts had been successful. The hashtag #ArkusTheHypocrite was trending, with thousands of posts and comments calling out Arkus’ supposed hypocrisy.

She smiled to herself as she saw a post from a popular blogger with a username @kittystar96 who had written an exposé on Arkus’ supposed wrongdoings. The post was going viral, with thousands of shares and comments.

As she was having brunch, she checked her phone to see if she had received any messages and indeed there is.

It was from Mister Adriel and Professor Orion.

She read Mister Adriel’s text first. It was sent 10:46 AM.

{Remi, I’m here. I’ve already met Nolan and we have a lot of catching up to do.}

’Hmmm, this must be the first time of meeting each other since the dungeon incident.’

{Have a fun time catching up.}

Then she read Professor Orion’s text. It was only sent 10 minutes ago.

{The autopsies are done. I also did a little digging about them and it seems like they are all related to one person, Arkus Maguire. Tell me, does this play of yours include him?}

’As expected of Professor.’

I replied him back.

{Let’s meet at Stellar Bucks in about 20 minutes.}

{Alright.}

She got up and went to shower.
