I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 34: The Truth
Chapter 34: The Truth
Vampire!
A terminology used for the creatures of the Dead...
The creatures who prefer to move during Unholy Hours...
Everyone knows that Vampires do not exist.
They are but fictional characters, meant to frighten the weak hearted and children.
The crimson forest was bathed in an eerie, blood-red glow.
And adding to its menace, was the darkened reddish moonlight filtered through the twisted, gnarled branches that seemed to claw at the heavens themselves.
How can there be moonlight underground? This mystery was even more unfathomable as the creature before the group.
"Well, would you look’ah that."
Shugo crouched down in observation, shivers of panic waving through him like a storm.
The air was thick with an oppressive silence, broken only by the faint rustling of leaves from the stagnant wind.
It was suffocating—The atmosphere.
Their breaths were now visible in the strangely cold air. And amidst the suffocation, Levon, Artilla, and Shugo, felt their bodies turn frozen.
For before them, loomed a nightmare made of flesh— a vampire.
’Its so ugly.’
Levon scrunched his face in disgust.
Its form was grotesque yet hypnotic.
Without another thought, the trio jumped several feet back, reaching for any objects they could turn into weapons.
Stones, sharpened twigs—what around them can they use?
.
.
"Naive, naive, little humans" It chuckled amusingly, elongating its fingernails to an impressive length.
What was even more impressive, was that as it stepped forward, it’s movement unnerved the lake’s waters.
It, the vampire, now walked and floated on the water’s surface, while the deer it bit off from, sank deeper and deeper below.
Fumfumfumfumfum~
Its guttural laughter carried a sense of forbearing in their hearts.
"Bold humans, don’t you know the legends about my kind?"
~SWOOSH!
Everything happened in a blur.
However, Artilla looked down, to see blood stains on her belly. And looking up again, the vampire had already appeared in the distance, with his claws now dripping of blood.
"So good.... So good..."
Human blood sure was the best.
It closed its ’eye’, enjoying its dish with relish.
Normally, a slice from it will change any human completely.
But since these humans are its food, it can’t very well taint their precious human DNA, can it?
Doing so will only make his feast sour.
.
.
"Blood... Blood... Such good blood..."
As it spoke, its voice changed greatly, sounding like nails screeching on a chalkboard.
"It’s the best! The best! The BEST!"
How long has it been since it tasted sweet divine human blood?
Levon’s eyes jerked. ’Is this guy getting high on blood?’
The creature was going Berserk just from this little taste of human blood alone.
Then, it began transformation
Brac!~
Bones cracked and reformed with sickening snaps, as its spine arching backward, growing taller and more monstrous.
Its fangs tripled in size, gleaming like polished ivory daggers in this dimly lit crimson forest.
The air grew colder as its transformation reached its peak.
The creature now stood nearly 8 feet tall, its yellow-greenish eyes now changed to crimson.
But just then—
"More, more, more! I must have more!"
"No! No!... Everyone, get away from me!"
"Damn you, you worthless thing! I’ll kill them all, and there’s nothing you can do about it!"
"Everyone, RUN!"
There were dual voices overlapping in chilling harmony from the creature.
What was this development?
Levon, Shugo, and the injured Artilla watched speechlessly.
With its hands on its face, it screamed and moved its neck around, somewhat very out of control.
Is it battling with itself?
"Wait, look at its face again!"
"Yeah... I see it."
One side of its face had its eye closed and its lips normal
As for the other side, it was the one doing the majority of the talking since they came here.
"Are they supposed to act this way?"
"I’m not sure, but I think part of it is still human." Levon thinned her lips. "However, this may very well be our last chance!"
Although their opponent was superhuman and terrifying, they still had one goal in mind: ATTACK!
Seizing the chance during its internal struggle, the trio struck hard with all their might.
BAM!
Artilla’s bladed fan embedded its teeth into its left shoulder, while Shugo’s poisonous strikes aimed at the, and Levon delivered a brutal blow to its head.
creature’s human side.
Will it work? They didn’t know. However, they had a sardonic glint in their eyes, a glint of addiction when battling against the supernatural.
’It’s not battle conscious.’
It had all the advantages, but was filled and driven just by arrogance and ego.
Right from the start, it attacked in flashy moves, and showed no true skill except for its supernatural potential.
How disappointing.
Levon’s eyes grew dull, despite the ferocity brewing on the enemy’s face.
"WORTHLESS HUMANS, How dare you attack this one?...Go to sleep."
Its human side was forced back into a deep slumber, as it faced Levon’s group with a vindictive aura.
"Die!!!"
in a blur motion, it appeared several feet high above Artilla, it widened its mouth and prepared to go in for a bite.
How predictable.
Levon and Shugo appeared again, plunging several sharp wooden objects into its flesh.
GRAAAAA~
It releases Artilla, sending its long limbs towards its back to remove the objects twisting in its insides.
"You’ll pay for that!"
.
.
~Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!
The battle raged on amidst splashing water and flying debris.
It was incredible that despite their injuries and exhaustion, they were able to press on with determination.
They plunged a wooden stake to its heart, watchin it make a big splash into the pond.
But just when they thought they had vanquished the creature, it rose again from the waters like a demon reborn.
"SON OF A FISH!"
Shugo cursed to the skies, color now draining from his face. "Why wont you just DIE?"
Right there before his naked eyeballs, he watched its wounds knit back together in the blink of an eye.
Roud was right, they were too weak.
Levon, Shugo, and Artilla unsteadily rose up from their rest, already feeling their bodies too tired to continue any further.
’Is this the end?’
Their eyes faltered, growing heavier by the second.
However, the last thing they recalled was the vampire’s face appearing inches from theirs.
But then... just when they felt they too would get bitten, a strange blue surge flew out like lightning.
What happened next?
Levon’s vision blurred, too dead tired to know. And as his consciousness faded into the darkness, one thought still lingered in his mind:
question still lurked in his mind, despite his unconsciousness:
Vampires... A mysterious place where all sorts of animals exist, run by an even more mysterious organization...
Just what sort of world was he sent into?
