If You Could Hear My Heart-Chapter 1675: The Way You Smile Is Stunningly Beautiful (7)
His gaze lingered on her face for a long time before Wen Zhiyuan curled his lips: "No need to pin it, just like this."
"Okay." Shen Di smiled brightly.
"Come here." Wen Zhiyuan beckoned to her.
"Hmm?"
Wen Zhiyuan pulled her to his side and opened the necklace: "Let me put the necklace on you, and once it’s on, don’t take it off again."
Shen Di intended to refuse, but Wen Zhiyuan had already embraced her, carefully examining the back of her neck.
His warm, delicate breath fell on her neck, causing Shen Di’s face to flush, yet her heart felt an unusual sensation.
"All done." Wen Zhiyuan fastened the necklace for her.
Shen Di looked down at the dazzling sapphire on the necklace, which appeared gentle and exquisite under the light, perfectly matching her dress.
Using the excuse of looking for a mirror, Shen Di distanced herself from Wen Zhiyuan.
Her heart thumped uncontrollably; she feared if she got too close to him again, it might just leap out.
In front of the mirror, she lightly adjusted her hair.
The necklace was truly beautiful, far more so than her previous one.
Turning her head, she saw Wen Zhiyuan leaning against the wall, standing quietly, with a smile on his face.
"I have good taste, don’t you think?" Wen Zhiyuan asked.
"You’ve already praised yourself plenty today!" Shen Di laughed.
"One birthday a year, today’s my day, so I have the privilege to do whatever without being judged, right?"
"Who says that? If you get more narcissistic, I might just start judging you."
After saying this, Shen Di realized it sounded like playful banter between a couple.
She pretended to lower her head and turned towards the makeup room.
Originally, he wanted to follow her when she went to do her makeup, but Shen Di shut him outside.
Wen Zhiyuan helplessly waited outside for her.
Because Shen Di’s health wasn’t great, the organizers usually scheduled her performance early so she could leave right after.
This time, however, Gu Luoluo’s performance was scheduled just before Shen Di’s.
But as Gu Luoluo was about to go on stage, her voice came from backstage: "Feng, Feng, my stomach hurts a lot."
Ling Feng happened to be with her and panicked, "What’s wrong? What’s wrong? Do you need to go to the hospital?"
"No, I can’t go to the hospital. It’s almost my turn, I can’t let people laugh at me."
"But your stomach hurts so much, can you really go on?"
"Who do you think Gu Luoluo is!" Gu Luoluo gritted her teeth and forced herself to stand up.
Wen Zhiyuan glanced at them, not paying much attention, quietly chatting with Shen Di.
There were a lot of people backstage, and soon a staff member brought Gu Luoluo hot water and painkillers.
"Was Gu Luoluo’s stomachache your doing?" Shen Di suddenly asked Wen Zhiyuan in a low voice.
Wen Zhiyuan replied nonchalantly: "Ever heard that saying, ’What goes around comes around’..."
Shen Di laughed: "Sometimes I think you’re pretty cheeky too."
"..." Wen Zhiyuan looked up at the sky speechless.
Gu Luoluo still forced herself onto the stage. She originally wanted to wear the light blue dress she took from Shen Di, but seeing Shen Di later bought a new one that completely outshone hers, she discarded it.
In the end, she chose a white dress.
On stage, Gu Luoluo presented herself gracefully, smiling slightly at the audience, though she couldn’t conceal her abdominal discomfort.
"Is she always trying to outdo you?" Wen Zhiyuan asked Shen Di backstage.
"I don’t care anymore."
"You shouldn’t ignore it, she’s obviously quite concerned with you."
Shen Di furrowed her brows, clearly unwilling to discuss past events.
She might have been naive before, but not anymore. Having experienced so much, she still couldn’t read people’s hearts.
Gu Luoluo’s abdominal pain intensified as she played the violin.
Just after a minute into her performance, her hand suddenly weakened, and she collapsed on stage.
"Ah!" The audience burst into chaos.
Backstage, Wen Zhiyuan and Shen Di sat side by side, indifferent.
The staff, however, were anxious and quickly took Gu Luoluo down, temporarily replacing her with a pianist.
"You’re up next," Wen Zhiyuan said to Shen Di.
"What did you give her? Will it harm her?" Shen Di curiously asked.
"I’m a healer, not a harmer. Remember to smile when you’re on stage; your smile lights up the world." Wen Zhiyuan encouraged her.
Wen Zhiyuan’s words always warmed Shen Di’s heart. She wondered if he was genuinely telling the truth or just trying to make her happy.
Nevertheless, Shen Di took his advice and smiled slightly as she went on stage.
She wasn’t one to smile often; even when she did, it usually felt forced.
Wen Zhiyuan watched her from backstage, his gaze full of affection.
It’s been a year since he last saw her concert, and finally, they got acquainted.
A year passed, yet she hadn’t changed much; still so graceful and gentle.
His eyes never left her from the moment she stepped on stage until the performance ended; he only watched her.
Gu Luoluo was quickly taken to the hospital, and Ling Feng hurriedly followed.
This summer scenery was exceptionally beautiful, all because of her.
It was already noon when they left the venue.
Wen Zhiyuan drove her back to the villa; Butler Xie had already prepared lunch.
Shen Di was in a good mood and said with a smile, "Butler, I performed well today. The piece I couldn’t master last time went surprisingly well today."
Butler Xie looked at Shen Di with a cheerful smile: "I always had faith in you, Miss."
"I’m taking Adi to the hospital this afternoon, so we won’t be back for dinner." Wen Zhiyuan said.
Shen Di glanced at him. He hadn’t consulted her.
But soon, Wen Zhiyuan returned a look that meant "It’s my birthday today, remember? You said you’d listen to me."
"Okay, Dr. Wen, take good care of Miss."
"Mm."
While Shen Di was eating, Wen Zhiyuan made a call to a colleague at the hospital.
"Did a woman named Gu Luoluo just come to the hospital?"
"Yes, Wen Zhiyuan, how did you know? She’s not your girlfriend, is she?"
"Cut it out!" Wen Zhiyuan said, "Did you examine her?"
"Jason diagnosed her and said there’s nothing wrong. But she doesn’t believe it, insists Jason is clueless, and wants a different doctor."
"That’s simple, just do as I say."
Wen Zhiyuan then whispered instructions to him.
After he finished, his colleague laughed: "Do you have a vendetta with this Gu Luoluo or something?"
"You won’t help me?" Wen Zhiyuan raised an eyebrow.
"It’s so unprofessional."
"Is it really? I don’t think so, haha." Wen Zhiyuan laughed.
"This woman keeps making a fuss, but I think scaring her a bit might make her behave."
"Exactly."
