Chapter 1737: Chapter 1737: Forcing Her Out with Nothing (Part 2)

Xiaomo still arrived late, Xu Chaomu’s hand was already scalded red.

Xu Chaomu quickly wiped the coffee clean and looked at her hand with concern.

"Sister Chaomu, are you okay?" Xiaomo asked cautiously.

Xu Chaomu shook her head: "It’s fine, you go ahead and get busy."

Seeing that her hand hadn’t blistered, she went to the restroom to soak it in cold water for a bit.

Her hand did hurt quite a bit, but she was no longer the little girl she once was; this pain was nothing.

What really upset her was Shen Chi’s attitude; she was in a fairly decent mood this morning, but then Shen Chi’s phone call just set her off.

The more she thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. Lately, Shen Chi had been traveling on business way too often.

She had never questioned his work before, but the way he lost his temper with her just made her unhappy.

Her hand was already red, but fortunately, there was no serious issue, no need to go to the hospital.

After dealing with it, she returned to her seat.

Upon turning on the computer, Xu Chaomu noticed that the person named "FreedomFly" had sent her several photos again.

Curious, she clicked them open, only to find they were all photos of Shen Chi with another woman.

Xu Chaomu’s heart skipped a beat, and she enlarged the photos for a closer look.

One could faintly see the landmark buildings of T City, and Xu Chaomu froze, speechless for a long time...

It was unclear how much time had passed before Xu Chaomu snapped back to reality and silently closed the photos.

Her heart felt as if it were pierced by needles, leaving her feeling complicated inside.

Thinking of the phone call from the morning and Shen Chi’s displeased tone, her nose stung.

She didn’t know who this "FreedomFly" was, but she could tell that the photos sent to her these two times didn’t seem to be doctored.

She quickly grabbed the documents on the table to start working, to stop herself from overthinking.

These photos didn’t necessarily mean anything; Shen Chi had many social engagements, and it was inevitable he would drink with women.

Xiaomo brewed another cup of coffee for Xu Chaomu and saw her staring blankly at the files when she walked in.

"Sister Chaomu..." Xiaomo approached her cautiously.

"Oh." Xu Chaomu looked up and snapped back. "What’s up?"

"I made you a fresh cup of coffee."

"Great, thank you."

Just then, Tan Cong came over. He noticed Xu Chaomu didn’t seem quite right and asked with concern, "Sister Chaomu, not feeling well today?"

Xu Chaomu shook her head: "No, I got my hand burned with coffee, that’s it."

"Is it bad? Do you need me to take you to the hospital?" Tan Cong asked anxiously.

Xu Chaomu laughed: "No, no, you guys worry too much."

"Sister Chaomu, maybe you can come watch our shoot." Xiaomo suggested, "Take a break."

"Sure." Xu Chaomu agreed.

She followed Xiaomo and Tan Cong to the photo studio, where Director Yang was already there, and Tan Cong quickly went to change clothes.

Xu Chaomu sat on a chair, watching them take photos.

When Tan Cong smiled, he perfectly displayed the aura of a college student.

Xu Chaomu found it quite pleasing to watch him shoot.

Somehow, it reminded her of Shen Chi from years ago.

As a kid, she was Shen Chi’s little sidekick, picking up the basketball while he played.

Back then, Shen Chi also had his youthful energy, but after taking over the group, he gradually became mature.

As a young girl, like others, she loved seeing her crush in a white shirt.

However, in those days, everything Shen Chi wore looked good on him, sometimes elegant and gentle, sometimes domineering and cold.

But thinking of his attitude this morning, along with those photos, Xu Chaomu couldn’t help but get distracted again.

"Sister Chaomu, Sister Chaomu!" Xiaomo called.

"Huh?" Xu Chaomu snapped back. "What is it?"

"How about the angle from just now? Do you have any suggestions regarding the model’s expression or pose?" Director Yang asked.

Xu Chaomu had hardly been watching carefully, she nodded: "It’s good, keep shooting."

Saying this, she smiled at Tan Cong.

Tan Cong smiled back and made an "OK" gesture.

The day went smoothly, and by midday, Xu Chaomu even took everyone to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

However, Tan Cong noticed Xu Chaomu seemed off the entire day.

"Sister Chaomu, something on your mind?" Tan Cong asked.

Of course, Xu Chaomu wouldn’t say anything; she shook her head: "No, really no."

Tan Cong understood and didn’t press further.

The whole day, Shen Chi didn’t call her again.

In the afternoon, Xu Chaomu picked up her phone.

She thought she was shameless for considering calling him again despite his impatient tone earlier.

However, to her disappointment, he had turned off his phone.

Or maybe, he blocked her.

Xu Chaomu didn’t pursue it further and tossed the phone aside.

Although she hadn’t been in the mood to work all day, burying herself in work made the time pass rather quickly.

"Sister Chaomu, are you working late again today?" Xiaomo asked upon seeing the light in Xu Chaomu’s office still on at night.

"Just have a bit of work left, go ahead," Xu Chaomu smiled faintly.

"Okay, I’ll head out now. Don’t stay too late, Xiaobao and Erbao will miss you." Xiaomo left with a smile.

The office lights were very bright, in stark contrast to the darkness outside.

The studio gradually emptied out, and it soon became quiet.

Xu Chaomu’s office was particularly quiet, and even as she worked, she could hear the wind outside.

When she got tired, Xu Chaomu would go get some hot water.

Looking up, she saw Tan Cong tidying up his space.

"You’re still not gone?" Xu Chaomu opened the window and shouted up to him.

Tan Cong laughed: "Sister Chaomu, you’re here so late, I’ll keep you company."

Xu Chaomu felt a bit in a daze; Tan Cong’s smile reminded her of the youthful Shen Chi, handsome and vibrant.

"No need, you can go home; I’m used to working late." Xu Chaomu waved him off.

"Everyone’s left; if you find me noisy, I’ll just sit here quietly. I’m reading a book anyway." Saying this, Tan Cong raised the book in his hand.

"Aren’t you hungry?"

"Not hungry. Sister Chaomu, are you? If you are, I’ll go get us dinner."

"Alright, you go, thank you."

"No problem." Tan Cong said as he ran out.

Watching his casual running silhouette, Xu Chaomu thought of Shen Chi again.

She thought she must be crazy; that man cherished her but was temperamental; what was there to miss?

And then she thought about how he took away her car the last time.

How could she be so forgetful, she drove that same car here today.

So, she called out to Tan Cong, who had just run downstairs: "Hey, Tan Cong, no need to go out; wait for me, I’m coming down."

Tan Cong heard her and nodded with a smile: "Alright!"
