I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law-Chapter 106: FIRST COUPLE’S FIGHT
ADMITTEDLY, An Baekya snitched on Bae Wonyoung because he was a little pissed at what Yun Dujun did.
But that doesn’t mean I want them to break up.
He just wanted Bae Wonyoung to stop Yun Dujun from looking for his uncle.
"Baekya, is your uncle someone that we can trust?" Bae Wonyoung asked carefully. "Is he a good person?"
I guess I have no choice but to be honest this time.
"Appa, I actually have a kind uncle."
Bae Wonyoung gasped, obviously shocked. "I don’t remember that part of the story."
No surprise there.
After all, An Baekya made sure that the System would keep the existence of his uncle a secret from Bae Wonyoung.
Yes, his uncle’s existence was purposely erased from the ’novel.’
Because, if Appa knew about my uncle’s existence, then he would have found him for me instead of raising me by himself.
"I guess it’s because I skipped a lot of things when I was reading the novel," Bae Wonyoung said. "So, right now, do you know where your uncle is?"
"Are you going to give me to my uncle if I tell you, Appa?"
"Baekya, you’re not an object, so don’t talk like that. I’m only asking because there must be a reason why you didn’t look for your uncle when your memories returned. So, I was thinking that maybe you didn’t know where your uncle is at this point in time."
As expected, my former Omega father-in-law is sharp.
"I can guess where my uncle may be around this time, but I don’t want to disturb his quiet life," An Baekya said. "Appa, my uncle is only a student right now."
Well, a college student, to be precise.
My uncle has just turned twenty this year and is currently a college freshman. He’s old enough to be my legal guardian, but I don’t want to disturb his peaceful life.
"This uncle of mine is the illegitimate child of my grandfather, that’s why he’s way younger than my mother and aunt," An Baekya explained. "Back in my timeline, we met when I was already an adult and deeply involved with Yun Yuhyun. My uncle tried to help me, but Yun Yuhyun didn’t like that, so..."
Bae Wonyoung gulped nervously. "What did my son do to your uncle?"
"My uncle was a struggling movie director at the time, so it was easy for Yun Yuhyun to ruin his career and have him blacklisted from the movie industry forever."
Bae Wonyoung shut his eyes tight, but An Baekya wasn’t done talking yet.
"After my uncle’s career was completely ruined, he got into a huge debt trying to save the people who used to work for him. Thanks to that, he had become too busy to care about me, or anyone else for that matter. And, so, Yun Yuhyun had successfully ostracized me from the only family member who truly cared about me."
An Baekya paused for a moment, deciding whether to tell Bae Wonyoung the whole story or not.
It will make Appa feel more guilty, but he should know since I already started talking.
"I didn’t get the chance to verify whether the news was true or not, but someone told me that my uncle took his life in the end."
Bae Wonyoung finally opened his eyes and looked at An Baekya with almost teary eyes. "I’m sorry for what my son did to your uncle in the past, Baekya. Now I understand why you don’t want your uncle to get involved with you in this timeline. You want him to live a peaceful life this time, don’t you?"
"Yes, Appa. I brought bad luck to my uncle in the past, so I don’t want that history to repeat itself," An Baekya said. He was being honest and sincere this time. "Please convince Yun Dujun-ssi to stop looking for my uncle."
***
"DID YOU say good night to Baekya?"
Haaah.
Wonyoung went to Yun Dujun’s heart with a heavy heart.
Hence, he wasn’t in the mood to ’fanboy’ over how hot his husband was in his silk pajamas. Or about how the Alpha smelled so damn good.
It’s not just Dujun Hyung’s pheromones— he just naturally smells nice.
"Why are just standing there, Wonyoung-ah?" Yun Dujun asked curiously, sitting on the bed and patting the space next to him. "Come here."
"Hyung, why are you looking for Baekya’s uncle?"
"Ah, so Baekya already told you."
Wonyoung liked the fact that Yun Dujun was always calm and composed.
But not at the moment.
"We can’t foster An Baekya forever, Wonyoung-ah."
"But we can do that until he becomes an adult capable of standing on his own two feet. What’s with the rush, Hyung?"
"Don’t you think it will be better for An Baekya to grow up with his family? Of course, I’ll make sure that his uncle isn’t like his other greedy relatives."
"You’re not answering my question, Hyung."
"Wonyoung-ah, do you not want An Baekya to find his family?"
"We are Baekya’s family now, Hyung."
Yun Dujun just remained silent.
Ah, I see the problem now.
Wonyoung clenched his hands tight when the realization finally hit him. "Hyung, you don’t see An Baekya as a part of our family, do you?"
Again, Yun Dujun remained silent.
But all Wonyoung heard was a loud ’yes.’
To be honest, he was disappointed in the Alpha.
However...
"I understand, Hyung. After all, you didn’t want to foster a ’random’ child in the first place. It was me who insisted on taking An Baekya under my custody," Wonyoung said. Yes, he was very upset. But he was still trying to be logical. "So, I can see why you can’t treat An Baekya as a part of our family."
Yun Dujun stood up. "Wonyoung-ah—"
"But is it that hard for you to accept An Baekya as our child, Hyung?"
Yes, Wonyoung tried to be logical and handle this calmly.
But just thinking about how Yun Dujun saw An Baekya as a stranger all this time pissed him off.
No, he was actually hurt.
Hence, he couldn’t help but become emotional.
It’s a hundred times better than being unfeeling like Dujun Hyung!
"Hyung, tell me," Wonyoung said, almost pleading. "I want to understand you, so please tell me why you can’t accept An Baekya as our son."
"If I tell you, you’ll only get more upset."
"Do you think not answering my question won’t piss me off even more?"
"Let’s talk again once you’ve calmed down."
"I hate it when people say that," Wonyoung said, scoffing. "And I hate how you’re acting superior by staying calm. People like you make it seem like the emotional one is in the wrong. But, no, that’s bullshit. Just because you can keep your composure doesn’t make you right, and just because I’m being emotional doesn’t mean I’m being illogical. So, don’t ever tell me again to calm down when I’m in the middle of an emotional outburst."
"Alright, I understand. I’m sorry."
"I can’t feel your sincerity at all, Hyung. You’re just trying to appease me!"
"Then what do you want me to do, Wonyoung-ah? I don’t want us to keep fighting over this."
"Don’t treat the issue as if it were something trivial."
"I’m taking this seriously, Wonyoung-ah."
"Then take it more seriously," Wonyoung said sternly. "I won’t talk to you until you tell me why you can’t accept An Baekya as our son, Sunbae-nim."
Until the very end, Yun Dujun kept his mouth shut.
Jerk.
***
THE KID is weird, and I think he’ll harm our family later.
That was the reason why Yun Dujun couldn’t see An Baekya as his son.
But it wasn’t like he could say that to Bae Wonyoung.
My husband will find me weird if I say that.
Haaah.
But, at this rate, won’t Bae Wonyoung pack his things and leave with An Baekya?
No, his husband wouldn’t do that.
"Even if Bae Wonyoung wants to leave me, he won’t because of Yun Yuhyun," Yun Dujun whispered to himself, trying to stay calm and collected. "It’s about time our son returns home."
***
WONYOUNG was really tempted to pack his things and leave Yun Dujun’s house with An Baekya.
But An Baekya stopped him and told him that leaving the house wasn’t the solution.
To be fair, the child was correct.
Baekya asked me to stop Dujun Hyung from finding his uncle, but I picked a fight with Dujun Hyung instead.
Wonyoung let out a sigh.
"Appa, you don’t have to be upset in my stead," An Baekya said while the two of them were having breakfast. "You can’t expect Abeoji to accept me since he didn’t want me in the first place— he only used me to make you stay in your marriage."
The child was free to speak about it since only the two of them were in the dining hall.
Plus, Baekya’s voice is only loud enough for me to hear.
Anyway, Yun Dujun left the house early.
I didn’t know that Hyung has a schedule today.
"Appa, I don’t want you and Abeoji to break up because of me."
"We’re just fighting, but we’re not going to break up over this," Wonyoung assured An Baekya. "I just don’t understand why Hyung won’t even give me a proper excuse."
"Maybe Abeoji just doesn’t like me."
"Baekya..."
"I don’t think it’s necessary for Abeoji to like me as long as he’s willing to provide for me, Appa."
Aigoo.
Wonyoung was about to console An Baekya, but he got distracted when he heard a familiar voice echoing in the hall.
"PAPA, I’m home!"
Wonyoung let out a gasp when he recognized the voice that he wouldn’t mistake for someone else. "Yuhyun is back?"
