I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 133: A Fractured Welcome
Chapter 133: A Fractured Welcome
The moment Adam heard Lo’s defiant declaration his insulting words he simply smiled. It was a calm unbothered expression on his face.
He looked at Lo then he looked at the remaining crowd of hesitant first-years.
"If that is how you all truly feel," he said his voice devoid of any anger or frustration
"then I will not force you to join. I will only say this the offer to join my group The New Warriors will remain open for some time. Perhaps in the future after you see how things are in this Academy you will reconsider my offer."
With that Adam turned his back on Lo and the undecided students.
His attention was now fully on the group that had chosen to follow him.
There were now around forty of them. It was a significant number all things considered. They were a small but brave group.
"All of you," Adam announced his voice clear and commanding
"return to your assigned rooms for now and rest for today. Tomorrow we will discuss the future of our group in more detail. And we will approach the teachers of this Academy to seek official recognition for our new faction The New Warriors."
Kado the green-haired martial artist ever the skeptic immediately voiced a concern.
"But what if they refuse to recognize our group?" he asked his arms crossed over his chest. He was always thinking about the problems.
Adam looked at Kado with an amused glint in his eyes. "But you aren’t even a member of the group are you?" he countered a hint of teasing in his voice. "So why are you so concerned about our future?"
Before Kado could retort or say anything else Adam continued. His voice took on a more serious tone as he addressed the entire group of new members. "We will not run from the problems of the future," he stated firmly.
"We will not hide from challenges. We will confront them. We will grind them under our heel. And we will move forward. That is my advice to all of you. For now rest. We will deal with tomorrow’s troubles... tomorrow."
The new members of his group The New Warriors exchanged glances. A mixture of apprehension for the future and a newfound sense of purpose was in their eyes.
They nodded their heads. And then one by one they began to disperse. They started heading towards the large dormitory building to find their assigned rooms for the first time.
As they began to leave the [System Window] materialized before Adam. It was visible only to him.
[System Interface: Update]
[Master Adam 40 individuals have now been connected to your network. You can now grant them extra powers skills and various other enhancements through their Sub-System Windows. As their link with you deepens through their assigned Sub-System your ability to augment them to make them stronger will increase.]
Adam smiled internally when he read the message.
Millennia, he commanded silently in his mind through their individual systems monitor the emotional activity of all the members. I want to know what they are feeling. The moment you detect even a hint of suspicion in a member’s emotional state any indication that they might betray us or this group you are to alert me immediately.
"[As you wish Master,]" Millennia replied. It then vanished from his vision.
The remaining first-year students the ones who had chosen not to join Adam’s group also began to disperse. Their large group of over 500 students was now fractured it was broken.
The forty students who had sided with Adam had made a very brave and very dangerous choice. They were now a small but significant faction of their own.
The courtyard slowly emptied. Soon only three figures remained amidst the groaning slowly recovering forms of the beaten upperclassmen.
The three who were left were Adam Void and Kado.
Void looked around at the defeated upperclassmen. Some of them were now helping each other to their feet. They were staggering away with looks of pure hatred directed towards the three of them.
"Now what do we do about all of them?" Void asked Adam a hint of amusement in his voice. He found the whole situation very funny.
Adam watched the last of the upperclassmen limp away.
"We have done what we needed to do today," he replied calmly. "What move they make next what they decide to do is up to them. For now we wait. We will see what happens tomorrow."
With that Adam turned and began to walk towards the dormitory building himself. He was ready for a rest.
Void watched him go. A wide predatory smile spread across his face.
"Tomorrow is going to be very interesting," he murmured to himself. A thrill of anticipation coursed through him.
"I can’t wait." He hadn’t felt this level of excitement in a very very long time. In his past his past life as a demon he had hunted down many Spirits.
He hadn’t just hunted weak ones but powerful ones as well. A fervent wish a strong hope formed in his mind. I hope Eric is truly hosting a powerful Spirit. Because then fighting him for real will be incredibly fun. He loved a good fight.
Kado seeing Void’s strange almost manic grin scowled at him. "There’s something wrong with you," Kado stated bluntly. "You should get your head checked somewhere. You enjoy all this chaos too much."
Void simply laughed. It was a carefree joyous sound.
He was not insulted at all. "Funnily enough," he retorted with a grin "I was about to say the same thing to you. You are too serious."
Kado’s scowl deepened into a glare. "You want to fight me now?" he growled clenching his fists. He was always ready for a fight.
Void just smiled and waved a dismissive hand. "No I’m tired," he said with a big yawn. "I’m going to go to my room and sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." And with that he turned and strolled away heading towards the dormitory building.
Kado stared at Void’s retreating back. He clenched his fist tightly.
"You got lucky this time," he muttered under his breath. He then too turned and headed inside leaving the courtyard empty and silent once more.
The first day at the United Academy was finally over. But the troubles had only just begun.
