I'm Trapped Inside a Prince as the Most Powerful Entity-Chapter 66: A Leap Together
Chapter 66: A Leap Together
Alina’s family stood close to her, her mother still leaning heavily on her father, her brother’s arm protectively around them both.
Eric, standing a little apart with Alina, surveyed the crowd of survivors. His own training clothes were now torn and battered; the sleeve of one arm was entirely ripped away from the recent chaos.
He looked at the dense, unfamiliar trees surrounding them, then turned to Alina, a concerned expression clouding his golden eyes.
"Alina," he began, his voice quiet but serious, "now that everyone is out, what do you plan to do next? Where do we go from here?" He paused, then added the most worrying part. "You do realize... we’re in another country, right? This is the Roland Kingdom. It’s not safe for us here, especially for me, being who I am."
She remembered Adam’s last words, his unexpected faith in her abilities: "Once you find your parents, you must use your ability to teleport everyone—your parents, and Eric—out of here... I have absolute confidence that you can accomplish this task."
Those words, spoken by that Adam, echoed in her mind, giving her a strange sort of strength she hadn’t known she possessed. Adam believed she could do it. So, she had to believe it too.
She took a deep breath, then raised her voice, speaking loudly and clearly so that everyone in the anxious group could hear her. "Everyone, listen to me!" she called out. Her voice, though young, carried an unexpected weight of authority.
The chattering and nervous murmurs among the rescued prisoners quieted as they turned their attention to her. "We need to get out of this forest, out of this kingdom, and back to safety. The only way to do that quickly is together." She looked around at their faces, meeting their gazes. "I’m going to try and teleport us all out of here!"
A wave of confusion, mixed with fear and a desperate flicker of hope, swept through the group. Teleport? An entire group of people? It sounded impossible. The idea was particularly evident on the faces of Alina’s own family.
Her mother, father, and brother exchanged worried glances.
They knew about Alina’s unique ability, but they also knew how unstable it could be, how much it drained her, and how she had never been able to fully control it, especially not with so many people.
Her mother, her face still pale and drawn from her captivity but her eyes sharp with concern for her daughter, voiced their shared worry. She spoke gently, yet with a firmness that couldn’t be ignored. "Alina, dear," she said, her voice still weak but clear.
"You know your power... you haven’t fully mastered controlling it yet, especially for such a large group, over such a distance. It could be dangerous. For you."
"I know, Mama," Alina replied, her voice softer now as she addressed her mother. "I know it’s risky. But it’s our best chance. Our only chance to get everyone out of here quickly and safely."
She looked at her mother, then her father, then her brother, her gaze pleading for their trust. "Please," she added, her voice earnest, "you have to trust me....Adam... he trusted me." She didn’t elaborate on who Adam was; her parents wouldn’t understand yet.
Seeing the unshakeable determination in her daughter’s eyes, seeing a strength and resolve she had never witnessed in Alina before, her mother hesitated. She looked at her husband, who seemed equally torn between fear for their daughter’s safety and the desperate need to escape their current perilous situation.
Finally, Alina’s mother let out a long, weary sigh and nodded reluctantly.
"Alright, Alina," she conceded, her voice filled with a mixture of apprehension and a mother’s unwavering love. She then turned to address the anxious crowd, her voice rising with a surprising amount of strength.
"Everyone, you heard my daughter! We must do as she says! Please, hold onto each other’s hands! Form a chain! Tightly now!"
Hearing this command from someone who was clearly Alina’s mother, the frightened prisoners, who had been murmuring nervously amongst themselves, began to hesitantly reach out to one another.
Hands clasped hands – rough, calloused hands of farmers and laborers, softer hands of merchants, small, trembling hands of children.
Slowly, a chain of people began to form, a circle of shared fear and fragile hope, their eyes fixed on the young girl.
Alina reached out and grabbed her mother’s hand with one of hers, and her father’s hand with the other, gripping them firmly. Her brother stepped up beside her, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, offering his silent support. The circle of people tightened, everyone linked together, waiting.
Alina then turned towards Eric, who had been watching this unfold with a mixture of surprise and concern. "Eric," she said clearly, her gaze steady. "You should place your hand on my other shoulder too. We need to be connected for this to work."
Eric nodded. He understood. He moved to place his hand on her free shoulder.
Just as he was about to make contact, the familiar translucent blue System Window come into existence in front of his eyes, visible only to him. He wasn’t even surprised by its appearance anymore; it felt almost normal now.
New text appeared on the screen, its tone helpful and direct, like a timely suggestion from a capable assistant.
[System]: Host, a reminder: You possess the ability to channel stabilizing energy. You can assist Alina in controlling her teleportation power, much like you did with the energy transfer earlier this morning for her ability’s cooldown reset.
A small smile formed on Eric’s face as he read the message. He remembered the strange heat in his hand, the way Alina’s teleportation power had been instantly refreshed. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
If he could do that, maybe he could help her control this massive teleport too, make it safer, more accurate. It was a comforting thought, a way for him to contribute, to be useful beyond just being a Prince in name.
He looked at Alina, his smile widening slightly, offering her a reassuring look.
"Alina," he said, his voice filled with a newfound, quiet confidence he hadn’t possessed before. "Don’t worry. I think I can help you with this, just like... just like we did this morning." He didn’t need to elaborate; he knew she would remember how he had somehow reset her power.
Eric’s training clothes were, as noted, torn and battered from the chaos of the day. The sleeve of his right arm was completely ripped away from the shoulder down.
Silently, he focused his thoughts inward, forming a clear command in his mind, addressing the System that was his unwelcome but sometimes surprisingly helpful companion.
"System," he projected, his mental voice firm, "help Alina. Help her control her power for this teleportation. Stabilize it."
He didn’t know exactly what to ask for, but he hoped the System would understand. He closed his eyes, focusing all his will on that single intent: to help Alina succeed.
