I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!-Chapter 166: The Lawsuit
Picollo’s boat was flowering over the calm ocean. As far as one’s eyes could see, there was nothing but water. It was as if the entire planet was surrounded by water.
The boat was only large enough to accommodate three or four people, but most of that space was taken by the person that was tied in the back of the boat.
As his mouth was stuffed, he could only make muffled noise, trying to catch Picollo’s attention who only ignored him.
Picollo seemed to be talking to himself in the meantime, "I wonder how happy the boss will be when I return with the news of my success. I just hope I’m able to put his plan into motion without any mistakes..."
"Though the boss was right. This ’fishing trip’ is truly more fun than I expected." The corner of his lips crept up.
....
While Picollo was enjoying his vacation that was mixed with misunderstanding, Leo was lying like a lifeless doll, almost crying at the sight of the disgusting profit.
This time, he had truly spent money beyond his limits. He did that, knowing full well that his subsidiary companies were an expert at screwing him over.
It was the only reason he spent over two trillion, because even if his subsidiary earned some profit, it couldn’t even be a fraction of that. Somehow, even that bridge was burned.
What made him truly ashamed was that he didn’t even know where the money that his company supposedly earned this month, was? 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
He just stared at the wall blankly, as if trying to merge with the table and not having to constantly perform this calculation in his head.
"Candy?" While Leo was lost in thoughts, the goblin appeared before him, reaching out his tiny hand which had a small candy.
Usually, he kept his candies hidden from Leo, since they were his favorite treats. Moreover, Leo was also famous for stealing his candies, just to mess with him.
This time, however, he offered a candy on his own, seeing Leo’s sadness.
Leo knew how precious these small candies were for this little goblin, yet he was offering these to him like a child.
Although it was only one candy out of the bowl that he kept locked in his drawer, but it was still a lot for this greedy goblin.
This action brought a smile to Leo’s face who raised his head.
He sat straight, and reached out his hand to the goblin, who placed the tiny candy which was the size of a grain of salt.
"You’re right. There’s no point in crying over spilled milk. It’s only a matter of time before I find out the source and whereabouts of that profit. Moreover, I’m still young. A few setbacks won’t stop me!"
Leo placed the candy in his mouth before tossing his fist in the air. "I just have to ensure that this mistake doesn’t happen the next time I go on a spending spree to accumulate losses."
"If profits are unavoidable, it should be in months where I don’t waste money, so we can properly take advantage of both..."
"Now you’re looking like the dear customer that I know," the goblin smiled, taking a step back. "I am sure you will figure everything out..."
As he kept stepping back, his figure started disappearing. "With that, it’s also time for me to take my leave for now."
"Thank y-" Leo tried to thank the goblin, but by the time he turned, his little goblin manager of the highly illegal Arcadia Bank had already left.
....
Another week passed. And just as the commotion of Leo’s Hero Tower press conference had started dying down, another news spread like fire, taking the social media by storm.
As per the news, Alpha Corporation had actually filed a proper lawsuit against the Watchdogs at the Intergalactic Court of Justice.
Alpha Corp had even hired the best lawyers in the universe to draft the lawsuit, even if they had to pay a premium.
It made everyone realize that Reo Vanderlen wasn’t lying when he said that he would drag the Watchdogs to court. He was actually doing it.
Now, everyone’s attention was on the decision of the Intergalactic Court of Justice. Were they going to accept the lawsuit, or were they going to reject it at the doorsteps.
It wasn’t wrong to say that not just Leo’s space sector, but even other space sectors were paying attention to this case now.
Even the main headquarters of the Watchdogs had gotten involved, trying to use their influence to get the lawsuit rejected without even giving anyone a chance to argue in court.
Even a few Lords in the Galactic Union had heard about this lawsuit. They didn’t really care about it, but still found it quite amusing.
"Everyone’s attention is on the Intergalactic Court of Justice. This should be the perfect time to put our plan into motion, and rob the Lionels dry."
Sitting in his office, Leo said with a smile. "Don’t you agree?"
Before him, there was his Branch Manager, who was wearing an overcoat to hide his extra arms.
"I didn’t think I would have to disguise myself as well." He was wearing a wig on his head, along with some prosthetics that made him look like a completely different person.
Meanwhile, Leo also looked like a different person. He was wearing a long party hat, with heavy makeup all over his face.
He also wore a moustache that was so big that it would’ve made many wonder if Leo’s face had a moustache, or if the moustache had Leo’s face on it.
He also took help of prosthetic makeup to make his face look older. Once again, he had changed his hair colour, into a beautiful shade of deep blue like the ocean.
The Branch Manager of Leo’s Bank wasn’t the only person in the room who was part of the plan.
There were two more people. Both of them were the ones that Leo had saved from the prison’s second lowest floor.
