Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 290 - 285: Strange Divine Academy 30
With such urgency, as if afraid of being too slow to become the first to report Josh and get him killed.
Josh paid no attention and went to the bathroom to wash his hands.
When he returned to the classroom, there was an extra person inside.
A tall, slender man in a white robe, with long hair tied back and wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.
The man had a gentle and pure smile on his face, and the white coat he wore seemed to cast a soft glow around him.
The glasses had delicate gold chains hanging from the arms, making him appear even more refined and impeccably dressed, chillingly so.
Josh’s eyebrows shot up sharply.
Since last time, after angering the Pope, this guy hadn’t appeared in front of her again.
And now, upon meeting, the favorability has actually increased to 60%...
Could it be that he’s a masochist?
The more people ignore him, the more he rushes toward them?
Josh squinted her eyes thoughtfully.
"What’s going on, Josh?" The man’s voice was deep and pleasant, bright and clean, reminiscent of an angel’s wings bathing in holy light, starkly out of place with this gloomy and eerie school.
But in Josh’s eyes, he was clearly a white peacock displaying its feathers.
Since the other pretended not to be well acquainted with her, she naturally had to play along.
Josh said calmly and politely: "Teacher, Teacher Windsor falsely accused me of cheating by copying someone else’s exam answers. I’ve already proven my innocence in the way she suggested. I didn’t copy anyone, and she promised that as long as I could prove it, she would let me do as I wish."
The Pope suddenly leaned in, his eyes inscrutable, his tone strange: "You call me Teacher? Why does it sound so..."
Josh instinctively felt he was going to say something peculiar, she squinted dangerously and tensed her back, ready for anything.
A low chuckle rumbled from the Pope’s throat, and the words took a turn: "So... interesting."
Josh then withdrew her gaze, speaking calmly and steadily: "Since Teacher Windsor allowed me to do as I wish, would it be a crime if I killed her?"
Susanna, afraid that the teacher would be partial to her, hurriedly exclaimed: "Teacher, no matter what, Josh can’t kill the class teacher! She killed our class teacher; what about our class then? Where in the world does a student kill a teacher? You can’t be partial to her!"
She had worked hard, going to the office every day, to max out Windsor’s favorability, blackmailing Josh in front of Windsor, leading Windsor to target her.
Who would’ve thought Josh would just kill the person outright, rendering all her strategies and favorability pointless!
She couldn’t swallow this!
Josh saw she dropped the pretense and sneered coldly: "The teacher hasn’t spoken yet. Do you have the right to speak? Who do you think you are? Fit to point fingers at the teacher?"
The Pope cast a cold glance at the eyesore beside him, murderous intent flitted across his eyes.
Susanna met his gaze and felt her blood run cold, an inexplicable force gripping her throat, silencing her and choking her breathing.
She stared in terror, unable to move at all.
The Pope withdrew his gaze, turning to Josh, and the warmth in his eyes returned slightly.
He stepped closer, almost within half a step of her; her unwavering demeanor inexplicably amused him.
The Pope smiled slightly, indulgently: "Since you’ve proven your innocence, and Windsor said you could do as you will, then you’re naturally innocent."
Josh squinted her eyes.
The Pope stood tall and commanding in front of her, and when she looked straight, she could only see his chest.
It made her seem very short.
Without a fuss, she took a step back to widen the gap: "Thank you, Teacher. You remain as always, discerning and just."
"Heh... discerning and just." The Pope looked at her with an indescribable expression: "Student, come to the office with me, I have something to discuss."
"Yes!" Josh nodded compliantly, following him out.
The people in the class exchanged glances.
Just that?
Josh killed the class teacher!
Isn’t he an important NPC? 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
And she did it publicly.
That teacher seemed much easier to deal with and had a good temper too.
Wouldn’t Josh just sweet-talk her way through?
Susanna collapsed onto the ground, only she knew how terrifying that man had just been!
She had almost lost her life a moment ago!
This man, who looked as elegantly harmless as an angel, was essentially a devil!
Josh followed the Pope into an office. Before she could speak, a sudden whirlwind engulfed her, pulling her into the Otherworldly Space.
Just like last time, in this space, the school was gloriously bright, the sky flooded with sunlight, and there were even various white doves perched on the trees.
But there was no one around.
The whole space was so quiet it seemed even the wind had stopped, their breathing magnified several times within the space.
The Pope’s scattered long hair hung next to her, and she was pinned against a table.
Josh: "..." Here we go again.
The Pope looked at her with interest: "Little believer, have you had a change of heart?"
Josh shook her head: "No, I will always be your most loyal believer."
"Lies." The Pope’s large palm gripped her tighter, red marks forming on her wrists.
He stared at Josh with intense eyes, as if he had seen something amusing: "Little believer, you’ll stay here with me forever, right?"
Josh shook her head: "Of course not."
The surroundings darkened with impending clouds.
Josh couldn’t help but be distracted, thinking perhaps the Pope’s mood was easy to guess, wasn’t it?
By observing the weather in this Otherworldly Space, she could decipher his emotions without even needing to activate her Super Sensing Skill.
"You were distracted again, little believer." The Pope cupped her chin, his eyes falling on her earlobe.
Her earlobe was dainty and pink, like a glutinous little dumpling.
Josh snapped back to attention and began her act: "If I stay here forever, you’ll only ever see the same view. I want to be your eyes, to leave the school with faith and devotion to you, to traverse the mountains and lakes, so you can see more of the world!"
Pope: "..."
Josh looked at him earnestly: "You will believe me, won’t you?"
Pope: "...I don’t believe it, nor do I need to see the outside scenery."
Josh suddenly pushed him away, turning her back on him, her voice carrying a hint of agitation: "You mustn’t be so willing to wallow in degradation!"
"I wallow in degradation?" The Pope’s voice was devoid of emotion.
Josh clenched her hands, her expression sincere: "You’ve been trapped here for many years, right? You’re long bored with the same scenery; everything here is merely your game, isn’t it? I can take you away, to see more of the world, yet you refuse to trust your believer, it pains me deeply!"
