Immortal in Horror Game: She is the Fortune Teller!-Chapter 306 - 300: Nightingale and Rose 2
The three of them entered the small town.
The small town bathed in the sunlight, resembling a picturesque and innocent fairy tale town.
The streets were paved with light yellow floor tiles, and most of the small houses and wooden houses were two or three stories high, painted in a clean off-white color.
In the distance, a giant windmill was slowly turning.
In the middle of the town square stood a white witch statue and a fountain, with pigeons leisurely strolling, while dogs and cats chased and played around.
The main street was bustling with people coming and going, not too crowded but still lively.
A young girl selling flowers shouted at the corner, the golden sunlight outlining her silhouette with a golden edge.
Next to her, a knight dressed in a splendid outfit leaned against her flower cart, teasing and joking with her.
Almost all the people on the street were couples, their faces beaming with happiness.
The small town wasn’t large, essentially just one street surrounding the fountain and statue, with two rows of houses on either side, and not much else.
One could see the end with a single glance.
Yushi gazed pensively at the people on the street, and compared to the people there, he seemed the least sunny.
Not far away, the Flower Selling Ghost saw Yuze beside Josh, her expression suddenly turning gloomy and even a bit angry, as if she’d seen her cheating husband being attentive to another woman.
In various flower beds, the roses swayed wildly.
Josh wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but the thorns on these roses seemed to be slowly extending, their sharp tips gleaming in the sunlight, as if ready to fly out and pierce her at any moment.
She found her sudden thought amusing and casually plucked three leaves from a nearby branch, tossing them to the ground.
The three leaves fell, signaling a bad omen.
Josh raised an eyebrow. "See, I told you. This isn’t a vacation, so it can’t be such a friendly side quest."
Following the direction indicated by the omen, she led the two to find a hotel to stay at.
This small town only had one hotel to accommodate visitors.
The hotel owner was a friendly little chubby man, with a pair of curved mustaches under his nose.
Seeing the three of them arrive, he cheerfully welcomed them and said with a smile, "Do you want three rooms?"
Josh raised an eyebrow. "Can’t we?"
The owner smiled and nodded, "Of course you can, but around here, staying alone is considered an unlucky number, you know. Whoever stays in a single room might get killed~"
He said it nonchalantly, as if discussing what to eat today.
Yuze: "Two rooms then."
Yushi nodded agreeably, "That way, I can share a room with the Little Tactician."
Yuze lowered his eyelids and shot him a glance, "The Little Tactician is a girl; she can’t share a room with you."
Yushi was momentarily stunned, "Then who is she going to share a room with?"
Yuze: "With me."
Josh: "Can’t you two big men be a little more gentlemanly and let me have a room to myself?"
"No way!" They both rejected in unison.
Josh’s mouth twitched slightly, "Why?"
Yuze’s eyes twinkled slightly, "Staying together for mutual care."
The owner waved dismissively, smiling as he prepared their rooms, "It’s all right, no need to argue. After all, the person who stays alone will definitely get killed~" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Josh shrugged at his words, "Fine."
The owner did not expect this reaction and stared at them for quite a while, confirming that none of them showed any signs of fear or dread, then tossed the keys to the two rooms at them, "Take your things and get out!"
Josh reached out and grabbed his collar, almost hauling him over the counter with her strength, "Those with poor customer service will get killed too~"
The owner was startled, looking at these new "travelers" who seemed even crazier than him, awkwardly pulling his neck back, "Go go go, hurry up and leave. Don’t delay the guests who are checking in later."
Only then did Josh and the others take the keys and go upstairs.
Their rooms were the two farthest inside on the second floor.
The room at the edge, after opening the window, faced directly at the Flower Selling Ghost’s flower stall, with a dense rose bush just below the window.
Josh opened the window and met the Flower Selling Ghost’s gaze.
The Flower Selling Ghost stared at her intently, the shadow-covered half of her face nearly emitting a dark aura.
Receiving the full of malice look, Josh raised an eyebrow, spat at her, and slammed the window shut.
The Flower Selling Ghost was momentarily stunned, and the dark aura in the shadows grew even thicker!
Barrage: [Hilarious, dare to glare at my son, spit on you! Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!]
[Josh: Respond equally to each bit of malice.]
Night fell.
Yuze and Josh shared a room, while Yushi was alone in the other room next door.
The townsfolk packed up and went home before dark.
The entire street was shrouded in a layer of shadowy red hue, each household had closed their doors, and the lights were out.
The roses growing around each household stretched their branches and leaves in the night breeze, with the thorns extending out, flaunting in the moonlight.
In the corners of the house, shadows were moving unevenly, while inside the house came the "puchi puchi" sound, scattering blood crimson on the windows.
There was also the crunching sound of biting into something hard.
Josh was just about to lie down and sleep.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, and a woman’s gentle voice wafted in, "Open the door, I came to deliver flowers."
Josh and Yuze exchanged a glance.
The woman’s voice outside came again, "Open the door~ don’t you want flowers?"
Yuze looked at Josh.
Josh pulled the quilt over her head, "Don’t look at me, I’m lying down now."
Yuze’s face darkened, "I’m lying down too."
It was just a matter of laying out the bedding.
Josh was adamant, "You’re closer to the floor, you go."
Yuze: "Your bed is closer to the door, so you go."
Neither would give in, and neither was willing to get up.
Josh: "The rule of the Jianghu, if you’re tucked in bed, you don’t have to get up again. You go open the door, and close the light on your way back."
Yuze: "The rule of the Jianghu, rock-paper-scissors."
Josh: "Fine."
The two extended their hands, staring each other down, a hint of killing intent in their eyes.
The person outside: "..."
Barrage: [Flower Selling Ghost: Can you respect me a little?]
"Rock, paper, scissors!"
Yuze curled his lips, "I won."
Josh: "Congratulations, now go open the door!"
Yuze: "...?"
Josh smiled, "Don’t get all smug after gaining an advantage."
Yuze burst into angry laughter.
The knocking on the door grew more forceful, and the woman’s voice outside turned from gentle to increasingly irritable and sharp, "Open the door! I told you to open the door! Don’t you want my flowers?! Ze! Don’t you want my flowers!! Ah ah ah!"
Josh stretched lazily and turned her back to him.
Yuze sighed and got up to open the door.
The Flower Selling Ghost rushed in from outside, only to be kicked out by Yuze.
The ghost: "..."
Yuze withdrew his foot, "It’s so late, is there something you need?"
The Flower Selling Ghost, dazed after the kick and with her head buzzing, took quite a while to get up from the ground and return to "normal".
She sinisterly glared at Yuze, "Don’t you come to my flower stall every day to buy flowers? Aren’t I your favorite? Why are you sleeping with another woman?"
