In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]-Chapter 208: New Development (3)
Rise’s plan was possible. Kamille’s noble rank should be high enough to make it happen. This world was also nearly gobbled up, needing only a few pushes to be completely conquered.
The only challenging part was the process and how they would seamlessly integrate their influence and officially claim the world as their own.
It would be a waste not to utilize it after they were done conquering the world, would it not?
Under the wary expressions of the elders, Rise repeated what he said.
"Attend the meeting the central city proposes. Your clan can’t miss this historical moment." Rise saw through the confusion and hesitation in their faces.
His heavy gaze landed on them. The pressure he exuded increased. In addition to that, Kamille’s presence behind him magnified it further.
They bit their lips and slowly knelt, unable to withstand the pressure. Rise looked down on everyone, taking in each of their expressions.
The majority of them were still unwilling inside their hearts and only became obedient because of the life contract embedded through their blood and soul.
Undoubtedly, Rise held their life in his hands.
Rise did not mind if they had other thoughts. He was not one to seek loyalty anyway. As long as they were useful, Rise would not care even if they cursed him in their hearts.
"Put everything aside and focus on this order. Everyone, prepare for war!" Rise declared. His intention was hard to read based on his expression alone.
Though confused, the other did not know whether to take his words seriously because of his wide grin. Rise had always been this way.
Rise swept his eyes slowly to everyone present before finally landing on the current clan leader, Zenos’ father, Zarilan.
"Can you kindly gather every clan leader you know?" Rise’s tone was calm, but his gaze flickered ominously. "Before you attend the meeting. I’d like to meet them... and get acquainted."
Zarilan’s heart sank, feeling a trap slowly caging them all in. However, he could not disobey the order either. It was not just the contract within them, but also... Zarilan swallowed.
He could not even look at the man behind Rise, standing as though he were Rise’s loyal eternal guard.
Rise was scary enough, and if you add Kamille to the equation, then the duo was truly unstoppable.
Hesitation flickered in the majority of the people inside. Some clenched their teeth, suppressing themselves from speaking up. Some closed their eyes in despair.
Everyone was not dumb. Rise’s asking to meet the other clan leaders was not simply to get acquainted. He surely had sinister plans and was plotting against them.
Yet, what could they do? The moment that Rise became the master of the clan, they had already boarded his boat.
The upheaval of their emotions did not go unnoticed. Rise had sensed them all. But did he care? Not really.
To achieve his ultimate goal, he needed to be against the world if it was necessary.
After swallowing the guilt that welled up inside him, Zarilan finally nodded.
"I will contact them immediately."
Rise nodded. "Good. I’ll be waiting for their arrival here. Dismissed." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The moment that the words were uttered, everyone quickly left the hall. It was as though the last person to leave would die.
Once they were alone, Rise’s demeanor immediately changed, and he let his body fall against Kamille. Acting so weak and spoiled all of a sudden.
The corner of Kamille’s lips softly lifted. As though he were always ready, he caught Rise’s body skillfully, holding him carefully in his arms.
Rise chuckled, brushing his face against Kamille’s neck. He always loved this feeling of being cherished and protected.
Of course, Rise was a powerful esper on his own and did not need protection, but he preferred to depend sometimes on others. In this case, Kamille.
Rise only depended on Kamille. He did not think there would be another person who would make him feel this way.
"Guild Leader," Rise called in a soft tone, making Kamille’s ears itch. Kamille merely hummed, waiting for his next words. Rise faced Kamille, wrapping his hands around the esper’s neck.
The two stared at each other.
Rise smiled.
"You’re so handsome."
Kamille’s brow rose slightly. He pulled Rise closer. Kamille did not expect a sudden compliment.
Rise giggled, seeing such a reaction. He licked his lip, then bit his lower lip. Kamille glanced at his lips for a second before shifting back to his eyes.
"Do you think I’m so much of a villain?" Rise softly inquired, his gaze not leaving Kamille. His fingers were playing with the strands of Kamille’s hair.
He knew that Kamille did not think so, but he suddenly wanted to hear it. Maybe, somehow, he was also self-conscious.
After all, who would want the person they love to see their dark side? Rise still had such emotions, though not much like the others.
Like how some people only wanted their lovers to see their bright and beautiful side. Even though Rise might not be qualified to feel that way.
Kamille did not immediately answer. He leaned closer and kissed Rise, deepening the kiss for a few seconds. As their lips parted, their breath intertwining, Kamille whispered.
Affection written in his otherwise dangerous gaze.
"My villain."
Heat rose in Rise’s cheeks, and he bit his lips, or his smile had already reached his ear.
Rise loved that... to the point that his heart was almost bursting from so many emotions.
Kamille lightly chuckled, loving Rise’s reaction. Rise was always a menace, the one that made him fall to his knees with his antics. It was rare when his words caught Rise off guard.
Rise knew it, too. But he was not ashamed. In fact, he enjoyed when Kamille flirted with his words, too.
Rise let himself be overwhelmed by his feelings as he pressed his body closer and kissed Kamille passionately.
Kamille held him tightly, one arm around his waist, while his other hand held the back of Rise’s head. It was an extremely possessive and passionate kiss.
If he were to ask, Rise was not as fearless as he seemed. On the battlefield, he could rampage recklessly. However, when it comes to Kamille, Rise never wanted to gamble.
This was all he dreamed of in the past. It was not exactly a smooth-sailing journey. It might seem easy in the second run, only including the memories he remembered, but Rise had witnessed when Kamille was so distant from him.
The walls he tried to bypass for years, but had not managed to open in the slightest. Those memories still lingered in Rise’s mind.
Deep inside, he was afraid. That someday, when Epsilon finally arrived, Kamille would once again be controlled by the plot. That the walls he painstakingly destroyed would once again be lifted against him.
Probably, Kamille had felt it too. And so, he always... always gave his assurance. Not just his actions but his words.
Rise might only be settled after he confirms it. But for now... He had absolute confidence; Kamille was his.
