In Warhammer, My System is Minecraft-Chapter 140: Guilliman’s Secret, the Fate of the Warhammer Universe
A sting of pain flashed across Dante’s face, and his heart pounded. He hadn’t expected this request.
The matter of the Primarch’s remains was the Blood Angels’ greatest secret.
It was the Blood Angels’ holy relic, the core of their faith, and their final physical connection to their Gene-Father.
He opened his mouth, wanting to deflect this request in a tactful manner.
Crack!
Unexpectedly, Guilliman’s reaction was even greater than Dante’s. He crushed the armrest of his throne into a twisted mess with his bare hands, launched himself from the throne, and stared at Zeke.
Could it be? Could it be!
Guilliman thought of how Zeke had resurrected him, and the miracle of how his father had been mostly healed.
Zeke wanting the remains of Sanguinius—Guilliman truly couldn’t think of any other possibility.
Is it true? Is this real?
Guilliman’s relationship with many of his brothers was not good. They judged Guilliman to be rigid, boring, and hypocritical.
As Guilliman’s elder brother, Sanguinius was one of the few exceptions. He was the one who could best understand and tolerate Guilliman.
Having slept for ten thousand years and long since become disconnected from the era, Guilliman dreamed of finding someone he could confide in.
If Sanguinius returned... With his prestige in the Imperium, the state of the Imperium could improve immensely.
Why is this guy getting so excited? Zeke looked at Guilliman, who had just crushed his throne.
He just wanted to pluck a little of Sanguinius’s feather. That Holy Arrow thing was quite useful; the more, the better.
Guilliman’s violent action interrupted the words of refusal Dante was about to utter.
A murderous aura locked onto Dante. In the look Guilliman gave him, there was a hint of warning.
Soon, this warning suddenly turned back into a plea.
Guilliman remembered Marneus Calgar, the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines. When Zeke briefly explained the method to save him, Calgar’s reaction had also been intense.
Every Chapter Master single-mindedly considered their Primarch. For the sake of safety, they were always conservative, so a refusal was within reason. He couldn’t be too harsh.
"If possible, Dante, please trust me," Guilliman changed his attitude.
A request from a Primarch. Dante didn’t know why Guilliman was speaking up for Zeke, but he knew Guilliman had no reason to harm him.
Dante stood there for ten minutes before finally agreeing. "Give me some time.."
The news of going to the Primarch’s crypt needed to be relayed to the other Blood Angels.
Dante felt a headache coming on. The Blood Angels were already arguing endlessly over the integration of the newly arrived Primaris Space Marines, and now there was another thorny issue.
Bidding farewell, Dante walked toward the Arx Angelicum.
"Sicarius, please step outside for a moment." Sending Sicarius away, only Zeke and Guilliman remained in the tent.
"You have a way to save him?" Guilliman asked, his voice trembling.
Zeke cast a suspicious look at Guilliman. "What do you mean ’save’ him? When did I ever use that word?"
Guilliman, your imagination seems to be a bit too wild.
Guilliman froze in place.
The excitement of earlier popped like an awkward bubble in his mind.
Zeke had no intention of saving Sanguinius; he just wanted to take a tour?
Zeke took out Obsidian blocks and arranged them one by one on the ground into a door frame.
"But you just reminded me, Guilliman. I might be able to save the Brightest One. What do you think, huh?"
Guilliman was stunned, and the atmosphere in the air suddenly turned eerie.
Zeke ignited the Nether Portal. "Is it convenient to come inside and talk, Guilliman?"
Guilliman didn’t move. He looked at the purple portal, a flash of wariness in his eyes.
He could sense that it was absolutely not any place within the Warhammer universe.
"What needs to be said that cannot be said here?" Guilliman’s eyes observed every expression on Zeke’s face.
Zeke pointed to the sky, then pointed to the ground, and finally pointed to his own ear.
"Walls have ears," he said.
Zeke pulled a glittering golden object out of his inventory.
The object sparkled, emitting a warm and holy light. Guilliman felt the Emperor’s aura upon it.
"The Emperor gave this to me." Zeke toyed with the vox-caster in his hand. "Said I could contact Him with it."
"Since I can contact the Emperor through it, it’s highly likely the Emperor can hear our conversation through this thing too or rather, being the Emperor, even without this kind of thing, He can hear our conversation."
Guilliman understood Zeke’s implication. There was something that needed to be kept from the Emperor.
Zeke turned and took a step closer to the Nether Portal. The purple firelight cast eerie shadows upon him, making his expression flicker between light and dark.
"Relax." Zeke shrugged nonchalantly. "I’m not like you, starting up an Imperium Secundus after just a few days of losing contact."
Guilliman’s face twitched slightly. Could we not bring that up again?
Looking at Zeke’s demeanor, Guilliman’s heart wavered slightly. He still has the mood to joke around, maybe it really is just a casual chat?
Maybe...?
Watching Zeke step into the Nether Portal and disappear, Guilliman paced and hesitated for a long time. Another dimension that even the four Chaos Gods couldn’t interfere with—this sounded very ominous.
If Sanguinius truly could return...
Guilliman took a deep breath, and then he stepped forward.
The purple flames surged again, swallowing his figure.
After a while, a figure rushed out from the Nether Portal.
Guilliman looked terrible, a fine layer of sweat seeping from his forehead. If possible, he would have preferred never to have heard what Zeke just said.
It was too horrifying.
In the Nether, Zeke spoke of a possibility—a possibility that the Emperor would exterminate all of humanity.
It was too sensational. Guilliman didn’t believe it.
The Emperor had always loved humanity deeply, willing to do anything to save it. How could He destroy humanity?
He decided to bury this secret deep within his heart, burying it even deeper than Imperium Secundus.
"The fate of the End Times... is everything you said true?" Guilliman recovered his senses, still unable to believe it.
"Maybe. If the Emperor can sit peacefully, it might be fine. But if He becomes a god, the first thing He’ll definitely do is wipe out all of humanity."
Zeke wasn’t certain either.
"Can’t that milk of yours solve it?" Guilliman recalled the Emperor’s terrifying, inhuman state before drinking the milk, and believed Zeke’s words a bit more.
"You can’t tie all your hopes to a single rope. You always have to prepare for the worst."
Zeke stretched his waist. "I want to confirm one thing, Guilliman. We are on a united front, right?"
"I have always stood by humanity. In the past, now, and in the future. If you are the same, then we have always been on the same front."
"As expected of the son of Konor. You made the right choice, Guilliman."
"Perhaps. Or perhaps, I’ve just made a decision worse than Imperium Secundus," Guilliman said, his face full of bitterness.
How did I get so dizzy and agree to Zeke? How could I?
Maybe the terrifying sight of magma and fire in that dimension scrambled my brain?
Maybe it’s because everything Zeke has done from beginning to end—resurrecting me, healing the Emperor, slaughtering the swarm—gave me a long-lost feeling of something called ’reliability’?
Guilliman felt like he had boarded a pirate ship, one that would be doomed to eternal damnation at the slightest mishap.
But this pirate ship carried all of humanity; Guilliman had no choice.
"Relax. Since when have I, Zeke, ever been unreliable?" Zeke put his hands on his hips. "So what if the Emperor ascends to godhood? If that day really comes, I won’t go down without a fight."
"As for now, let’s focus on Sanguinius. Guilliman, aren’t you looking forward to reuniting with your brother?"
Guilliman calmed his emotions. "Let’s go," he said. "To see my brother."
Zeke checked JEI.
"You go first. I need to make some preparations and will be there shortly. Enchanted Golden Apples, Totems of Undying... you know, Sanguinius died much more thoroughly than you did."
"Maybe neither of these will work, but don’t worry, I have 3 backup plans."
No one understood resurrection better than he, Zeke.
Guilliman nodded, buried this conversation deep in his heart, turned around, and walked out of the tent.
