Infinite Adaptation: Starting As A Level 1 Slime-Chapter 43: Mission Accomplished
The next day.
Lina walked ahead of them, her small form weaving expertly through the crowd.
"Over there is where they sell crops and seeds!"
She pointed toward a row of stalls piled high with vegetables and sacks of grain.
"And that way is the tailoring district. They make all kinds of clothes there!"
She spun around, walking backward as she spoke.
"And if you keep going straight, you’ll reach the blacksmithing quarter. That’s where adventurers buy their weapons!"
Lunaris nodded, committing the layout to memory.
"Thank you, Lina. This is very helpful."
She grinned.
"I’m going to stay around here and look for customers for our inn!"
Lunaris looked at her with genuine admiration.
"You’re quite hardworking for someone your age."
He produced a silver coin and handed it to her.
Her eyes sparkled.
"Thank you, mister!"
She clutched the coin and dashed off into the crowd, already scanning for potential guests.
Lunaris watched her go, then turned to Mira.
"Let’s get to work."
...
They approached the first stall in the agricultural section.
An older man with weathered hands stood behind tables laden with various seeds and produce.
"Welcome, welcome! Looking for anything specific?"
Lunaris examined the selection.
"I’m interested in your seed varieties. What do you have available?"
The merchant gestured broadly.
"We’ve got wheat, barley, various vegetables - carrots, cabbages, turnips. Even some rarer herbs if you’re interested."
Lunaris picked up a small sack of wheat seeds.
"How much for this?"
"Five silver."
Lunaris set it down.
"The quality seems decent, but five silver is steep for this quantity."
The merchant’s eyes narrowed.
Lunaris didn’t falter.
"Hmph, fine. Four silver. Final offer."
"Three silver, that’s all you’ll get from me."
"Three? What do you think this is..."
"How about this, if you sell it to me for three silver, I’ll take a similar amount for all the types of grain you have."
The merchant hesitated, then extended his hand.
"Deal."
...
They continued through the market, stopping at stall after stall.
Vegetable seeds. Grain varieties. Medicinal herbs. Exotic plants he had never seen before.
At each stop, Lunaris negotiated firmly, securing somewhat reasonable prices.
Even with the mana stone exploit, all this money still came out of his mana so he wouldn’t let himself be ripped off that easily.
By the time they finished, his storage was filled with an impressive variety of seeds.
This should give us plenty to work with.
...
They entered the tailoring district.
The shops here were more refined - wooden storefronts with fabric displays in the windows.
Lunaris turned to Mira.
"You should get some new clothes."
Mira looked uncertain.
"Is that necessary, my Lord?"
"Consider it part of your equipment. A bodyguard should look the part."
They entered a shop.
A well-dressed woman greeted them with a practiced smile.
"Welcome! How may I assist you today?"
"My companion needs a new outfit. Something practical."
The shopkeeper’s eyes swept over Mira appraisingly.
"I have several options. What style does the lady prefer?"
Mira’s gaze drifted to a section in the corner.
She pointed.
"Those."
"Ah, this collection. A wise choice."
Mira selected an outfit - black leather pants, a dark fitted top with reinforced stitching, a hooded cloak with multiple hidden pockets, and fingerless gloves.
Lunaris looked at her choice.
She has even worse fashion sense than me.
But she had chosen it herself. And she seemed pleased with the selection.
He let her keep it.
"We’ll take this set. How much?"
"Three gold for the complete ensemble."
He paid without negotiating. The craftsmanship was genuinely good.
...
The blacksmithing quarter was loud.
The ring of hammers on anvils filled the air. Heat radiated from the forges. The smell of hot metal was everywhere.
They entered a well-stocked weapons shop.
Swords, axes, spears, and shields lined the walls. Armor sets stood on display. Smaller weapons filled glass cases.
Lunaris walked through the shop slowly, his "eyes" scanning everything.
Perfect.
He analyzed each weapon, each piece of armor, each crafted item. The techniques used. The materials involved. The skills of the crafters.
After a thorough examination, he felt satisfied.
He had done the same thing with the tailoring district earlier so he felt his work was done here.
Though, it would be rude to just leave without buying anything.
He turned to Mira.
"Take whatever you want."
Her eyes widened slightly.
"My Lord?"
"Consider it a reward for accompanying me."
She hesitated, then moved toward a display case.
Her gaze settled on a pair of daggers.
They were sleek and deadly - curved blades with wrapped handles, designed for quick, precise strikes.
"These."
Lunaris nodded.
He approached the counter where a burly man with soot-stained arms stood waiting.
"Those daggers. How much?"
"Fifteen gold for the pair. Finest steel, enchanted edges."
Lunaris reached into his pouch and produced six magic stones - five D Rank, one C Rank.
"Will this suffice?"
The blacksmith’s eyes widened.
"More than suffice! Pleasure doing business with you!"
He had made quite a few magic stones last night since he couldn’t sleep.
It was then that he discovered that he could adjust the complexity of the mana crystallization to form mana stones above D rank.
His Thought Acceleration had also improved to 1500x in the process.
Mira accepted the daggers, testing their weight with a few movements.
A hint of satisfaction crossed her usually stoic face.
...
They walked through the streets.
That should be everything.
Lunaris mentally reviewed their acquisitions. Seeds of various types. Clothes for Mira. Weapons. Skills and techniques gathered from his spamming of Analytical Appraisal.
A productive trip overall.
"Excuse me, good sir!"
A voice called out from the side.
Lunaris turned.
A man approached them. He was thin, with slicked-back hair and an unsettling smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
His clothes were fine but worn at the edges. His posture was slightly hunched, almost servile.
"Good day to you!"
He bowed with exaggerated politeness.
"I couldn’t help but notice, you seem like someone of great taste."
Lunaris said nothing.
The man continued, undeterred.
"I happen to deal in... special merchandise. Might I interest you in viewing my products?"
His smile widened.
"I assure you, they’re fresh and top quality."
Fresh?
Lunaris was confused by the wording. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
But his curiosity was piqued.
He decided to check.
"Lead the way."
The man’s eyes gleamed.
"Excellent choice, sir. Right this way."
