Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 402: Mysterious Dryad
The Werewolf and Vampire who had originally spoken up now quivered in the back, shamelessly pretending as if they had said nothing at all. From their Seniors, they had heard more than enough about the widespread tyranny of the one whom all geniuses of the 7 Realms wished to challenge and dethrone.
"Your Lady?" Cassius asked. "And who might that be?"
Dryad Cela went silent, though ultimately said, "My Lady is the one who rules over this Branch of the Yggdrasil Tree. And she just told me to tell you a single word…"
A sound-silencing dome was cast between the two of them, preventing even Yimin and the other girls from hearing what she said.
FWISH!
After the dome dissipated, Cassius's expression was far less nonchalant. The face he was making was scarily serious, enough to make Zara, Maxy, and the others grow curious about what the scantily-dressed Dryad had told their Master in secret.
"I wonder if that's the kind of dress Cass likes," Exisia mumbled while staring at the leaves barely large enough to cover up Cela's naughty bits.
She instinctively compared her body to that of the sensual Dryad, only to frown upon realizing that hers fell a little short…
"Very well then," Cassius said seriously as he walked past Dryad Cela. "Lead the way."
Dryad Cela nodded, immediately summoning a huge floating leaf object. She jumped on, then glanced down at where Cassius had just been standing.
She was going to say something, but was surprised to see him no longer where he once was.
"You may ascend," Cassius said from behind her. "We don't have all day, do we?"
"Oh… No, of course not," replied Dryad Cela as she worked to calm the unnerving feeling this man gave her.
She knew he was powerful, but for him to move around her without her sensing a thing was…
As beings bred from Yggdrasil, Dryad Cela and all other Dryads were capable of hyper-awareness of their surroundings. As long as the scope was within a certain range of the incalculably large surface area of Yggdrasil, they could sense all ongoings.
But this Prodigal Conqueror, Cassius…
He was different.
Even with him standing right in front of her, Cela couldn't figure out if he was actually there or not. He had no presence, akin to a 4-Dimensional organism.
"Is something the matter?" Cassius's question snapped her out of her stupor. "Are we not going to depart? The eyes of those below are beginning to annoy me."
"...My apologies, Sir Cassius," Dryad Cela said hastily as she commanded the giant leaf to ascend. "We're departing right away."
Cassius nodded. He also took the chance to do a quick headcount, making sure that all the troublemakers were on board.
Which they were.
But like usual, Yimin was fiercely growling at the 'new woman,' even going so far as to threaten her with the slit throat motion.
While flying high above where the crowds of high-ranking members of the Seven Dimensions were once gathered, Cassius and the rest obtained an awe-inducing view of the Branch of Yggdrasil they were on. Millions upon millions of small, nature-based creatures bobbed around, sometimes accompanied by a Dryad.
Every so often, one could see a member of the Seven Dimensions walking or flying around. But even during this time of year, when the once-every-century Yggdrasil Tournament drew near, not many visitors of these Blessed Lands could be found.
After all, it was far from easy to acquire a Guest Ticket that allowed entry into Yggdrasil…
'Good thing I stole some while I was strolling around the Seven Dimensions,' Cassius bemused, urging Dryad Cela to say:
"We've arrived, Sir Cassius."
"We have—?"
FWOOOSH!
Tearing through the fabric of Space, the leaf object shot through a wormhole that instantaneously transported them all to a tiny luminescent world located somewhere in this Branch of Yggdrasil. The world itself was only a few city blocks in size and had augmented scenery that made it look like a sea of stars hung overhead.
At the far center of this world, there lay a simply adorned structure that looked something like a birdhouse—something a witch in the woods might live in.
"You've brought them?" came an ethereal voice that trickled into one's ears like the voice of an angel.
'I'm an angel…' Exisia all of a sudden felt self-conscious about her voice and cutely became frustrated while taking furtive glances at the charmed look Cassius was making.
(He was actually very serious at that moment.)
"Yes, my Lady," Dryad Cela responded while already in the kneeling stance. "But I was unable to bring him alone. He insisted—"
"It's fine," said the ethereal voice resonating from within the birdhouse structure. "You may go now."
"Understood, my Lady," replied Dryad Cela as she turned around and walked past Cassius, but not before getting one last look at him in. 'I didn't notice before, but he's inhumanly handsome…'
"Ho?" The owner behind the ethereal voice looked in Cela's direction. "It would appear THAT trait runs in your genes. The ability to enrapture any member of the opposite sex with little to no effort."
Cassius was instantly reminded of his father and all the scandalous stories he'd heard about him in all Seven Ascension Towers. Even still, he responded with a crooked smile, saying, "Surely you jest."
"Humble as well," the ethereal voice mused, with an astral projection of dazzling starry lights materializing outside the birdhouse structure. "You must've gotten this part of your personality from your mother. Lilia always has been soft-spoken and down to earth."
Cassius stiffened, with a coldness emerging from the depths of his Origin Progenitor Bloodline.
"How do you know my mother?" he asked while closely watching a starry woman of impeccable beauty come into existence.
Unlike Dryad Cela and most other Dryads, who had green hair and eyes, this woman looked to have the cosmos weaved into a waterfall that was her sparkling hair. The clothes she wore also had a starry glow to them, though there wasn't much of it covering her sinful figure.
"Child."
