Rain stopped hesitating and soon began to move around insanely fast and killed all the people in that area. They didn't have the chance to attack him… Rain could only imagine that they had been there for a while and were unable to recover their powers.

After moving around, Rain saw some makeshift tents, but they were all made of stone. There were some remains of insects that had been eaten and many other things that probably shouldn't be put in their mouths, but those people didn't have a choice.

In any case, Rain pierced the hearts of the enemies with his right hand and let it there for a while. When he pulled out, the bodies didn't bleed, and his hands weren't dirt with blood either. Instead of that, he had red spheres in his hands made of the blood of those people.

"Even I am not sure if I should ask what you are planning to do with this," Elisabetha asked.

"You don't want to spoil the surprise, so it makes sense," Rain said.

Eventually, Rain finished off the enemies in that area. Their numbers didn't even reach the third-digit mark, so it had been fairly easy. Before long, Rain began to walk to the other side of the area after Elisabetha confirmed that the others hadn't reached the next place. It seemed that they were hesitating as well, thanks to the conditions of the opponents.

Meanwhile, Rain went to his mental landscape. Inside Rain's mental landscape, he found himself surrounded by the spiritual essences of those he had just killed. These people, though effectively dead, retained their consciousness.

Their life force hadn't departed their bodies. Instead, he had sealed them within the crimson spheres formed from their own blood. This unorthodox method had granted Rain experience points but not erased them from reality. It was probably because they couldn't affect the physical world anymore.

The confused and disoriented spirits lingered within the confines of Rain's domain, casting confused glances at each other. This wasn't the afterlife they had anticipated. Rather than moving on to whatever awaited them beyond the mortal realm, they found themselves tethered to Rain's consciousness.

Their spiritual forms manifested a mixture of fear, curiosity, and disbelief. From their vantage point, they could perceive Rain's mental landscape, a realm they hadn't expected to witness. The perplexed spirits struggled to comprehend the unconventional fate that had befallen them, trapped within these crimson orbs and connected to the enigmatic figure before them.

"I guess this is a bit better than death, right?" Rain asked. "While you guys targeted me out of despair, you still tried to take my life, so you should be thankful. That being said, you will have the chance to have your revenge against those who put you in the other hellhole by helping me, capisce?"

The spirits looked at each other once more in confusion and then started to talk to Rain, but he didn't understand a single thing… Language level one hundred only helped him understand all the words on Earth, apparently. He will have to learn their language before anything.

"This is your homework, Elisabetha," Rain said. "Until I find another way to make you useful."

"I am not Sakaki, don't give me tasks that he is supposed to do," Elisabetha said.

Rain ignored her complaints and soon returned to outside. His body had walked a bit on his own since he split his consciousness with both tasks, so he was already pretty close to the dark gate.

As soon as he crossed it, Rain found another box there, and when he touched it, he found a long sword, a pair of daggers, and a red wad… the set of weapons had changed a bit.

"If they want to make a game to entertain themselves, I guess I can't complain about their stupid game design," Rain thought and then touched the red wand, making the other two disappear.

"The word novice doesn't fall right with me… probably because I am not leveling up the skills," Rain thought. "The next time, I should pick a sword or the daggers in order to learn a new technique that should help me understand this system a bit better."

The area hadn't changed at all. It was still a rocky desert with insanely high temperatures… Rain began to walk a bit, waiting for someone to show up on the other side, but that didn't happen. What did happen was that after moving for a while, he suddenly felt an ill intent, but he didn't hear anything… until something grabbed his leg and pulled him.

Before long, Rain found himself upside down, his view dominated by a rock that bizarrely morphed into a dead-looking tree. Despite the strange and unsettling scenery, Rain remained surprisingly calm. This environment was just another manifestation of the unpredictable challenges thrown at him, and he had learned to adapt swiftly.

As he hung there, suspended by an unseen force, Rain noticed the dead-looking tree gradually transforming. The expression on its face seemed to convey a sense of curse and malevolence, as if the creature had been twisted and corrupted into a monstrous form.

The very rock he had dismissed as an innocuous element turned out to be a deceptive disguise, concealing a threat that had successfully captured him.

"I can't let this happen again, but I can't just attack everything either," Rain thought. "It feels like I am walking on eggshells."
